hi, i'm from Brazil, i love your reactions, please react to this duo from Brazil - Sandy e Junior - second song start at 4:05 - ua-cam.com/video/9Y4RP88M1P8/v-deo.html
Hi:) I love your reaction videos, and as a singer it gives me so many great tips to consider! I was wondering if you could listen/react to something from tangled the series? Before you totally go saying no, (lmao yes ik it seems childish😂) but there’s this song called waiting in the wings (Eden Espinoza) and a song that it a duet called nothing left to lose between Eden and Jeremy Jordan and ahhhh it’s just phenomenal!
Hey there, I'm also brazilian, I would appreciate if you react to the brazilian portuguese version of that song, the singer in my opinion have a more powerful voice than the original.
I worked on Aladdin and was there when the big reprise was filmed. Alan Menken was on set that day and she sang it live. It was phenomenal - she blew everyone away that day. She's a true powerhouse of a performer, a real professional and an incredibly lovely person to boot.
Yeah, she actually sang it live I think, but obviously they put a pre recorded vocal over it, but her singing it live made it actually realistic to how she sings it anyways.
She sang the beginning part live. The rest was a rerecording of her studio version (a much better mixed one this time). Disney is terribly inconsistent and they over compress everything when they master vocals in studio.
She sang live and acapella, Alan menken was playing the piano in the room next to the set and she had an ear piece, but the rest of the crew, cast and director she was singing live and there's bts footage of this scene and them talking about it. The idea came after justin Paul and benj pasek did the same with Emma Stone in her audition song in la la land...
Unpopular opinion: I prefer the live action to the animated. I think mostly because of the additions/changes to Jasmine, making her a more fleshed out character. That, and I didn't have the nostalgia bias, since I didn't see the original until High School, and it had actually been kind of underwhelming.
As much as I like the song and her performance, ngl I just don't think the song and her singing style/voice type matched the style of rest of the soundtrack
Same thoughts, but I wish they could've directed this scene better. They could've saved more time if they just made Jasmine sing this while ACTUALLY confronting Jafar or that commander Hakim or wtv his name was. It also would've been nice to see Jasmine directly showing her frustrations towards the people who were telling her to shut up while putting them to action considering that in canon she's capable of doing it. I dunno, just my thoughts about this scene.
The crazy part is for the rest of the cast, crew and director she was singing acapella since she had an ear piece and Alan menken was in another room playing the piano while she was performing and singing live...there's a bts video of this and I cry everytime I watch it. Will Smith wasn't supposed to be there but he went to set just to see Naomi sing this song 😩 😭 ❤
Is behind the scenes of Aladdin, the just show Naomi recording and getting emotional and will was there, then don't show Alan menken but they said that in multiple interviews while promoting the movie
If i remember some behind the scenes info, when she gets to the first "I won't be silent" and the guards disappear, it is all a one take shot. No cuts. So, if someone makes a mistake, they start from the beginning again. It is one of the things that directors do in movies and TV shows that I love. It can show how hard the crew and actors work to get the perfect shot.
People think that it’s a mix between the live and studio version but in a behind the scenes video the production team said that she song it live and used it because they only took one take with one camera. So yes. The beginning of the video is live but so is the rest of the song in the second version. Everything was done live. If you listen, there’s certain things in her singing (like the strain in her voice at the high notes) that sound different than the studio version.
In Speechless part 2 she actually sang it live from the beginning up until the part where the guards disappears. There’s a behind the scenes footage of it and they actually talked about it as well. It’s also pretty obvious because the audio quality changes during the chorus part (where the guards disappears)
I went to watch this in cinemas in 2019 and this was the only song I could still remember some lyrics of several months after watching it. This song is beautiful, Naomi Scott is AMAZING!
This woman>>> and she has many songs, I think it would be nice if you react to them! I have no idea how she gets in such high and low notes in Vows. Also she's been in Lemonade Mouth which is a classical and has that really nice song "She's So Gone" sung by Naomi
It’s a shame that this song does not blend with the original soundtrack, like at all, because it’s a great song and performance. But its a completely different style of music.
Yess I remember months ago I specifically told you to react to this and u did cuz u knew she had more vocal potential well this is it. Cant wait for the reaction❤❤
Speechless is hands down one of the best real life action Disney songs ever to be sung. I just love how they portrayed Jasmine differently from the original cartoon and made her stand up for herself instead of waiting for her prince/Aladdin to come save her. Honestly speaking, the damsel in distress trope in Disney Princess is really overrated and over used so seeing them differently portray Jasmine in the live action really made Aladdin the best Disney Princess Live Action remake ever. I love this song so much that upon finish watching Aladdin this version, I’d immediately search for this song and had it on replay, so addicting and it still is music to my ears!!
