I’ve wanted to scuba dive for years on my lake. That has all three species of bass plus stripers Because it’s amazing how many LM and SM are caught in open water Witt the stripers
But I've also seen lakes that had really good offshore fishing really get decimated when TP&W stocks heavy concentration of hybrids or stripers, I think they just eat all the bass fry and then outcompete them offshore for forage, in effect starve them out
Thanks to TPWD for undertaking this research project and thanks to you Ken for sharing with all of us. Without your time and effort, this would have ended with a research paper that none of us would have ever read!
This is getting down to the kinda questions one might ask themselves when trying to find the bass that were there the day before or a week before. Dad always said he thought they didnt swim to the other end of the lake.
Thank you Ken. I hope you will consider doing a similar series with other biologists on other lakes. Blew my mind when Todd said fish data doesn’t show movement to back of coves in fall!
Off topic, but if you're still looking at tin boats check out Avid made in Amory, Ms. I know some of the dealers in your are are selling them. I'm picking up my new one tomorrow from Buck's Island.......18XB. They make them in 18, 19 and 20 foot models plus several bay boats.

Thanks Ken, I’m from TN. And I appreciate you and Todd reporting this information 👍💯

yet apparently some do!

I think that blew us all away, in essence no evidence of "migration"
Are they working on getting the grass back into Toledo?
They are, video to come
I wonder how conditions affected them being suspended 🤔
I think that's how a lot of these fish live 365

Rooster they are on the list
What is the proper name for the Bush we call buckbrush?
I'll ask
I would really like to see this done on natural lakes up in the northeast.
I'd also like to see it done when the lake is full of grass to see that impact.
Been enjoying this series but looks like you need to do a proper fizzing video.
We did one a couple of years ago, probably good time to revisit
The lack of movement has to be correlated to the amount of shad in the lake. A bass doesn't have to move much to find shad in this lake.
correct
Perhaps the lack of movement is due to available forage.
Why move away from the buffett
Hey Ken I am actually interested in biology and I was wondering if you could maybe ask him about how he got his job and what path he took? Thank you
I’m actually in hot springs Arkansas wanting to work at lake ouachita doing this kind of thing! Go hogs
Seth go back and watch the first one, he did undergrad and grad work in biology, he talks about it in vid 1
@@KenSmithFishing thank you! Keep up the good vids!
