  • I felt inspired to do some powerslides after reading an old book of mine: Scarred For Life. An interesting compilation of stories from skateboarders of many generations, origins and skills.

Never have I watched such a helpful and detailed powerslide tutorial! (Most are vague and non-descriptive) This was a great help man! 👍

I would recommend this tutorial if you want an even more in depth explanation about power slides. It's from longboarding but the concept is the same but with even more unforgiving grippy wheels. Balancing your weight on the front foot is very important and an experienced skater like Will Flores may feel so natural at riding than he didn't mentioned it. ua-cam.com/video/TO7qMj5N_VU/v-deo.html

Bro, you provide insights to tricks... that actually help to learn - been skating 20 years and didn't know how to powerslide ^^ thanks to you I did some long ass ones yesterday XD so fuckin fun --- it didn't occur to me that you needed that little 'hop' you talk about right before the actual powersliding part! It gets more fun : after a few successes, a kid comes to me and ask how it works ahah, I passed the knowledge you gave me to him and his friends were trying powerslides too! ahah everyone was powersliding around, so fuckin fun... ah thank you sir flores :)

Thankyou SO much for putting this up after I requested it a while back. There are a lot of tutorials up but nobody really explains this seemingly "basic manoeuvre" adequately enough. At least your vid finally does. I still think they're kinda scary for the first few times. What I would really like you to show here however are the b/s PLEASE, they're even more terrifying. Thanks for all your great content, it's a real help for sure.

Thanks for the video. I am recovering from a bone fracture and trying not to skate, just cruising around. Was trying powerslides and although I have the Bs, I've lost a bit of skin trying the Fs. Until the scabs are gone I can't even cruise. Need to learn to be patient and fully recover :)

What I found helpful when learning power slides was to do a little nose manual for a split second. This helped me get used to dragging my board in the side ways motion. He said “hopping motion”, if this doesn’t work for you, try a split second nose manual. 🙂👍
