Wow!! I am amazed by how clean and tidy the street is. I lived at Queen St North in Kitchener, 20 years ago! Always saddens me how once great city streets were allowed to rot away but I was there a year ago and it looks like the street is coming back to life.
Great video!! I got my street orientation when I saw the Lyric & Capitol! Had to send the link to my father as he would remember downtown looking like this - stroll down memory lane!! Thanks for sharing!
Progressive banning vehicle traffic , save trolley buses, from King Street in 1967. Must have been a centennial year only thing though, since as a kid walking those sidewalks in the early seventies it was just like any other street, ie back to normal traffic with parking curb side. Neat seeing the old Eaton’s store again. Odeon theatre where dad took us to see the Poseidon Adventure.
It was also a different place in the mid to late 1980's.... I miss it.

Thanks for watching
I remember that "Mall" sign and how great it was to be able to walk everywhere without cars around. As a kid at that time, it was fabulous.

I was just thinking that. It's now a dirty, sad street.

"MALL DO NOT ENTER" - Not a very inviting sign.
I think that's probably addressing automoblies
