Love Romain and The Big Push. I would say that this probably isn’t their best performance. Only because I think the sound is a bit off. I’d recommend checking out their mashup of: Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard. In that video, each band member gets an opportunity to shine. It’s one of my favorites by them. Ok, cheers!
Joy Division -> Underrated. For a twist, that fits, check out New Order's "Blue Monday". Pretty much the first popular "EDM" song....1980, and still sounds 'fresh'. By the band that Joy Division after Ian Curtis passed.
Surprised an ex-gf hasn't exposed u to this song, it's in soooo many movies. 😄 The recording of this feels like camera mic, not into the zoom in this one I'm guessing. Romains voice is unique and suits this song, that's how they pick who will sing.
Love that all members of the Big Push are allowed to shine at different times and that you’re reflecting that in your reactions - not just focussing on songs where Ren sings…..💜
Joy Division were a band from Manchester UK in the late 1970s. After their singer, Ian Curtis, killed himself in 1980 the rest of the band reformed as New Order, who may be a little better known in America than Joy Division.
It is 80s it was recorded in 1980, although the original band Joy Division were mainly a late 70's band this was the biggest hit released just 2 months after the bands lead singer and song writer Ian Curtis took his own life. Just weeks before, they were to embark on a US tour. He suffered from epilepsy and the illness got worse from the exhaustion of performing regular concertes and his medication made him drowsy so he struggled to perform on the medication, one theory is that a combination of his marriage breakdown and the stress his illness and profession were drove him to that finality. The band decided to carry on but in respect to Ian changed their name to New Order and had a lot of UK hits in the 80's the biggest being Blue Monday. It's a great cover as always by The Big Push
@daratheresa thanks, Joy Division/New Order are my favourite band and usually I'm not keen on covess of their songs, bit The Big Push nailed it, and the odd one as much as I'm not keen on Moby I also like his version of New Dawn Fades.
I adore Romain's voice! It's so special, dark and soulful.
Came to Brighton England from France to try and further his music career.
Romain hail from a place near Toulouse, France.
Ren and Romain were roomates for 6 years and are still very good friends. They all get to shine in some songs. They did not identify as Ren's band.
I love how The Big Push puts each person in the spotlight for different songs... it's not REN'S band, it's a group of friends who love to vibe!

Not sure if that was the greatest recording. Romain has some good songs. Check out Time After Time solo song. Pretty great.
Romain has a very french voice which he uses to capture the vibe of Joy Divisions very sad art punk song
NOTHING cheesy about Joy Division
