I enjoy your vids... I am looking at buy the new 1500 duramax... however out of curiosity what dash cam and more importantly video overlay of all the vehicle parameters are you using? Cheers and thanks.
Thank you. I am using a Pixel 2 phone with the Torque Pro app and the Track Record add on installed both can be found on the play store from Ian Hawkins. They connect to the truck via the OBDLink MX Bluetooth module. You can use other OBD modules bit it won't refresh as fast.
I believe you need to have the pro version to add additional PIDs. I have a video and links to some of the stuff I have added to mine. Check it out. ua-cam.com/video/sS_CPrwMj5U/v-deo.html
Did you do the run in sport mode ? What have you experienced in sport mode in terms of differences ? I just got a 2020 3.0 RST with many options. I saw a sport mode on tow-haul to the right that can be selected.
Congratulations on the new truck. I did not do the run in sport mode. This mode does nothing for power output of the engine, it changes the throttle mapping and the shift points so you would notice how "peppy" it feels or how quickly it will down shift. The engine will stay in a lower gear longer and you might notice a small drop in fuel economy. Mine has touring, sport and off-road modes. Off-road mode makes the throttle less sensitive so you can have more precise torque control. Thanks for the question, I will add this to my list of videos to do. Keep me posted on how you like your truck.
If you like the Regal, either sport back or TourX, you only have a few more months to order one or I would say less than a year to buy one. They are both on the chopping block for 2020. I would love to have a TourX but it's not going to happen for me :(. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@111danish111 It's a nice car but I'm a V8 guy all day... although, the Regal chassis is the same as the Chevy SS... so it's able to be converted to not only V8 but RWD 😈

I studied internal combustion engine design in college and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree over 25 years ago and have been writing software for almost 36 years. For the last 28 years I have been working in the field of data acquisition and test engineering in the Detroit metro area. These things and my fascination with diesel engines, turbo charging, and emissions systems has kinda brought me to this point. I have traveled to Europe in the past and at every opportunity rented diesel vehicles just to be disappointed that we couldn't have them in the USA due to there reputation and emissions issues. Since 2002 I have purchased 8 different vehicles with diesel engines and continue to learn from each one. I'm definitely not an expert but I do try to understand as much detail as I can about each engine design, mostly a hobby at this point in time :)
Official times aside how does the diesel feel by seat of the pants compared to the 5.3? I drove a 5.3 and I’m sure it’s plenty quick for a truck but it felt pokey. Had to give it more gas than I’m used to really get moving.
Seat of the pants is great with the Duramax. I believe some of that is because of the 10-speed transmission but for sure it is the torque that is available down low. The place you will miss it is on the absolute top end. With only 277 hp you will want to stay down in the PRMs and the transmission does a great job at doing that. Super easy to pass but don't expect to will a drag race :)
With the latest crack down on off road tunes I'm not sure when a tune will be available. I would really like to see Gale Banks do something and if the engine is popular enough they might :)
This thing's got potential for sure

How did you get your regen cycles? Is that torque pro? I got torque lite and don't have it

That Lucerne caught my attention
How about that white Regal . Saw a regal Regal TourX wagon the other day interesting looking car.

How did that time compare to the Diesel Colorado?
The Colorado was at least 1.5 seconds slower.
@@CJIEngineering Good to know. I was wondering if the added power was going make a difference in the bigger truck.
Hello tell us how you started, you seem to have some technical understanding.

Only 14 psi boost,a lot of potential with a tune when available
Possibly, I think it gets to about 21 psi if it has a higher load on it, like a trailer or weight in bed. I'm still learning :)
@@CJIEngineering Do you think these will be available to tune anytime in the near future? Aren't they making harder and harder to crack?
With the latest crack down on off road tunes I'm not sure when a tune will be available. I would really like to see Gale Banks do something and if the engine is popular enough they might :)
I hate that auto stop shit, I always turn mine off the second I start my truck, I'm not hating your video I'm just sayin
