@@aiden6559 I suppose he can try tackle the differences in their artificially, since Albedo, the Shogun and the Wanderer aren't all the same I that regard: if you go to Dragonspine with those three and aren't standing by a fire or braiser, you'll notice that while "Mother" and "Son" have no breath mist, Albedo **does**. Also, in the Wanderer's "About the Captain" voice line he mentions his "mechanical" ears and their need for maintenance.
Scaramouche said he doesn't need to eat since he's a puppet, he looks like to also need maintenace as we saw in the capitano voiceline

Matpat's entire theory can fall apart by the one simple fact that "Teyvat has its own laws".
He's only relating the elemental reactions of Dendro in the game to the actual real-life science that the devs could've (or not) based the reactions to.
We need to save that argument for when he says something doesn't work lol

On the topic of genshin impact, I'd love to see a full breakdown of the genshin impact lore. Not just the main lore but also subcategories such as the sun children etc.

How? I got into whole inazuma lore, and if you want to cover every note, Yae's books, hints, ei and Scara story, enkonomia, etc., it's already getting ridiculously big. I mean, genshin has a lot of lore inside. He would have to make multiple part explenation what is already going on and then start making theroise for another 3 episodes. Its too big for him imo. Besides fandom is already getting salty for his shallow understanding on what is really happening. Too big expectation for him to nail it. I would watch it tho:)
I mean the sunchildren's lore basically been covered by all the hidden quests in Enkanomiya in which they were just ordinary children chosen by the corrupt nobles as puppets and then burnt inside the dainichi mikoshi before they fully mature into adults. Enkanomiya is pretty much done and it doesn't seem they'll expand on the region as with Dragonspine.

Electro isn't supposed to be JUST electricity. There is a video on the Genshin Impact UA-cam channel where the devs explain that each element is based on a concept. Electro is the concept of energy and dendro is the concept of life. Life + energy makes growth.

A deep dive in Genshin lore would be very complicated especially since it has many connections to some other games (like Honkai) which also contain a huge amount of lore

Another fun fact, the devs did research on this stuff before Sumeru release. On their official UA-cam channel, they talk about what they went through as they were planning the Dendro reactions.

Problem is that many UA-camrs have covered those topics before, mat pat specialises more in comparing game logic to irl logic so a topic that would be more fitting is artificial life (albedo, raiden puppet, sacra etc) or even the Irmunsul.

I can’t get over how dendro doesn’t have a reaction with anemo, cryo, and geo. Seed of a plant can get carried far using the wind, plants wither under cold climate, plant buried their roots deep under ground, YOU CAN DO SO MUCH
Yes, but it is actually a specific reason why its only those 3 elements have reactions and it’s related to the lore. It was said in a interview with the devs that dendro was the final peice in the elemental puzzle which can be taken literally. Since if you were to draw up all of the elements and connect them by their reactions in a particular way, it creates the appearance of a symbol called the tree of life. I can’t remember it all of the information on why this is important so I can’t do it justice but if I find the vid I’ll add a link cuz it’s a really well made analysis but to make a long story short, just like every single other tiny detail, it has a freaky amount of symbolism and meaning to Genshins overarching story.

i think the reason why they didn't add a reaction for cryo and dendro was cuz if it were to act like a wither or brittle reaction (I would assume decrease resistances) it would probably be too close to superconduct?

Before dendro was released, there was an interview with the game devs explaining dendro and its reactions. Though Bloom and Burning made sense, and they said was based on real life, any electro reactions with dendro were “new reactions” that they made up, probably to satisfy the communities demand for “electro buff” that they’ve been begging for.

It’s a shame that MatPat won’t dive deeper into the lore of this game. There are so many secrets hidden in dialog and books relating to the archons and the history of teyvat, all the way to the future and predictions for the end of the game itself. The devs put in so much research into real world religions and cultures! It’s kinda sad that all the theories MatPat does about genshin are surface level predictions and discoveries. The fact that he only makes these theories when he’s sponsored is a little sad too. At least there’s other channels that actively look through and read the deeper lore hidden within the game
Would love to see he collab with someone like AshiKai, just like he did in the DHMIS video in Film Theorists, anyway, I still have hope that one day MatPat will talk about demon gods and how the main character can be actual lucifer lol.

I'd absolutely love a video about the abyss! It's a major part of the story and has many mysteries and secrets behind it. Or, another idea, a theory video about Fontaine! Fontaine's archon quest is the next archon quest in Teyvat and there's a lot of speculation going around about its potential storyline.

To be clear the DEVS said in the 3.0 Special program that the reason why electro and dendro work together is because of the ideal they represent, eternity and Wisdom respectively but in the case of the reaction is more like Energy and Life.

I mean, concepts are usually just guiding pillars. The smaller decisions usually involve plenty of research. Additionally, the very concepts they've chosen as the guiding pillars may themselves be the product of research.

