I moved to Florida 13 years ago and my first apartment was in Sanford Landing. Moved to Lake Mary and now I'm back in Sanford. "Red headed stepchild" is definitely fitting for people who don't live here. Sometimes I wish it would stay like that because real estate is so expensive now. Helped a client buy a house in Sanford at that very price two months ago. They got 3,600 s.f. 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath with a very nice pool on a 1/2 acre + lot in a small gated community. House had average fit and finish. With more custom finishes, you wouldn't get that much square footage for $650,000. That price buys more today than it did a year ago, for sure.

Sean, all of the Markham Woods Road corridor is still unincorporated Seminole County, but with Longwood, Lake Mary, and Sanford addresses.
