De Bary is the northernmost station on the sun rail, but coming in June or so they’ll be another one more northern then Debary, which will be called Deland.

I lived in Longwood , actually right across from that golf course/park area , on Raymond Ave … very nice city , miss it from time to time ..

My house was made in 2022 and escrow hit me hard this year. I dint know about the storm of extra expenses of owning a home after a full year of owning a home. I need help lowering everything possible 😅.

They are trying to scare more into homes. If you arent financially ready dont do it or you can be in a scary spot. Sure renting is pricey but imagine being stuck underwater in a home and not ready financially. I’ve seen too many in that spot. Be safe folks. Good video with good info. I’m eager to see what happens next year. Seems like the world is in a messy place.

Buy before the rates go up buy before the rates go down it never ends. It is always the best time to buy if you listen to a real estate agent.

Currently looking for a home in each of those 3 neighborhoods! I think Meadowbrooke is my first choice. Just looked at the one across the street from the tennis court but with the home being built in the late 1990's it needed some updating.

Terrible! No representation of Colonial Town Plaza? Where neighbors have gathered for decades at Dexters, The Vineyard, Liam's and Amura, Ruth Chris and the Westin's Don Schula, that is where the Real Residents of Lake Mary have been going for 25 years + The AMC theater and Coldstone and Menchies for ice cream after the movies. You left out Peach Valley and Stonewood. Honestly, there is nothing downtown except 4th Street Grill which is mediocre. I have built 3 homes here and know it very well- I feel you left out the best of everything in Lake Mary- I grew up here so I know most of our neighbors who own these establishments - Corona Cigars have been there at least 20 years, not to mention the great bike trail behind Peach Valley which we all love.....

At about the 4:48 mark you showed a new house being constructed. Why are Florida builders building wood stick / 2x4 with a press wood outside? I would think all new construction should be at least concrete block maybe even with rebar k. As for roofs I find it interesting no company has developed something other than asphalt. We wanted to retire to Florida in 2 years but I now not so sure.

Moved here from California in 2017. Making plans to move out of Florida. As you made effort to mention, "not pointing fingers" Just responding to the reality. Our policy on a 1991-built home went from $1800 to $6500 this year. Our old insurer failed, the existing policies were taken up by a new insurer who set our annual premium on renewal next month to $6500. Not really worth it, to reside in this state any longer. Reason being, this is astonishingly high, and it's not going to drop. A $10,000-per-year annual premium could be one renewal away. That might sound crazy but it's 100% feasible. The new state we're looking at, we'll pay cash for a small home, and probably only carry liability. My heart goes out to less-mobile folks who have to stay here. We're in central Fl, we avoided in 2017 moving to Sarasota because the HO insurance was super high there. "We'll move to the inland, where the storm surge isn't an issue, and we'll have affordable HO insurance." Didn't work out that way! .

I may have the opportunity to the Orlando area later this year. Should I be concerned about the cost of hurricane and flood insurance? Are insurance agents leaving the Orlando area?
