- In our first video in 2021 we're going to talk about acoustic guitars, and show you a special new series by the British guitar maker Atkin guitars.
Alister Atkin founded the brand in 1995 and last year they celebrated their 25th anniversary. All guitars are built by hand in their workshop in Canterbury, England. They’ve attracted some famous players along the way, such as Richard Hawley, Dave Grohl, Dolly Parton and Ed Sheeran.

I have the same model the J-43 Black Pearl (Aged) bought from the wonderful Guitar Village, Farnham in Surrey England.
(Best guitar shop in the U.K. in my opinion). It has amazing resonance, wonderful playability and looks exquisite.

I have an om essential. It’s a great guitar for fingerstyle. I picked it in the shop over martin, Collings and Santa Cruz (which I was initially willing to buy). I didn’t even know Atkins guitars at that time, but I was completely blown by how good the OM essential sounded and played. Loud, responsive to light touch, incredible sustain. Perfect for fingerstyle. The black pearl is really sweet. I wish I could give it a try.

I have a 47 relic , best thing I’ve ever played
I have a Fender acoustic. Not great, not terrible. Saving up though for something like this!
