bro, you don't need to apologize for the scripts not being flashy. anybody whose been doing content for a while values saving headaches in the workflow and efficiency over shiny gimmicks. keep up the great work!
I don't know if anyone else does this but I've got a pretty much fully-universal marker solution - have a button (or in my case midi pedal) that triggers in OBS a loud ping on an audio track that doesn't go out over the livestream, or your speakers, or headphones, but can very easily be seen in your video editing timeline in it's own audio track, so you can easily jump straight to them.
A loud buzzer would work too.
if you have enough spare channels, you could get creative and have one channel for the "start" marker of significant events, and one as the "end" marker, or have two different sounds, one is a ping with a long ringout, the other is the same sound but reversed, so they look like arrows in your video editor timeline.
No one hears it until you check the recording, I have an OBS recording editor template with the marker audio track already muted.
The only requirement is a video editing program that recognises multiple audio tracks per video file, which should really be the bare minimum for most folks serious about editing their recordings.
I have a slightly similar set up with alerts that someone has commented in chat, as I DJ on Twitch and sometimes don't notice when someone has entered chat, so that audio ping is audible to me from OBS but OBS is set not to send it over the stream, the only very rare time this is an issue is when I've got the microphone on and the ping occurs, there's a tiny bit of spill into the mic.
honestly, I am loving all the work people put into scripting for OBS. Crazy to think how much customization is put into content creation now vs 10 years ago.
It's amazing how many of these plugins seem like things that should be baked into OBS. Really great to see community developers building tools that are basically essential additions so the OBS can spend their limited resources on more important stuff. GGs
Thank you Epox, very useful information as ever!
That OBS Rec-Rename script is a godsend. I've gotten to the point of changing my recording output folder every time i record something different from what i just recorded and this will save me ALL of that (upfront) effort
Thanks for featuring the Local Stream Marker! Been a fan of your content for a while now :) still trying to make time to fix the bug where it creates another row of column headers in the CSV file like you showed :)
Sorry for the barrage of replies. I was trying to include a link to GitHub since I accidentally sent this script to "Pending approval" in the OBS Forum. Thank you very much.
I loved the idea of the markers CSV. This is going to help me a bunch with time coding my stream replays from Amazon Live/YT streams. Right now I’d have to scrub and find where I switch products, this will give me a pretty good head start on that and I can use a stream deck button to handle the marking! Thanks for this video and idea!
Sorry for the barrage of replies (if any). I accidentally sent this script to "Pending approval". If you're still interested, it's also available on GitHub. Thank you.
So smooth! Every Nice tutorialng he says goes into my brain and sticks in.
Dope tips, and even doper bfmv shirt 🤘
Yo Epos Vox!
You should check out the PCPanel Pro!
It's just sliders that control digital audio meters.
So you can change specific programs, AND specific OBS channels with physical knobs/sliders.
It seems pretty solid, and the only decent in-depth videos that exist of it are from Harris Keller and the company themselves.
Thank you 🥺
how does one you usually get the footage for edits? do you record your stream while you stream, or download twitch's vod?
Now this is pod racing. 5/6 of these are god-like scripts. 🙌
I use advance scene switcher to switch after media. You can set how exactly how long before the end of a media clip you want it to switch
Maybe the marker list could be turned into a EDL that could be imported in Edit program. I could see this being very helpful for me when doing a stream of my teams game and i want to create the playbyplay for Hudl or Quickcuts
Great video! i installed & used toggle source visibility lua but that seems to be broken somehow. Like the moment you set it up for the first time it works well until & unless you're on that scene, but if you restart OBS or something, it doesn't seem to work for me. any possible fix for this?
Audio processing programs allow for use of PRE OPEN GATE timing because recording is there and PC knows when that noise will open the gate. It's a simple feature for processing of pre-recorded stuff but I understand why it's not working live. Or... kinda...
See, webcams or any sort of cams are pretty slow and have a decent chunk of delay to them delivering that video.
It means that audio from your mic gets buffered as it's waiting for a correct frame/time to get released.
Question is, is it possible to make pre-gate feature work live by accessing that buffer? It would be a golden feature even with few miliseconds of space to work with. Currently noise gate filter in OBS has attack, release and hold time but no pre-open.
