Yeah it's why the reed/doom dynamic is so fun. like reed is 2 steps away from straight up mad scientist and doom is like 2 steps and a little bit of therapy away from being a good guy.
I love how tiny the Ultimate Nullifier is and that it's so absurdly OP that the Devourer of Worlds has a bowel-loosening panic attack when Reed starts casually waving it around.
I would kill for a non-comics version of Back Issues. Like, isn't To Kill A Mockingbird all just one "let's go back, let's go back"?

As a Latin teacher, I do a Back Issues on the _Aeneid_ every year. Just like the comics here, there's a bunch of outside continuity that I have to give the kids for context.
Real talk, Sal has actually been an inspiration for part of my pedagogy.
Makes sense since Sal was a classroom teacher.

I would love a "The End" style story where all the heroes get their happily ever after, the villains are all rehabilitated, and peace is achieved: but the main protagonist of the book is unable to cope with a peaceful society and spends the whole book trying to adjust to a society that's outgrown superheroism
I feel like that's gotta be a Batman story on its face but you can do some interesting things with that premise with like Captain America or Spider-man.
Slightly off topic, but I feel like we need a Morbius-Deadpool crossover where Deadpool lets Morbius know that he will never be cured and have his happy ending because he's a popular spiderman villain, and see the crisis that comes with that

Can I just say how impressed I am at how deep Ethan and Bens knowledge is? Ethan name dropping the incursion at the end really surprised me. This show evolved so much from Sal explaining comics to two jockels(Ben's words, not mine, see Final crisis Back Issue). Back issues is a show I will always love to watch
Hopefully, you guys can do more Back Issues for Fantastic Four, like stories from runs like Stan Lee/Jack Kirby, John Byrne, Mark Waid, and Jonathan Hickman
I'd love to see more stories from Marvels beginnings. The Lee, Ditko, Kirby era stories you guys do are super fun.

This entire story was an allegory of WW2 from the cosmic tribunal sending the adjucator to the Fantastic Four sending the Hive to the Cosmic tribunal.
Wow, can't believe that Kevin Feige just annouced the Adjudicator as the next big bad of phase 4

Honestly, _The Count of Monte Cristo_ would make a really good comic series! Have the first issue be Edmond Dante's betrayal, the 2nd issue be him in prison, the 3rd his escape from prison, the 4th him establishing himself again, and then the next 20 issues his long-game of vindication! Get someone who's really at drawing really expressive faces to do the art (I'm picutring Brian Bolland)

The Last What If? Story "What If: Earth Became the New Cosmic Tribunal"
Ironically, I’ve only read the END of this story but never the whole thing
The Adjudicator should be like "Hey! I'm just here to tell you that your world is going to be destroyed. I'm not the one who's going to destroy it, okay? Even if you could hurt me - which would be like a minnow sinking a battleship, by the way - it still won't stop the Cosmic Tribunal from wiping you out. So, like, chill out and put your affairs in order. Jeez! And you wonder why you're doomed."
I wish I could remember the book, but there was a “mini story” where generic aliens are invading the Earth. The alien leader ordered someone to look up the information on Earth. The junior alien reports that Earth has repelled Galactus on two separate occasions. The next scene is the invasion force fleeing Earth

I can picture it now, Ben's making jokes about how a bunch of dude bros want to bang Telemachus' Mom, Sal's pointing out the symbolic significance of Odysseus' evolution from Dude Bro stuck on an island banging Calypso to mature into an elderly king, Ethan would shout "Let's Go Back, Let's Go Back" when they reach the part of the poem where Odysseus talks to the Phaeacians about his journey from Troy.

The bit about the Odyssey reminds me of a while back (maybe 75k live show?) when someone asked if there were any writers you guys still wanted to cover and Ben said "Kafka."

Great episode , a true reflection of humanity
I was so hoping this story was going to end with Reed getting Earth out of Hell by destroying Heaven.
I could really see Fantastic Four going to retire after committing genocide to save humanity. Like, the last story is the same as the first, but they tried to call his bluff. Reed did it, knows the cost, and knows that he shouldn't be seen as a hero and just leaves the planet.
This was great.

It really is! Love him or hate him (for mee its both), he's major literary figure or the last 50 years and virtually every comic writer worth mentioning in the English language has had to address one or more of his ideas at some point
