People can say chair force all they want but all these jobs including any speacial operations is gonna be more phisically demanding than infantry in marines or army. Speacial operations is the way to go. Enlisting with 18x next year
quick question... hasn't drones and satelites largely replaced SR's? when it comes to getting info on targets for future aircraft bombing missions, wouldn't drones pretty much solve that problem of recon, along with the ground assets that the Army and marine corps already have?
The only (that I'm aware of) company that makes an M-LOK FSP rail is Centurion Arms. Daniel Defense makes an pictinny version, similar to the MK18 rail.
Yup, they do. All the branches have mixed operations one way or another. The Marine aircraft could be operating from a nearby amphibious assault ship or air field closest to the USAF unit just as a USMC unit could have air support from the USAF.
TACP are by default attached to conventional units for conventional missions, unless the particular TACP tries for and passes a SOF TACP selection; CCT are all SOF by default, and are attached to SOF units. CCT get dive school and freefall as a standard portion of their pipeline, while TACP does not; CCT apprentice course includes demolition, small unit tactics, and other courses not in the TACP pipeline; CCTs are FAA qualified ATCs as standard, while TACPs are not; TACP primary tasking is CAS and calling indirect fires for the host unit, while the primary tasking of CCTs is airfield and/or LZ/DZ preparation and controlling of stacked aircraft tasked with landing, utilizing and/or protecting that airfield/LZ/DZ.
@@Texasmayne89 generally true, TACP works with the conventional US Army units (and sometimes the USMC) and CCTs work with the Rangers, SEALs, Green Berets, and sometimes MARSOC/Force Recon etc. Sometimes there are some (very few) TACP that go through dive school, jump school, Ranger school, etc and can he assigned to the Special Operations units and CCTs can work with conventional units.

from what I've watched/read the units they attach to don't have these guys up front breaching doors because they have guys dedicated to that stuff. the air forces guys usually stay in the back on missions and come up front when their role is needed. no reason to have your medic up front on a raid because if he gets hurt then everyone is fucked, same with cct, lose your ability to communicate with the planes and no more bombs to save your ass in a pinch. cqb is definitely not their bread and butter like the other units that focus a lot on cqb