I haven't seen a plugin that does this, but even if you were to add like 1 second of delay to your stream in order to have 10ms of pre-open - that's hella worth it for audio consistency.
I wish there was an update for the replay buffer feature, so that clips don't overlap if you hit the record button
I spent HOURS looking for something like Toggle Scene Source for free. Thank you!!!
Is there a script that will pull the highlights/clips and markers from Twitch into a csv? That would be far more handy for the work flows of some of my friends.
Hey Adam i have purchased a 240hz monitor but when i live stream a game obs does not like 240hz gaming everything seems to stutter when i stream.
adobe markers are usually exported with the video file as its metadata
so theoretically all you need to let the script modify the video file metadata after you stop the recording and insert the markers in the same formatting as adobe after effects or premiere uses.. not sure about davinci doe
Thanks a lot for this set of plugins.
Unfortunately, I can't get the renamer to work...
It does not show any window to configure the output folder, and I have literally zero logs.
I have a zoom h5 and it adds a marker so I can see it on premeir which leaves me to believe it's meta data, but I don't know if there was a marker put on a mkv file would it still be there if you remixed.
For the toggle scene source. On the download source do just copy and paste on a note pad and create the file or is the download bugged for me?
is there a script that lets me rename the video file I just recorded? so when I stop the recording a window pops up and I can type in the name for it or something like that
Plugin no2 source visibility timer is so buggy for me. I literally have to delete and re add to the show every time I load up. Maybe they will fix in the update for OBS28?
Dude... this is above and beyond when it comes to listening to your community.. like, damn. How do I subscribe for a second time?
Can't seem to get the rename python script to work, shows no options, and when I type "Python" in cmd it loads up a windows store version of python?
How much power do you need to run this
I know a plug-in I and some friends would like to see is Speechchat integration into OBS similar to how it's integrated into StreamLabs. I managed to make most of the integration for myself as a test, but I can't make it appear as a non-desktop audio source :/ I could get more then a few friends of StreamLabs if such a plug-in or script existed.
The current tutorials on how to use Speechchat with OBS is kinda dumb, not elegant, and a pain.
I want a script which plays the subscribe animation video file every 15 mins during the stream
Yeah only understood half of what makes those plug-ins valuable :o I'm sorry but only thought like the clips highlight thing was the most impressive to me cos I can use that for my highlights for UA-cam videos 🤣🤣
🤘
What happened to the Local Stream Marker? I clicked the link and it’s gone :(
My apologies. I updated the description and it set the entire script as "Pending approval" :( It's still available on GitHub but I am unable to post links here, I think :)
UT Video as RGB-sRGB or i420-709? 4k60p works not at RGB. Can i fix that. Need maximum for HDR Grading. Thx to Help
4k60 in RGB is a unicorn. Nothing can really capture it
@@EposVox thx
@@EposVox
what would you do? 4k60 i420 or 4k30 RGB or 1080 60p RGB with superscale to 4k60p. Game play but cinematic. need max quality for postproduction. 60 frames nice to have for slowmo. U think for HDR better RGB or i444? or will the difference be barely noticeable between RGB and i420.
I would just wait for the HDR update releasing next month, because everything is getting clamped to SDR in OBS anyway at the moment so it doesn’t really matter which you use you’re losing HDR data
@@EposVox thx a lot buddy for ur help. Like ur Channel. Peace
I agree I hate the python scripts, and much prefer the lua scripts.
just realized how little I know about streaming just by not understanding a lot of the jargon
What are you missing from this one?
Local Stream Marker was deleted 😭
My apologies. I updated the description and it set the Local Stream Marker script as "Pending approval" on OBS Forums :( It's still available on GitHub but I am unable to post links here, I think :)
Who's making fnf covers lmao
?
that's why I don't like python
Sorry for using the comment section to ask for help.
I have no idea how to get my image quality to look better. I am streaming with a rx 5700xt Guild Wars 2. the image is so blurry.
I looked a lot at guides etc but chaning settings does not get me anywhere. I have all the newest updates installed and I have 40Mbps upload. Even trying to use my ryzen 3600 and stream 720p it looks like crap. Something must be broken I guess.
Could someone help me? @EposVox?
