Absolutely vile, as expected! What I always loved about AB is how emotional their songs actually are. Jagged melancholy I guess. It's not immediately apparent perhaps but this always resonated with me. That being said, these riffs are... fuck man hahaha.
Yes I also noticed this after listening to Estranged From Orbit. Also pretty melancholic probably my fav from them, I don't know the lyrics but from the title of the song, I think this is about a planet being flung out of the suns orbit somehow, hurls through the solar system. In the song at 4:16 this is where the planet crosses the boundary between the solar system and interstellar space, this howling noise come in and everyone on the planet laments their fate. Man i love artificial also bought the tab book to learn some of those crazy riffs haha
The closest thing I can think of that has that same emotional impact is the last album from Ulcerate. I hope that one day I get the chance to see these bands live, preferably at the same show haha. Cant wait for this new album to drop!
@@dzanci1 saw Ulcerate live in 2018, went there solo and man where they good! Also agree regarding their latest, similar sense of desolation but for me Ulcerate are devoid of this "longing" whereas AB have semblance of it. In any case I am mega excited for the new album!
Celestial Cyst Lyrics Descendants of the last surviving humans Grown now having never known the world that's gone A scar they all must wear upon their face A map to a constellation out in space Carved with an arrow down to the marrow Carved with an arrow down to the marrow Ancient maps from the sky When the world was destroyed The stars came back into their vision, giving them wisdom
One of the most incredible two guitar attacks of any metal band ever. The stuff going on during the main 7/4 section is absolutely crushing and next level. Need headphones to appreciate the nuances here.
Damn man that took me somewhere else. I spaced out. Fucking epic. That back and forth was amazing. Felt like I was on a desolate planet staring into the abyss as a child. Fucking trippy. Definitely listening to this on repeat next time I'm getting big like Mario.
Oof that's a great one but Afterbirth, Archspire, Suffering Hour and Ad Nauseam dropped amazing albums last year! In any case I'm just glad we're getting so much good music.
@@UponThisAltar I don't know haha. I got so into Labyrinth Constellation that the - let's say "change of vibe" - second album felt very different with the first 2 or 3 listens. Calm down, I was joking when I said, that with Samuel Smith having put out an album with Aeviterne and a sign of life from Luminous Vault within a week or so, that the new AB would be around the corner. Lo and behold. I am amazed and very happy.
I prefer the production of infrared horizon. The incredible musicianship is obscured by a bit too much muddyness if you ask me, but the playing is top notch and the vocals are crazy rich in variety holy clap
Just floored with how great this is. Though, really bummed about this being Will’s last record with the band. Hope some resolution can come out and get ya’ll back in the same studio cause this is some magic Jonson.

This stuff is pretty cool. I'd recommend checking out The Great Old Ones (perhaps "A Thousand Young" to start with) if you want more spacey black/death metal.
One of the most promising modern DM bands rn, such a shame that this is the last album with Will on vocals, with this single I can already tell he's going off with a blast.
@@EnergyChasms Dude holy shit I just realized that the albums maybe follow a story. 1. War 2. Desolate wasteland with remains of the war 3. The remains millions (or any amount of time but million sounds cooler) of years later where civilization perished and nature has taken over once again

Can’t even express how I’ve longed for this. Absolutely crushing so far. Can’t wait to hear the rest.
Fantano said it's like a tech death take on the Super Metroid OST, and I get it. Epic.
