Ever since I was a kid when this came out it was one of two songs that to me were the sound of the future. This and "Are 'friends' Electric" by Gary Numan/Tubeway Army.
She helped me to be who I am today. I hear stories I came out at 20, 28, 36,40 etc etc . Donna Summer and her music made it so easy to be who I am. I was 8 or so and my mother who was the best played Donna on the stereo amongst others and we danced and danced and my mom let me be . I'm so grateful for my mom and her taste in music like Donna Summer that allowed me to be who I was at a tender age. I was able to dance however I wanted, move my arms and hips as I wanted and never be scrutinized by anyone including my father. I still believe to this day and I'm 51 because when i heard I Feel Love I knew who I was and I was proud. Thanks Donna and mom.
The impact of this track on dance music is incalculable. Thanks to Giorgio Moroder's throbbing, pulsating synthesizers and Summer's sensual epic-orgasmic vocal, "I Feel Love" claims tomorrow in the name of disco.
She is tripping in a such delicious vibe while singing this awesome song..very few People can connect with her positive energy..eletreccity flouting through the air..love profusion our way..Bravo Donna Summer..
It's funny, I never really thought of Donna Summer as the queen of disco, her voice was electric, yet haunting, innocent, yet knowing, and very versatile. I saw her live at an AIDS benefit at Carnegie Hall in the mid 1990's, she was magnificent. Donna brought the house down with "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". I have never heard anyone sing it with the strength and emotion she put into it. It's an incredible loss that she isn't here anymore. "I loved to love you baby".
@@pieterjlansbergen6988 IMPO, your comment is utterly pathetic!! Donna was amazing & she could certainly move & dance. She had obvious rhythm. Gosh some people can be cruel & nasty! Don't you think?!
Overall, "I Feel Love" is a timeless dance anthem that continues to resonate with audiences today, and its innovative use of electronic instruments has cemented its place in music history as a pioneering track that helped shape the sound of modern dance music.
As the music pulses, she pulls you in and doesn't let go. The first trance track and one of the greatest pieces of music of the 20th century. A masterpiece.
All modern female singers say that they are inspired by artists like Madonna and Janet Jackson and so forth. Well, good for them... But the one that really started it all was Donna Summer! This song was the first real electronic "Dance" song... And therefore the birth of "Dance" and what would later even evolve into something as extreme as "House" music was also born. Donna, there's no way I can ever say how gratefull I am for what you have done! R.I.P.
Shit, I'm sure even Madonna and Janet Jackson were influenced by Donna Summer haha I know Madonna covered "I Feel Love" too. They are all great artists :)
This song is a beast to sing live. So much of the phrasing runs long spans without breaths. Relatively easy to pul off in the studio, but she manages to balance it nicely live. Still one of the most iconic dance tracks and dance vocalists of all time.
I sometimes wonder if Summer during her intimate and hypnotic perfomances of this song, ever considered that what she was doing would essentially evolve into the headtrip that is modern dance music.
Questo Sound è un Miracolo della musica. Lo definirei un antidepressivo naturale privo di effetti collaterali. Quando si è giu' di morale ascolta Donna Summer Live 1977 a tutta palla. Senti la vita che ti scorre nelle vene...
This was one of the great hits of disco music, at the end of the 70s Donna began to have a lot of fame. And she will never be forgotten, she will continue to be our queen of Disco.❤❤❤
What's amazing is this rendition is completely live. The vocals, the musicians, the whole shebang. No lip synch or playback here. The studio version of the song is very different: slower, less frenetic, and overall sleeker production. But, I love both versions. I miss the days when a live version of a song was not expected to sound exactly like the studio version.
Karim, I hear you. Hell, just go back to some of those Midnight Special vids. The record is great, but those old live renditions took on a new meaning.
You missed! Only the voices are alive. But the sound of synthesizers and other instruments are playback. The sound of the instruments are the second version of this song! But there are other videos of this song that are really live!

Gosh as a woman, I find that Donna Summer was exquisitely beautiful & so sensual & her voice! Just Wow! How sad that she died so tragically. So many of your fans miss you DS including me. RIP beautiful disco Queen.🙏

Como Donna Summer era linda e afinada nos anos setenta. Beleza, sensualidade, elegância, classe, talento e carisma reunidos de uma só vez em uma única estrela. Descanse em paz e fique com Deus, querida e belíssima Donna Summer. Amém.
It’s amazing how almost 45 years later this song still sounds like the future. No one could do it like Donna.❤️❤️❤️

Yes, I totally agree with you.
Sorry about the late comment.
Most do. It was a rare night in Berlin the past 5 years that I didn’t hear it whenever I went out.
No one can sing this song after this. Notice no flashy lights and no back up dancers, she OWNED that stage. Hang it up forever!
Madonna in Confessions Tour
What's wrong with flair and showmanship?? Even Whitney Houston celebrated it
Whitney was shite though.
quim1970 What a naive statement, when at her best she was an incredible vocalist
