So kane is basically saying shut up and wait till we get knocked out before you criticise us. We are expected to accept this tripe we are being served up and we are not allowed to say its not good enough. They are representing the nation and they are humiliating themselves aswell as the country. Kane needs to do his talking on the pitch.
And start running on the pitch occasionally. Against Denmark he broke into a trot 3 times in 70 minutes. He should be leading by example Pressing, trying to get to the ball. None of which was evident against Denmark. Southgate should be sacked. When he started the job he got rid of the dead wood and selected on form. He soon forgot that and we ended up with a different set of favourites. No one, not even Kane, can defend Southgate's excuse of saying we missed Philips. A man that has hardly a game in 3 years and can't even get selected on the bench for his club.

This tournament has had some great football, teams trying to win, some good games and some good goals, England are the worst team by far, negative, passive, stand off, just ridiculously slow to the point its astonishing. Yes for the players England have they are humiliating themselves and the country.

The ones loved by Southgate certainly are. The ones he selected for the squad as a reply to criticism and are in form can't get on the pitch. Gordon for a start would play his heart out. Foden is not a winger and should be playing instead of TTA. Kane should retire from international football all together and let either of the alternatives have a go running around the pitch instead of Kane strolling around contributing nothing. Southgate's biggest mistake and the one he should be sacked for was not selecting a FIT left back. The only LB who is there, is injured with little chance of recovering in time. The alternative is Tripper who is a right back although he has defended well cannot seem to overlap from the wrong side.

Football has always been the same in this country, delusional press, delusional fans, pundits who get paid to be controversial. England are a tier 2 football nation, the expectation that we will win something is laughable. We are in the same bracket as Denmark, arguably Holland and so on. We are nowhere near winning a tournament, our best chance was the Euro final at home and Southgate and the players threw it away.

We had the same with Rooney for England. When the midfield can't get hold of the ball and control the game the Strikers feel obliged to drop back and help. The problem with England is their midfield has not been able to really control any game played so far.

No player is undroppable. No player above criticism. England have an amazing squad. Kane is a Giroud, but Giroud is happy to be a sub when needed late on while younger players take the stage.

What we SHOULD remember is the role foreign players play in the teams we revere in the Premiership.

This season Moises Caicedo scored a wonder goal almost from the half way line. He played the ball out from the goal line under severe pressing pressure from Bournemouth.
I doubt were he English he would have bothered.

In my opinion the 1st game the players and Southgate got some criticism, 2nd match the pundits were critical of the Southgate, because they realised it was his tactics causing them to play that badly.
We aren't enterprising. We don't attack like we mean to score. We defend like it's the 96th minute, and we have literally zero creativity / plan. It's like watching Spurs at their worst - and I'm a lifelong Spurs and England supporter, so I feel well placed as a balanced observer to say this.

The problem is England's manager, he has never won anything in the game, how can we expect him on that basis to be inspirational. Foden, Bellingham, even Kane have been stand out players in their respective leagues this year, Southgate gets hold of them and they end up looking positively mediocre.

Kane is a great striker, as was Lineker, however he might not necessarily be a great captain.
However, I think Kane is being hamstrung by the manager's line-up choices, and tactics.
England seem to be content to score then wait around for their opponents to equalise.

This pundits versus players thing has been going on since well before even Lineker was playing for England. It's nothing new. Pundit says something about performances, and players fire back about how the pundit would've felt about it when they were playing. Even Harry said that he might be saying similar things as a pundit when he's in his 40s or 50s. The big difference here is maybe the 'swearing comment' that Lineker used, which has given the players an excuse not to acknowledge the legitimate criticism that Lineker made.

A manger who is tactically inept and a captain who has won nothing. Two people who are supposed to lead this team to greatness but have no experience of consistently performing at the highest level for the top honours. Rotten from the top. The difference between inverted rb in possession to actual midfielder is night and day. Klopp never thought TAA was a midfielder but apparently GS knows otherwise. Trippier is never a left back and probably isnt even the best rb at his club (livramento) and foden on the wing is utterly pointless. But these players are being hung out to dry by the cluelessness of GS and his staff. To have wharton sat ready to do his job so you get the best out of rice and Bellingham but not give him a minute is a joke. He wont drop kane or foden as doesn't have the bottle so unless some miracle happens tonight then this dross will continue until we are tonked in the last 16 or quarters. The guy is a yes man and polite face of the FA but he is DEFINITELY NOT an international standard coach
I don't think Southgate knows how to use the players. Tactically speaking, he is very poor and the players are just following his instructions. It's no suprise that the performances on the pitch are awful
I am wondering just what instructions Southgate gives out. I can rarely see any pattern of play. The performances are built on mediocrity.
