I live here 🙌
All white people were diversity wasn’t alowed back then
London, aka The Littlest Hobo, is the most famous Canadian dog.
yes many bands came out of vancouver.....and you were not even born when many did.....bands from seattle and point roberts..
Moved to Vancouver in 1963
what NFB film is this from?
Where can I find this film in full unedited
Jeden z ukochanych seriali mojego dzieciństwa.
funny how picturesque this all looks compared to the abject hell the native people were going through at the same time
Reading the book "Terry & Me" right now. Had to look up this video 🥲
Back in the nineteen-eighties, my $99 Greyhound A-B ticket, much to the surprise of the lady that sold it to me, took me from Toronto, to Vancouver Island and included the ferry too. I hired a rent-a-wreck in Victoria and drove till the logging roads came to the ocean where a bear ate my dinner.
Those were good times
Who is the performer with the deeper voice singing To It And At It?
Stompin’ Tom Connors
Look at all the people walking down the sidewalk. Today most people would have their noses in their phones. Sad.
Construction began on March 31, 1937. After one and a half years and a cost of CA$5,873,837, the bridge opened to traffic on November 14, 1938.On May 29, 1939, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth presided over the official opening during a royal visit to Canada. A toll of 25 cents was charged for each car or horse and carriage; five cents was charged for pedestrians or bicycles.
Great interview, hadn't seen this one.
Everyone seems rather fit. I didn't notice any obesity. Vancouver was a great place to grow up.
When construction workers actually did construction work; with speed might I add. Bureaucracy is killing Canada, especially British Columbia. Everything takes forever to build here - a simple 2-4-month project now takes 5 years. Amazing. TY for the upload.
Is there anyway I can find the full video?
Some remarkable black & white footage of Bob Dylan shot by CKVU"s Daryl Duke. Best part of this video is the appearance of actor Michael Zenon - who was 'Joe Two Rivers' on CBC's The Forest Rangers.
A couple other notables from Brandon include George Tackaberry, the creator of CCM "Tacks" hockey skates and the childhood home of Samuel Bronfman who would later move to Montreal and become one of Canada's richest persons with the success of Seagram's Distillery.
I remember trips to Brandon as a kid. Driving through the snow for the Royal Winter Fair. Checking out toys in the basement of a department store downtown (Eaton's I'm guessing). And yes, I've been to the Brandon Greyhound station to meet a family member coming in by bus. Still go to the Winter Fair every few years, but haven't stopped in the downtown in forever.
The sickly sweet seventies. What a time it was.
The language of my people
I absolutely love and look forward to your episodes and clips. ❤
Thank you for video...2 yrs ago I found same idea...but had classical music...sent to self, cannot find it ! 2 hrs online...is this it, but the sound is gone ??? Help !
I was there somewhere, in Grade 11 at Magee. I notice a Wosks store - Carol Wosk was a classmate. I didn’t know her very well, nor have ever thought about her. But seeing this l wonder...
great to see one of these with sound.......................awesome, esp. because I was living in Vancouver then, and know all these areas so well
R.I.P, PETE ROSE, A BASEBALL LEGEND!
I lived in Wasaga Beach for years an loved going to Collinwood. It's a great town with great restaurants and services and I miss it soo much! Hurontario Street is awesome and kind of a little village in it's own.
The history is great, but now it's Retired Toronto North.
One of my sons lives in Collingwood so it was nice to visit him and see the community. I hadn't been there since I was a kid and my family went to Blue Mountain Inn for a weekend. My mother still owns lots of Blue Mountain Pottery. Great video!
really taks me back...........................great upload, thanks
Oh man You should do this in Toronto to, cause the scene in Toronto is very weird now, good venues still a lot less then the 90s. But I think the scene is odd now.
Love all the series you do man!!! Met you at the Queens Plate. The vibes are amazing man!
Kings Plate Old Habits die hard
Thanks!
😅
Beautiful
I suppose under Canadian citizenship laws he could have got Canadian citizenship.
wow...............this really takes me back.............................
Thank you😢
Long live the vandoos
Great CARS!
Wow! What a treat. Things have changed SO much since then.
Arrived with parents, little brother and unborn baby brother in Autumn 1977. Left in summer of 83 for Ontario. This footage must be at least 77 due to the appearence of the Sea Bus.
My hometown!
The 70's . All the crazy dumb stuff we did in high school and University, and there's not a digital record of it anywhere.
Everyone had a job kids were in school and not overpopulated
I loved that place. I played there and the green room was insane. All the signatures of huge bands who weren't all that back in the day. Had to go through the kitchen to get there.
it was good but frankly the commodore or the cruel elephant. also it was still running in 99 when I left as far as I know.
Cool !
These old videos are awesome. I've worked down on the waterfront for 20 years and every so often I come across leftover things from the early days, and these videos help me figure out what I'm looking at. Plus, really, they're just fun.
