I would add that the healing from sin is exactly what Isaiah was talking about in Isaiah 53. Though it should be easily discernable from those passages, unfortunately, there is much false teaching concerning healing using these passages from Isaiah and Peter. To clear up what Isaiah is talking about when it comes to healing we need to go back to the first chapter of Isaiah. 1:3-6 Isaiah is describing people who are sick from sin from their heads to the soles of their feet. It is this sickness that Jesus heals in us. It is this sickness Isaiah has in mind when he says "by his stripes, we are healed" as does Peter. This is not to say Jesus doesn't heal sometimes from physical sickness, but we cannot use these passages for that purpose.
Totally agree! Yet many people also point out the way matthew quotes Jesaja in chapter 8 verse 16. I would be Interested in how you interpret this. I myself have thought a lot about it but i would like to know your view. Greetings from Germany
