This was a tough year to put this list together for - a few honourable mentions in there to cover my bases, and an upcoming "Missed Gems" video right around the corner too! Would love to hear about your favourites of 2024 as well, so drop 'em below. All of these games are on sale in the Winter Sale - if you haven't seen my video highlighting these and other great deals, you can check it out here - ua-cam.com/video/wnm_lA_yN2A/v-deo.html !
Love these videos so much, your scripts are crisp, your narration enthusiastic and clear. And above all else you're at a 100%hit rate for finding me games i love
Workers & Resources has spoiled all other city builder style games for me forever. It’s a hell of a steep learning curve, but it’s totally worth it. I picked this up after a Party video on it YEARS ago. I cannot recommend it enough.
I know PE asked for titles of other games than those in the video, but I have to mention that Satisfactory truly is fantastic. I put 333.1 hours into reaching 100% completion. One of the things that really stands out to me about the game that elevates it in my opinion is that in addition to the factory planning gameplay Satisfactory also has a strong exploration element. Whenever my brain got tired from thinking about logistics I would just go out and explore the map looking for more resources and other neat things to look at. According to my Steam Replay for 2024 Satisfactory took up 13% of my total play time throughout the year.
Enjoyed watching, have been looking all day for a game and all the top game lists never have much thought behind them i appreciate this list here and shadows of doubt definitely is a must play now
It is. But you can easily customize the difficulty. Disabling the different aspects of manegement. So its actually really easy to start playing. And slowly learn how it all works without having to manage it all at once. I really recommend you give it a try. It is such a satisfying city builder.
@@zerosnakemyth7274 the options of difficulty really are fantastic in that game. You really can customize your experience and just play chill sim city. Or you can eventually go full planned economy mode in Realistic and enjoy the complexity. Or anything in between!
Satisfactory is boring to me. Even Factorio is more insterestring. Most pleasant surprise for me is Norland. I wont say it is best game of the year but it is bigest surprise for me. positive surprise.
That’s interesting. Did they say what the percentage from previous years was? I.e. what percentage was of time in 2023 was spent on games released in 2023? Is it declining?
@@lrmunro I likes Wargame Red Dragon, Regiments, Broken arrow. It was not so tiring. Problem is in Warno you are commanding an army with micromanagement of a battalion.

Thanks for the video!
Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is certainly on my list. Also Mechabellum released into 1.0 this year as well, which is great fun.

Same, I blame PartyElite and Charlie Pryor for introducing me to this game
completely agreed. i cant play any other city builders..

"corn to cheese ratio"
Got me! :D
Can really recommend Warno, it's a great game and despite being difficult it's very satisfying.
Attention! Songs of Silence and the Shadowrun Trilogy are on discount. They are a good strategy and CRPG titles respectively.
Shadows of Doubt is such a good recommendation- it can be a lot of fun, and the depth of the in game world is mind-blowing.
No city builder can match WRSR
Merry Christmas Dude!
This popped up on my homepage 15s after being uploaded, nice.
Shadows of doubt melts my computer for some reason. Wish I could play it. Maybe there was an update improving performance so will check it out again
Question: Warno OR Steel Division 2?
They're the same game.
Do you like cold war or Ww2 more? thats the key question for this decission.
WARNO has slightly more QoL and better graphics, SD2 has more content.
How did i not know about shadows of doubt?? Looks amazing. Thx for the video. Gonna give it a try rn.
Enjoyed watching, have been looking all day for a game and all the top game lists never have much thought behind them i appreciate this list here and shadows of doubt definitely is a must play now
Thank You for making this video
This is what i need
Thanks for the recommendations and happy Holidays!
Workers & Resources looks so good aesthetically
My critique of your over use of the words "sits comfortably" sits comfortably at the top of most appropriate comments list.
Putting Balatro on the thumbnail but not talking about it at all is kinda wild :D It's arguably the biggest indie release this year.
What do you think about Frostpunk 2
I've held off on Workers & Resources Soviet Republic because it just looks incredibly complex.

Thanks for the video
WARNO is currently on sale everyone
I hate to be that guy, but is there ANY chance of planet zoo ever coming back?
Shadow of doubts 🥺🥰❤️
When will there be a new Soviet & Resources: Soviet Republic video? I miss those videos.
welcome back party! I hope to see more planet zoo in 2025!
Slow down!!! The 1.25x does not work. Second, sure appreciate FULL release games!!!!
no factorio space age? mistakes were made my dude.
Satisfactory easily goty
Satisfactory is awesome
Warno! Warno! Warno!

What about Civ 6/7 and Total War:Warhammer 3?
Shadows of doubt seems like a game with amazing gameplay, but I just can't stand those graphics.
What do you think about the report that Steam players only spent 15% of hours gamed on games which came out this year? 🤔
That’s interesting. Did they say what the percentage from previous years was? I.e. what percentage was of time in 2023 was spent on games released in 2023? Is it declining?
Playing Warno is too tiring for me. Scales must be smaller or control must be delegated.
Yeah - no interest in this sort of game where they’re not modelling command and control.

More like him trying his best not to spoil the results?
