You will be fine! Good for you Evelyn. I have been natural for almost 10 years. Back in 2007, there were hardly any videos to watch on natural hair and there were very few blogs back then. I made a few videos on my channel about transitioning and I have written two books about it. They are on Amazon. The books are called Dynamic Curly and Dynamic Curly Extended. Dynamic Curly Extended is a paperback book on Amazon.
Nice! I recently had my hair cut again after being fully natural for nine years. I have not had a relaxer since 2007. Your hair is pretty. I have done a couple of videos for newly naturals. I wrote 2 Amazon books Dynamic Curly for newly naturals. One of the books is a paperback on Amazon entitled Dynamic Curly Extended.
Great! I recently had my hair cut short after being natural for almost 10 years. I published an ebook called Dynamic Curly on Amazon. Another book Dynamic Curly Extended (paperback) will be on Amazon next week. They are for newly naturals. I have also posted UA-cam videos on my channel with tips for newly naturals.
I'm 16 months post relaxer. My transition got much easier 8-9 months post. Carefully detangling with a comb instead of just my fingers definitely helped. Products to try: Aussie Moist, inexpensive but very effective. To avoid becoming a product junkie, which unfortunately I have become, remember you can always Return products you don't like. ;)
+Jasmine Cherry Thanks for sharing! I used products from the Aussie range many years ago now (which I found pretty good). But I recently bought some new ones which I'm looking forward to testing out soon.
I am also transitioning and I struggled with detangling at first until I decided to wash my hair in braids... I braid the stretched hair with aloe vera and oils. aloe vera makes my hair quite soft. I then shampoo my scalp and rinse hair... The shampoo is always diluted.1tbsp mixed in 250ml bottle I undo each braid, apply deep conditioner(ORS/tresemme+oils+aloe vera) and braid it up and rinse after an hour.... then rinse with apple cider vinegar I leave the braids to air dry... my breakage is minimum. Products I use is auntie Jackie shampoo, aloe vera juice, apple cider vinegar, oils, ORS replenishing, vegetable glycerin, Cantu leave in, shea butter, Tresemme moisture rich
I'm 3 months post relaxer on my transitioning hair journey! Watching your videos has been inspiring and given me the motivation to keep pushing through. I'm dreading the 9 month period though. For me, what has really helped has been deep conditioning once a week. My favorite product to do this with is the Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10-1 hair masque. It gives my hair the necessary protein for low porosity hair. I know your hair is high porosity but I think that, with the multiple multiple multiple benefits the product has, it could be worth a shot for your hair as well if you haven't yet tried it. Also, the shea moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil shampoo has been very good to people regardless of hair type/texture. I think it's great to deal with the blending of the two textures. Thanks so much for your videos! I've enjoyed watching your hair journey.
+Seraphic Lunacy Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and share this information! It's also nice to hear my journey has inspired you to keep going! 😊Don't worry about reaching the 9 month stage, you'll get through it. All the best!
The last time I was on this channel was quite a while ago, this was when I had relaxed hair. about 1 year ago , after I cut my hair I obviously no longer looked for help here. you really helped me with my relaxed hair and thank god you are now becoming natural and you can guide me how you guided me with natural hair.
+Naomi Awoyera Awww...welcome back! 😊 Really happy to hear my videos helped you on your relaxed hair journey and I hope to do the same once I'm fully natural. Btw, just incase you haven't done so already, make sure you subscribe to my channel, so you're notified when I upload videos.
Thank you so much for for your update. I was transitioning aswell, but I just got frustrated with my relaxed hair, it had loads of tangles, it was breaking and kept getting matted up. So I just big chopped at 6 months post... It was scary because I loved my long relaxed hair but I am falling in love with my twa ☺
landiza cardoso this is exactly where I am... I am 6 months into transitioning it and ready to chop it off... the first time I went natural, I chopped my hair off after only 2 months of transitioning LOL... This is long for me
Congrats on one year transitioning! OMG I've been having the exact same problem with breakage. I also just reached one year of transitioning! So we're on this journey together. But idk about the big chop part lol I think I'm gonna transition long term
Healthy Afro Hair lol! yes I did. Thank you so much for your always informative videos. The knowledge you share here has been integral in guiding me on my journey to healthy hair.
+Mona Bee Hey Mona, thank you! 😃 Make sure you're subscribed to my channel, so you don't miss my videos! I also did a 3 transitioning hairstyles video which you might have missed.
Great video, inspiring and congrats on 1 year. I am at 13wks post hoping to go as long as possible till I chop. Like you I am unsure and scared of just having short hair, I've always had long hair on me. Until the next video, stay blessed.
keep on the gd work with your hair! some products I love for my transitioning hair : JBCO, tea tree oïl, lotta body moisturizer, cantu for the cream and creme of nature for the leave in 7 in one. Oh and I can't detangle without my tresemme conditioner the moisturizing one is bomb! love the video btw!