@@1990tcyta I'm not sure if they've discussed every element's core concepts, but in the Dendro video they said Dendro's three keywords are "catalysis, wisdom, and life," one of Hydro's is "recovery," and one of Electro's is "energy."
0:21 there's a sister element to Dendro which the wiki calls 'wood' and it actually only reacts with Pyro
I liked this theory or whatever you wanna call it, but I wish there would have been more, like you know an actual theory? Since Sumeru’s archon quest for patch 3.2 and 3.3 have given us a lot of lore ever since Nahida gave Dottore the Electro and Dendro Gnosis, she dropped a huge lore bomb about the four descenders and our sibling, but who knows, it might be months until he makes a new theory about Genshin, we might even get Fontaine by then 😔

The amount of lore and theory potential in this game is insane and matpat chooses trying to explain the most loose "trust me bro" mechanic that is elemental reactions to dig into
All very cool to see how the dendro reactions have real world counterparts-ish. Though I curious how he could connect the oft forgotten reaction of Burgeon. Dendro+hydro+Pyro basically making the seeds from bloom landmines that explode on command.
The "on command" part is obviously for gameplay purposes, but, going off of this video, the explosions can be attributed to the same thing talked about with lightning striking a tree. Heated water becomes steam. When trapped inside a plant, this generates enough pressure to explode out. Basically, just think of it like popcorn.
@@SgtSupaman actually, there are some plants that disperse their seeds this way! Touch-me-not is a particularly well known one, and the sandbox tree has fruits that explode when they ripen and can fling their seeds up to 100 meters away. There are also some plants whose seedpods explode upon contact with water, or when they ripen, or just come into contact with anything.
There’s heaps of plants we have in Australia that spread their seeds through fire.
It would be cool to see MatPat do more videos on Genshin. There’s a lot of topics to cover from Khaenri’ah to Irminsul, Dainsleif to what happened with our twin, and literally anything that has to do with Venti.

I think that won't happen because there is a plenty of UA-cam channels based only on Genshin lore theories already.
Genshin lore folks gatekeep HARD and will tear theories with even the slightest mistakes to shreds. It's wise for him to not touch the lore when there are other channels that come up with theories bound to be more accurate

And if it would be physically possible to reach his level of strength in the real world? Considering he can punch hard and fast enough to catch fire, and for his arms to blend together

you do gain cards from beating certain npcs and characters but you just cant trade them with actual human players
They're trading cards in the world of genshin and in the lore. You're just unable to trade them in gameplay.
Hey Matpat! This video is AMAZING! I love what videos you made but would you also make Genshin theories based off of lore? There is SO MUCH lore to the point some theorists sometimes have to dig much more deeper bc there's books, archon quests and a whole lot more. This video is amazing btw. Also, combining bloom with pyro creates Burgeon, which boosts your attack a ton too.
I mean plants can count as fuel so by feeding fire more fuel ,it grows and become dangerous
It doesn't boost your attack
It does aoe damage
It's a C4
It scales with EM too. So not really boosting your attack per say.
Some plants use the fire for germination.
I know these come out based on whether mihoyo sponsors these videos, but how about a who or what is Paimon theory?
there are a lot of such theories in the community already, and most of the theorists are highly specialized on genshin lore, and probably know these things better than matpat. He probably only does genshin theories that are less lore and more science/economic (the zhongli one). (there's also the fatui one but it doesn't really count)
I was honestly wondering if we were ever going to see Dendro in anything other than the enemies you fight. And now we do!

As much as I wanna be surprised by this theory I think that the devs at Mihoyo talked about some of the research that went into the dendro reactions during a livestream prior to the release of Sumeru. It's still fun to watch this tho,,, even if I'm waiting on the Fnaf timeline lol

Not quite Mojang put out a monster book with a creepers anatomy, they have TNT blocks inside their body
@@privateuser3726 True, but then why does the explosion get bigger when the Creeper is charged. TNT could be the reason it explodes by default but this could be the reason the explosion gets bigger. Since lightning could possibly super charge the gun powder in the TNT. I'm not really qualified to give an explanation just food for thought.

5:30 The first thing you have understand is that water is not a conductor. You can test this quite easily. Fill a dish with purified water and run a Circuit through it, the circuit won’t complete. Do it again with tap water and the circuit will work just fine. It is the impurities within water that allow electricity to flow through it.
I know you're doing these theories due to sponsors and everything but I genuinely feel like you could cover a lot of what this game has to offer. Albedo is a major lore heavy character I feel like honestly you would really enjoy. ^^

But the rest of this video is quite interesting and those that succeeded in stimulating more plant growth probably found the correct amount of electrical stimulation. While those that had negative results probably overdid it.
I'd love for you to do more videos on Genshin. The game is FULL of lore and there are so many theories out there. I think it's fun to explore the pieces of lore in different books and hidden corners of the world. It's like a scavenger hunt, but for nerds 😌
You really shouldn’t mention books if you want to make matpat want to make theories about a game’s lore plus genshin is giving him money if he started doing them willingly they wouldn’t

matpat is under a sponsorship contract, if he even has a chance to give the community some conformation that "yes, this bit of lore is canon" due to the theory being under a sponsorship by the game he is being sponsored by, then the community would go crazy.

Interesting thing about the word Dendro, a dendrogram is a "hierarchical clustering algorithm" like a family tree or a program that computes a descending algorithm (from what I understand of programming). Also, the Dendron/tree translation is interesting as the Irminsul, the tree that records everything that happens in Teyvat, is like a big computer!
To be honest, the first one sounds more like burgeon. The heat (heat = pyro) from the lightning is causing the trees to explode, just like how pyro makes bloom seeds explode.
Can't wait for the yearly Genshin video next year.

My favourite hyper bloom team is nahida as E as the dendro applicator, then barbra as the Bloom generator, and kuki as the catalyst to activate hyperbloom, causing dendro to be re applied and the cycle continues
This just further proves that Yae is getting more and more valid with Aggravate, it's like she's premade for Aggravate teams.

Fischl is very much universal like Xingqiu, Xiangling and Bennett, all of them can support many teams with great outcome, but it's just that, support. Yae is, tbh, a grown up Fischl, but she fits on the Aggravate niche better, as she does most is being a Sub DPS with premium teams.
