    I'm a flat lander and enjoy trail riding vid's over trackin but that was awesome. Who needs a snow mobile when you have those tracks. Good thing you built those fender extenders. You would not be able get off the machine otherwise. There was enough snow blowing over as it was. It was amazing how the back tracks dug down in 2 wheel drive. Smart buy gunny.

      HAHAHAHA !!! ... If you ever try track'in you won't want to go back !! WOO HOO !!! Glad you enjoyed the video My Friend !! Yeah, I almost didn't want to put the fender flares on, but dang, with that wind, I don't think any fender flare would keep it off of a guy !! ... HAHAHAHAHA !!! I agree, those tracks dug a hole real dang fast in 2WD ... and I'm sure glad they got me out in 4WD, because that would of been a lot digging I would have had to do !!! ...
      Thanks for stopp'in in to check out the video David Intulsa, much appreciated !!

    Ok Gunny, it looked like you were having a little too much fun there! lol How deep is the snow up there now, looks like you were dug all the way down to the dirt in that snow bank, cool you made it out without the need of the shovel. Looks like you should be able to get some cool shots with your new camera too. It has a nice and clear picture. Your beast is looking good with the new tracks. Watch out for Squatch!! WooHoo!

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому +1

      No Way !?!? I was having just about enough fun ... but I could had more I'm sure ... HAHAHAHA !!! The snow is only about 40 inches up there right now. There should be close to 65 or 72 inches this time of the year. Down lower is almost scary to ride across open areas because a lot of stuff can hide under the snow. I was so impressed the new tracks got me out of that hole ... and way happy I didn't have to do any digging either ... HAHAHAHA !!!
      The new camera did OK, I just need more time using it.
      THANKS, it is a BEAST now !! Watch'in for the Big Hairy Guy all the time Cubbee ... Thanks for reminding me thou ... HAHAHAHA !!!
      Glad you enjoyed the video My Friend & THANK YOU for watch'in it !!

    Looking good Gunny. It doesn’t sound like you’re machine was working very hard for those conditions. I bet you get the camera angle right next time lol.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      Thanks Koberstein Guy ... The machine was working about the same as it did with the Tatou's really. I was running in high gear a lot. However, I also used low a lot to. Still figuring out these tracks & how the bike reacts.
      Yeah, I bet I do check the camera angle a lot more often in the future .... sigh ............
      Glad you enjoyed the video My Alaskan Friend & Thanks for watch'in too !!

    Gunny, the camera angle can be changed. Not to worried about that. The new tracks allow you to travel into deeper ❄. My concern with the new tracks is the lifting ❄. Are you experiencing more flying snow ? The bike seems to covered in much more powder than in past videos.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому +1

      Yes, the camera can be ... & will be changed ... HAHAHAHA !!! Lifting more snow ?? Not really. It all depends on the snow, how dry it is, or fluffy & how much the wind is blowing. If you view some of older tracking video's with the Tatou's, I get just as covered in snow. For instance, watch the video LaPlatta To The Drifts 31 Jan 2017 and look at the bike at the 5:09 mark, or the video Another Snowy Windy Ride 07 Mar 2017 at the 4:05 mark ... Snowy !! WOO HOO !! I LOVE the new tracks ... let's hope they don't get me into trouble because they do perform so well !!
      Glad you enjoyed the video Matt Guy, and THANKS for check'in it out !!

    Gunny, what model camera do you have thats tracking you? Oh....and another nice video.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      Glad you enjoyed the video Newfiestang Guy. I was using a Soloshot 3. They're fairly new & it can be a challenge using one I'm finding.

    • @Newfiestang50
      @Newfiestang50 7 років тому

      Ok thought it may have been the Soloshot but figured I would ask. So are you happy with that camera....sounds like its got some bugs to work out.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      Am I happy with the camera ?? Yes & not so much. It's not as easy to set up as they advertised, and the setup to get it to track you is a little bit of a pain when you're in 3 or 4 ft of snow. As you saw in this video, the zoom focus is slow. You'll see It's even more so in the next video. Is it from the cold ?? Not sure & haven't received any replies to my question. But when it works, it's pretty cool. I will admit to, I'm still kind of learning how to use it. I just wish the zoom focus was better in the cold.

    What's your top speed with the new tracks? Happy New Year!

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      Ummm ... I'm not sure, since that isn't why I bought tracks. I bought them to go thru the snow ... fast or slow, it's all good to me. I will say thou, at times, I try to go as fast as I can ... WOO HOO !!
      Happy New to you as well Michael Tassie Guy !!

      I know I get about 25mph out of mine and the RPMs are screaming

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      I did hit 30mph for a bit on the hardpack before I let of the throttle & I think the bike was turning about 7200 or 7400 something rpms ... about the same as the Tatou's. I mean, I think any bike with tracks going fast is going to be turning some high rpms because no matter how large the drive sprocket is, it's still smaller than stock tires .... WOO HOO !!!

  • @yveskc1
    @yveskc1 7 років тому +1

    That make all the difference. Do you still have the alluminum skid plates on? Did you gain in speed ? Thanks for sharing and happy new year GunnyE9 guy!

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      Huge difference My Friend. Nope, took the aluminum skid plates off & made some out of other material the snow won't stick to. I don't think I gained any speed, but I didn't push it real hard to try & see what I could do.
      Thanks ... glad you enjoyed the video, Thanks for watch'in & Happy New Year to you as well Yveskc1 !!!

    How is your top speed with the backcountry tracks? Also, Are you in High gear all the time?

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      Top speed without the Backcountry Tracks ?? You mean with tires ?? If so, I've hit 65mph ... and figured that was fast enough.
      I usually do ride in high with the tracks. Even the Backcountry Tracks. But with the Backcountry Tracks, I also use low range a lot too. Still figuring out these tracks. Also, I have after market clutches. QSC Rev X primary & an STM Gen II secondary with a 50/40 helix, gold spring, & 3 shims.
      Hope you enjoyed the video and THANKS for watch'in Benthepcsurgeon Guy !!!

    Sorry Gunny, that was fat fingers adding their own commentary. Meant to type top speed with the new tracks. Since the hub diameter is larger than your previous version. Seems also you new fabricated genders are working well.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  7 років тому

      Oh, well, I did hit 30mph on the hardpack once. But I'm not try'in to go real fast with tracks. In the powder, in high ... or was it low ?? I hit 22mph once ... No really. But I did that with the Tatou's too, so ...
      Yup, the new fabbed fender extensions did real well. PRAY FOR SNOW DUDE !!!
