Your reaction to Lanfear every time she's on screen proves that the casting was perfect (some were complaining she was too old, not hot enough, yadda yadda). LOL
I agree with your assessment of her casting. I know what the hold up for some book fans is, but I don't think they paid enough attention. While "Selene" was described as younger in the books, closer to Rand's age, Lanfear was always described as more mature and even more beautiful. And as for her description as the literal most beautiful woman in the world... it is almost like she was described by someone who was having Compulsion used on him.
@@techpappee Falme is a harbor, the water was always there. The sandy area they are at is a coast peninsula, not the desert the Aiel come from. This is the first time the three Aiel have been to Falme, and the first time they've seen the ocean.

The reason why Egwene's training sounds that way is because they literally think of damane like animals. It's like they are training a horse. So they receive praise when they do something that is approved of and can receive rewards, but in the end they are no different than horses. They are kept in "kennels" and are taken for walks. Lanfear had to create a distraction, and thats what all the fire bombs were about. Even Lanfear could not counter the combined strength of 14 sisters plus the Amyrlin Seat herself, plus whoever else was in Caihrien. Mind you, there were Aes Sedai already in Caihrien before Siuan even rolled up. When Moirain told the old guy, in the last episode, to give her letter to a Blue sister, I immediately knew there had to be sisters in Caihrien already, and Moiraine of course didnt want to talk to them. The bald Aes Sedai ... her name is Joiya, and she's a grey. Greys are diplomats, mediators, judges ... basically that friend whos always going back and forth between all the other friends trying to make peace while judging all of them at the same time. Anyway. I dont think Siuan even called her to Caihrien. She was already there, for whatever reason.
I genuinely loved that one scene between Lan and Rand. I felt so much chemistry between the two of them. I saw like a Jedi master and his Padawan. And my heart felt so full. I hope to see more of the two of them in the next season.

Non-book reader who enjoyed the episode and your reaction. Also was surprised to see Hayley Mills, Disney's child star from the 60's, in the episode rendering that prophecy.
1. What do you think Siuan will do to Moraine (as the Amylin Chair) ? She will stay un Aes Sedai, she will be punish ? Hunted ? (What yours theories, no spoilers from the books please) 2. When Lanfear attacked Siuan and broke Rand's shield, is that means that Lanfear did something to Siuan's power ? Or Lanfear is so powerfull that she attacked Siuan and remove herself the shield ?
I can't remember which of the aiel was looking at the sea and said "I've see people kill and die over a pool of water I can step over. Now I see all this water and none of it is drinkable" This, was the episode I had the most divisive thoughts about. Episodes 5 and 6 were probably my favorite from my entire show. Mostly I'm worried about episode 8, because *so much* has to happen and I just don't see it getting done. There is a lot to like: Eqwene not giving in, and Elayne and Nyneave working on freeing her. Rand and Lan *finally* bonding. Barthanaces getting his comeuppance. Mat, when he's sassy, is Mat. Verin being Verin. But... the low points continue to be the same as we run out of episodes. The show has really done Mat dirty, and I see how well Dónal does with the few lines he has, and its kind of breaking my heart, Mat is one of my favorite characters and it is hard to see him cut out of the story. Likewise, Rand has shockingly little agency, and all he really did this episode was get shielded, and ask Lanfear to get him out, which makes her kill a bunch of people. Again, Rand's acting is great, he is just given nothing to work with. And Min's deal with Ishy is unresolved... I don't even know how it could be resolved. Suian using the Oath against Moiraine was little short of Compulsion and I hate it. And I found Aviendha's punishment to be... confusing at best. She wouldn't bat an eye to lose a spear sister in battle (even her cousin), the only reason she would have Toh is if she *did* something that lead to Dailin's death. And being beaten is the cheapest way to meet Toh, and generally only used if you don't have a better way to meet it. I just don't think it was explained well. I don't know, I reserve the right to love episode 8 and that will pull the whole season up retroactively. But I'm losing hope that it will be resolved in anywhere near the epicness of book 2. Hahaha, I feel like the aiel looking at the ocean.
I’ve read the books multiple times. I’m loving the show. There has only been one scene in this season that a truly disliked. It was in this episode. I just wasn’t buying what they were selling me.
Tbh, I felt that this episode wasn't the best one because it felt a bit rushed to me. There were also a few deviations from books. However, I think overall it did the job it needed to convey information for the non-reader regarding the path to reach the finale location, Falme. For that reason, I rank it 7.5/10. We're ready now for Falme end game, and it will be glorious.
Worse than slaves. Seanchan slaves are at least considered to be human and can be bought free of their slavery. Damane are pets/weapons, and they’ll never be able to be freed.
@@jenliz6248yeah, there is a term that is actually used for slaves, that they use in the show. Da'covale. And they are above the Damane in rank. Damane are more like a pet horse or dog. And Da'covale are the ones who do serventile duties for the rich people.
I'm not a book reader, but I am assuming that Falme is NOT a port city. I think It's a desert city and the suldam/damane at the end of last season created that tidal wave to change the landscape and sail their boats right on up into Falme - which is why the Aiel are thrown off by the sea being there when they've probably crossed that desert hundreds of times and there has never been sea. Also.. I'm absolutely dying with you being h-word on main, hahaha!

To my knowledge, the three Aiel with Perrin have never been to Falme before so they wouldn't know if the water was there before or not. Also, Falme *IS* a port city so it's always been coastal. They're just not accustomed to large bodies of water. In the books, they're appalled by (and even sometimes afraid of) smaller bodies of water like a small stream or creek. That's a raging river to them.
