Thanks for the videos. Did the sealer seem to do the job? I just removed and re-did the crown on my chimney, but I'm thinking of trying to seal the bricks as well. Looking for a decent product that I can actually afford. Thanks!
That’s s huge chimney. How bad was the leaking in the chimney and did this fix the problem? I have wire cut bricks that are in the same condition as yours. I guess in the 80’s they were a cheaper option. I used Re-Cap to seal the cracks and it was great for a month. The southeast is getting a lot of rain and it’s leaking again. Can you still bien in your fireplace? Thanks for this video.
No water was leaking into the chimney or into the house. It was just getting behind the bricks, the freezing during the winter and popping the bricks off. We've never really use the fireplaces, they are gas. And i haven't checked the grout since i put it on there, but i put it on real thick and with 2 coats.

Tamoseal....?????????????
Use prosoco p d siloxanee waterproofing repellent that's better than that cheep stuff. That's for bricks then use a chimney crown paint for the cap.
