    INGREDIENTS
4 cups all purpose or plain flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tablespoon yeast
    1/4 cup powdered milk
    2 tablespoon melted butter
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 egg
    200 ml warm water
    1/2 cup warm whole milk
    RECIPE
Melt butter and set aside. Combine warm water, and sugar, then whisk, cover with kitchen towel and set aside for 10 mins till frothy and foamy to indicate yeast is alive.
Next, sift flour, and measure 4 cups and re-sift, and combine sifted flour, salt, powdered milk, and nutmeg, and whisk together.
Now add whisked egg, warm whole milk, yeast mixture to dry ingredients in mixing bowl, and mix till a sticky dough is formed and drizzle in melted butter while continuing to mix for 10 more minutes and remove from mixing bowl onto a floured surface and Knead for another 10 minutes to further develop the gluten. Place dough in a bowl greased with butter, cover and place in a warm space such as oven, microwave, or pantry to allow for proofing for 60 mins.
Next, remove on to working area, and deflate dough, flatten, and form into a square of about an inch and a half thick and divide into 12 small parts and foam each into a roll or ball and place on a buttered, and flour sheet pan and proof again for 45 mins.
Preheat oven at 350°F, place a small pan of water in oven to generate steam to help prevent drying out of dinner rolls during baking. Then bake dinner rolls for 20 minutes and brush clarified butter or regular butter onto dinner rolls for presentation. Your soft, chewy, light weight dinner rolls are ready! Enjoy😋

Hi Nanaaba. Guess what? I just finished baking your dinner rolls and they came out absolutely fantastic! I used bread flour and followed your recipe to the letter exceot I used oat milk along with the powdered milk. The first rising proofed fairly quickly. I had to leave hone for about 4 hours and it multiplied about 3 times! The second proofing after I shaped the rolls I proofed for a little over an hour in hot kitchen and they doubled in size until they touched each other in the middle. I baked for 45 min at 350 f. They rose more and came out just as lovely as yours! I buttered the baked tops with vegan butter which I had handy! I'll taste them in the morning for Im going to bed now and dont want to eat any more calories to gain weight. But I know they'll taste super if they are anything like your sugar bread! Again thanks a bunch. One 💘.

Hi Nanaaba! Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Remember me Im the guy who tried your Ghanaian suger bread recipe and on the third try got it 100% right!!!
You know, I had a thought of trying the same bread recipe in roll form and voila! You came up with this video! Right on time! Very similar recipe exceptbfor the "secret" ingredient--- powdered milk! I also notice the common denominator of every Ghana bread product recipes is nutmeg! I think I'll try this recipe when time permits.

Marco, please use 1 tablespoon non dairy/vegan plain yoghurt as an equivalent substitute. Thank you 🙏🏾

If I use 2 cups of flour, do I half all the other ingredients?

Hello thanks a lot😁 but I don't have powdered milk. What can I do?

    • @NanaabasKitchen

The powdered milk is for added richness, and you may substitute with plain yoghurt or sour cream (1 tablespoon). I used the nido powdered milk brand. Thank you 🙏🏾💕

Thanks for this wonderful video, I followed your recipe but my bread has a salty taste, I don't know what exactly is wrong. I used plain flour not bread flour.

It hard to tell what went wrong. Please try again and follow the recipe to the “t” only thing I can think of is possible inaccurate salt measurement. 🙏🏽😘

I suspect your temperature might need regulating. Try preheating your oven first.

With what do you eat the dinner rolls?

    • @NanaabasKitchen
      @NanaabasKitchen  4 роки тому

They’re usually served as a starter with butter at a dinner table, however, you may have them as you would regular bread.
