Raise & White Side. The Lake District. 6th August 2024

A walk in the Lake District starting near Thirlmere up to two Wainwright Fells, Raise (883m) & White Side ( 863m)
The walk starts from Stanah near Thirlmere and follows the path up to Sticks Pass. The path is steep in places but fairly easy to follow. From Sticks Pass we turn right for the final climb up to Raise. The Views from Raise are stunning with far reaching views towards Keswick and towards Ullswater on the other side of the fell. From Raise we then follow the clear path along the ridge to our second fell, White Side. Just like Raise, the views are very good in all directions. From White Side we start our descent. The path leaves White Side from the summit and heads down towards Thirlmere & Fisherplace Gill. We turn right once reaching a wall next to Fisherplace Gill and follow the path back to the start point.
