I never took Hulk feeling “cold” as him dying. I took it as Hulk realizing that he was finally alone, and what that actually meant in a dead world with no one, and almost immediately regretting it.

I adore the ending of Hulk: The End because it fits so perfectly. Hulk gets what he wants, Banner is gone and Hulk is all there is and his final line I think is a realization of how what he wanted would never be satisfying. Hulks anger and hatred led Hulk to be the only thing left on a dead planet, now without even someone to hate.

I like how they viewed the last line “Hulk feels cold” I always viewed that as hulk wasn’t dying he just finally got what he wanted but never realized that he’s never ACTUALLY been alone because Bruce has always been there. Which to me adds the implication of further torture due to hulk realizing that he doesn’t actually want to be alone and that alone is….cold
Edit: I wrote this prior to finishing the episode. They got to the same conclusion 😂

I always saw Hulk wanting to be left alone because he doesn’t want people to get hurt because of him. But there’s probably hundreds of examples of classic stories of him jumping around and some nice person actually likes them and they get along and eventually some type of force rather be the military, the leader, etc. trying to use him for evil and that person is either hurt or killed. Hulk fights the bad guys and leaves wanting to be alone again so no else can get hurt.

I think Hulk saying he feels cold is actually more tragic than him dying. He says it as it pans to emptiness. I think him saying that is his realization of what he just lost.
Hulk and Banner hated eachother but they were all the other had left. Hulk felt like he would be free, that banner going away would make life so much better. With his death though hulk realized that there was no freedom, all he feels is cold and alone.

I'm actually rather mixed on Peter David's Hulk work as I've never really liked Professor Hulk (who takes up the bulk of his run) because I think he takes away from the inherit tragedy/struggle of the character. My reading on the Hulk is that Hulk doesn't actually want to be alone. he doesn't really hate Banner. He just doesn't want to submit himself to rejection or loss or emotional vulnerability. He doesn't want to be hurt. The big guy actually cares for Bruce Banner, its why hulk is always stopping bruce from death. And so hulk feeling cold at the end is him realising that he truly is alone now, and it sinking in what it means for that to be the case. Hulk got everything what he said he wanted at the cost of everything. It is hollow and unsatisfying.

Always enjoy when you review an Incredible Hulk comic book a she's one of my favorite characters!
Some of it probably had to do with being really young when the t.v. show was on for 4 seasons and watched it with my dad.
He's gone now and I'm not sure if he ever saw the MCU Hulk but I bet he would have liked it.

I like that this is very " I have No Mouth And I Must Scream".
Banner wants to die and Hulk is just like: " nah, bro. You're stuck here forever, bro.
Hey, check out that cool bug" until he's like " alright, I'm done. *Bleh.*"

The video was amazing, i hope you do more Hulk books in the future, it would be really cool to see you do his origins, the first issues like you did with Spider-Man. ✨️

I wonder if they used the Recorder who was heavily used in the Thor Silver Age. A different Rigellian Recorder of course cause Thor's died in the 90s.
