Man if I have one of those old Harley V twins I would put that carb in a box and stick it on the shelf somewhere and tune one of the new Harley CVO carbs to the bike. I bet it would run a million times better! Thats if it would work but I think it would.
Your long exhaust is causing all your problems Try exhaust tape and 12” less pipe and you will be way better off. Might keep your bike. That is all she needs.

My 1971 looks nothing like this one . Brake and shifter are on the wrong sides… Harley changes that in 1975 ( brake on the right. Shift on the left… ) my ‘71 is right side shift, left side brake )

you do all that when your keeping it, not when your selling it with the intention of making a profit. The next guy might change the pipes completely
