I found that with both the 900 and manticore I have. That no matter what patch lead I plugged into the machine (3.5mm jack) would not disconnect the detector speaker and work with the August transmitter. I was informed that was due to the detector needing to see a resistance when headphone socket was used to switch over to headphones. So after looking into this I added a couple of resistors into the patch lead. This then worked.
This is awesome, thank you. I just contacted Minelab "Service" Americas for my WM 08 module that has failed and needs a battery. "It's not covered by warranty and we don't service them". $450 Canadian for a replacement WM 80?!! ... I like your solution better! You got another subscriber and maybe the Manticore that was in my future turned into a Deus! Cheers
Don’t skimp on the headphones and don’t skimp on the modules. You can buy them from China for just a few dollars but you’ll be sorry because of the latency. you’ll spend most of your time looking for targets that are, like Sid said, a foot to either side. I helped a guy that thought his coil was no good and I convinced him it was the module and for sure it was. He was ready to send his machine back.
I have a 900 and nokta accupoint pin pointer which is Bluetooth. Anything out there that enables me to link detector and pinpoint through the headphones??
Yes these will work a treat… if i remember right the explorer has a larger headphone jack so you will just need to get a extra lead large to small jack lead they cost about £4
I’ve been using Bluetooth earbuds on my 600 sense I’ve owned it. As long as they are low latency and aptx they will connect. Now idk about the new machines. But the 800 and 600 would connect without any lag.
Yeah the 600 and 900 are bluetooth, these will connect awesome without the transmitter, but the 900 and manticore are wireless so the transmitter is needed… this setup will work on any machine that has a headphone jack
Turn nox on… then turn off the bluetooth on nox(top right button) then long press top right button on nox untill you see it searching for headphones…. Then long press the headphones large button until see the blue and red light flashing (searching for bluetooth device) then they will connect
In stock on my end… www.metaldetectorsonline.co.uk/wireless-bluetooth-headphones-aptx-low-latency-with-microphone-nfc-august-ep650--transmitter-pack-259-p.asp

Great video Sid, it's a common problem for a lot of people, breaking it down and making it easy for peeps 👍

If you use the August MR230B receiver, you can use any 3rd party headphones that you wish.
I’m on it Sid ….cheers for the advice earlier mate 👍👍👍
My pleasure buddy
Nice one Sid. That'll be a good set up for my old (but golden) whites xlt spectrum......cheers pal. Keep safe......

Good info Sid cheers mate
Gotta ask because I know zero about electronics. My Koss headphones have gone kaput, I wondered if this gadget would work on my Minelab explorer 2?

You would think they would make it where you wouldn’t need the transmitter and make it completely Bluetooth wireless like the older machines are.
@@JusDirtfishin they have but wireless so cant use your choice of headphones like you could with bluetooth, bit of a kick in the knachers
I agree. You pay that much for a machine. You would think you would be able too
I notice you are using the 900 more often now is it that much better than the desus or is it just preference thanks
It just seems to be finding me the goodies, ill use any machine from any brand, all I’m interested in is Whats finding
Can you use earbuds with this transmitter
Only bluetooth ones unless you get a receiver as well as
I had a pair delivered today and I'm struggling to get the paired to my nox 800

@@englandshistory cheers Sid I'll try again. The Mrs wasn't happy earlier as the nox kept connecting to the TV 🤣
Dose the legend have head phone jack buddy
Love the headphones but my issue is pin pin pointing as you have to remove the headphones to hear the the pin pointer
You will still hear pointer if you have the pointers volume up
There is no volume control on a minelab pin pointer or can you recommend a loud pin pointer?
@@daleparmenter9554 garrett carrot or mi-6
All right Sid have you got a Facebook page with metal detecting, many thanks Alan

Hi I would like to put this on my sovereign Gt, would it be possible

Yes, I think the gt has the larger headphone jack so all your need extra is the mini jack adapter
Thanks buddy
I have done that but through earbuds
Cheers sid silver oor black they will soon be mud colour😂
I use the garret z lynk in a similar set up :)
Yeah very similar 👍🏼
Could you use just low latency aptx ear buds and connect
Yes you can
Yeah the transmitter will connect to Bluetooth headphones just make sure you use low latency ones
@@englandshistory non related Sid but I don't use Facebook is there a way of finding about dates for England's history digs cheers
Would these work on the dues 1
On any detector that has a headphone jack 👍🏼👍🏼🤟🤟🤟
The only problem doing this is the detector is not fully waterproof with the headphone jack unscrewed..
You can't but them on your store link it says no stock