+Laora LECLAIRE Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! 😊 I'm using the Cantu Shea butter creamy hair lotion (which I really like) and I keep hearing good things about the Tresemme conditioner. But thanks so much for letting me know about your products.
Thanks for the update..I followed you because of your relaxed hair..but now that your going natural..I feel sad..lol but I still follow this transition because I stretch my relaxers so its the same thing almost but I'm not going natural..but I'm ready to see your hair fully natural .....♡♡♡
+goldmouth100 You're welcome! Awww...don't be sad! 😊 But it's good to hear you're still subscribed to my channel and following my journey. Thanks for the support.
You are beautiful, and congratulations on your fantastic progress! the following has greatly improved my hair strength, retention and moisture: castor, coconut, olive, tea tree and almond oils; henna, apple cider vinegar and aloe juice or gel. Continued success and God Bless🌸
I relaxed my hair 2 weeks ago but I regretted luck enough I don't let the chem stay long......so I left a big if natural look but straight...I need a routine advise .
imacreamsicle I'm at 6 months post relaxer and I can't stand it... About the big chop... I've had long hair, short hair, and in between hair... It's hair so it'll grow back😀
On point as always! I enjoyed the video :) I swear if you started a fitness channel you'll have us with 6 packs in weeks, lol, you're really organised and informative
Jada Cox : I DON'T THINK YOU CAN TRANSITION FAST JUST KEEP YOUR HAIR WASHED, MOISTURIZED, ENDS TRIMMED WHEN NEEDED AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR HAIR. HANG IN THERE PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE AND WILL PAY OFF IN THE LONG RUN.
First of all....u have amazing hair your hair is beautiful just wanted to say that like seriously I really wish I could find the correct products like what you did I have been relaxing my hair for 5 years now and I'm tierd of it I have to be constantly combing my hair and I want hair where I can just do something and go my hai is still short and well the relaxed hair isn't working for me my hair has been going natural for 5 months and I only experience an inch of growth now I know that's a short amount of time but really that's not what I'm having problems with I'm having a problem deciding which products I should use for moisture and I'm not sure if I'm conditioning my hair right... I'm just not sure what to do with my hair
+Kylah Brown Thanks so much! You should definitely check out my 'Beginners Guide to Protein & Moisturising Conditioners', as that video will help you to understand all about what moisturising conditioners you need to use and when to use them. Hope it all goes well.
+brandnew new Thank you, glad to hear it! 😊 I can't remember if I mentioned it in this video or my 40 weeks post update, but I felt the exact same at one point. My hair matted up so badly and I stood there looking in the mirror, contemplating the big chop. So glad I didn't though. Trust me, if I can get this far, so can you. Keep going!!!
Hello, your videos are some of the best on transitioning. I would like to use one of your pictures on my blog. Of course pointing all credit and links to your videos. I am Cathy with UltraBlackHair. Love to hear from you
Hey Cathy, that means a lot coming from you 😊 I discovered you and your hair book almost 12 years ago (when I first started out on my relaxed hair journey). It helped so much in teaching me the fundamentals to growing and managing healthy hair and instilling the belief that my hair could grow, so thank you ❤️ But sure, you’re more than welcome to use my picture on your blog 🤗
@@HealthyAfroHair Thanks so much for your quick response and permission. I will give you credit for all that I use and share links of your videos. You are so beautiful and I hope to meet you one day as you have inspired me!
Aww...that’s really nice to know ☺️ Interestingly enough, we met some years ago at the Afro Hair & Beauty Show in London (it may have been before I started doing this) but it would be lovely to meet again at some point. 💛
@@HealthyAfroHair if I may also ask you to please message me on FB. I don't want to put my email address in a post to prevent being spammed by haters. (have that problem now) Also would like to ask you if you don't mind to put a link to my website. This will give more credibility. Finally if you are ever interested in doing a guest post on my new blog, I would welcome it in a heartbeat! (cute heartbeat emoji would go here if I was using my phone to reply.

will you straight your hair again without relaxing? I'm just curious to see how it looks!!
+JA C SA Well, I haven't used any heat in my hair for almost 2 years, so I'm not in any hurry to do so.
How can I transitioning fast without a big cut my hair

Relaxed my hair for the first time at 16, I hate it, I just wanted looser curls, I’m about 4 months after doing it :(
Don’t worry! Just try to embrace your natural curl pattern and you will eventually learn to love and accept it just the way it is 🥰
Looking gorgeous sista!