I'm late but one thing I wanted to add is that I personally think the reason why she sang it more softly in the first scene and strongly in the second was to represent jasmine's character development but I could be wrong
Naomi Scott has an incredible voice and she is not afraid to use it.... I have been watching Naomi grow as an Actress and Singer since 'Lemonade Mouth'. Her technical singing skills are top notch while her physical delivery skills really connect with the audience. Naomi is British and her normal daily conversation has a wonderful Brit accent. Yet, when singing there is no trace of accent. I know other Brits who completely loose their British accents while singing also. Audrey, I really enjoy your style of music review. Not only that, but you can sing as good as the best of them. Your knowledge is very apparent. I subscribed and will be waiting for next review.
I never watched this movie, but when I saw the video with this song and this actress at first (that was 2 years ago), I fell in love with it 👍👏🥰 She's really talented, and this song suits her voice very well. Later I found out that this is a movie called "Alladin", and she is a female lead
yeah, you could tell from little gasps she does that it was life. another factor are the veins in her neck. that is her putting her night into that song
This reminds me of the singer Sunyeol. Sunyeol is a 25 year old korean who literally has the vocal range of an angel...it's so high most girls are not even able to pull it off. He made a cover of this song...and it was so good that's why I remember it. I recommend anyone who sees this comment to check out his cover...it's actually sensational. And yes it is a HE... Here is the link> ua-cam.com/video/lsBKyVthXSQ/v-deo.html
Yes, in the final edit of the movie, she is singing live until, I think, she throws open the doors. She talks about it in an interview, how the whole first part was sung live and in one take. I think she sang the whole thing on set, but they didn’t use all of the live material. You can tell the difference from the first part and the second, how it went from live to studio, still amazing either way.
Audrey, I would love to hear you respond to the "Balcony Song (Tonight)" from West Side Story (2021) when the film is out of theaters. A comparison of the 1961 version to the 2021 version would be amazing as well! I think Rachel Zelger has a gorgeous tone, and the song has all the traditional orchestra-Broadway feels!
I'd especially love to see her react to Balcony Song (Tonight) and A Boy Like That/I Have A Love, but I think if she did a series of videos on all the West Side Story songs once it's on Disney+ in March that'd be awesome.
@@hierophantpurple5163 definitely! Rachel and Ariana put on the performance of the entire film in A Boy Like That/I Have a Love! I was in tears. Your idea is a great one!
You should check out Hunchback of Notre Dame the musical. It's very beautiful music and the singers are amazing, especially the person who plays Quasimodo. It's such a great musical. The animated one is great too, but the stage adaption is wonderful!
Yes the Disney stage version is what made me fell in love with Michael Arden. He just dissolved into Quasimodo seamlessly like I didn't even see that he was acting anymore. Oh and Ciara Renee has the perfect voice for this role: smooth, rich and warm
There is a behind the scenes video of filming this exact scene. They wanted here to lip sing it like they do for a lot of films and music videos. But she actually sings the song when acting all of this instead of playback it. I don’t know if they used that version in the film or if it was a recorded version you heard. But the cool thing is, she is actually singing in this clip. So I like listening to reactions on her singing in this scene because it’s not staged and its exactly how she would open her mouth to sing those notes.
Yay!!! I love the movie version. You should react to the Latin American Spanish movie version of the song (sung by Annie Rojas, who dubbed Jasmin for the movie).
I subscribed when you did surface pressure and I am not disappointed. I have no idea about singing. I am pretty sure I make people's ears bleed when I sing 🤣 but hearing you explain the science behind singing is fascinating. I am learning so much about singing I never had a clue about. Many songs stir a huge amount of emotion in me. Avril's song, head above water, made me cry when I first heard it and I wonder if it's just the lyrics or if there is more to it then that now.
Fun fact, at least that first part of the song was raw. I believe I just watched that the change to the recording was as she's turning around from the guards!
So happy you watched this clip and saw how amazing she is in this and in this outstanding performance she gave all around. It'll forever make me mad this song didn't get the love and appreciation it deserves 😭❤
I wish she would React to the Brazilian Portuguese version, the notes are so high, although she probably wouldn't understand it i think she would like it 🥺❤🇧🇷
I would love to see you react to the brazilian portuguese dubbed version of this song. It is called 'Ninguém Me Cala' and it's amazing. The singer is called Lara Suleiman, and she is AWESOME. The best thing about the Aladdin live action was Naomi as Jasmine and them adding 'speechless'. Change my mind.
I completely agree

Naomi is such an amazing performer. She can act, she can dance (she did some good moves on this film) and she can definitly sing. She's so underrated
