Interesting mods for sure! I like the roller in the shackle idea, I first thought you were just running the line through there and wondered how often the pin came undone.
DAMN !!! At 1:07 where you are winching the right front track ... is the a-arm broke or are you just lifting the track out of the snow ?? And was a huge log you got high centered on ... and that was a bad rollover ... Love that bumper. The dual winch & battery set up is pretty slick too. I can see those mods plus the track lift tool could save some digging for sure. So, nice set up !!
when winching front track out of snow , track was partially flipped and digging down causing stuck , this easy method works good ( lift track , kick snow under , let track down , drive out ) , I used chain links on front bumper and side frame of track ,, the log yes was high centered partially from snow plow mounts but trail needed to opened up and you can not see in vid. that tree went up a hill and could not go around it plus across ditch ,, made front bumper and moved winch into it now less problems with winch line building up and not seeing problem till to late ,,, using dual batterys , one battery powers winches and factory battery only powers bike ,,, using a odesy battery for a side by side for winches , have wiring and switch to connect batterys for charging , ( all three bikes in vid have dual batterys and green cat also has second winch ) ,, also have a 2 inch custom lift in bike ,, ( old 2013 can am 1000 was aprox 2 inches more clearance so build a lift for this xt , , some the heigh difference was tires but was to low the way it was ) , glad you enjoyed , by for now
You've done some awesome mods to your XT. I had dual batteries on my 2011 Can-Am, but haven't came across the need to do that on the 2014 1000 I currently own. I do like the front bumper & the rear winch thou.
Nice to see people prepared with the right equipment and knowledge to get out of situations like that in the back country.
