She helped me to be who I am today. I hear stories I came out at 20, 28, 36,40 etc etc . Donna Summer and her music made it so easy to be who I am. I was 8 or so and my mother who was the best played Donna on the stereo amongst others and we danced and danced and my mom let me be . I'm so grateful for my mom and her taste in music like Donna Summer that allowed me to be who I was at a tender age. I was able to dance however I wanted, move my arms and hips as I wanted and never be scrutinized by anyone including my father. I still believe to this day and I'm 51 because when i heard I Feel Love I knew who I was and I was proud. Thanks Donna and mom.

It's funny, I never really thought of Donna Summer as the queen of disco, her voice was electric, yet haunting, innocent, yet knowing, and very versatile. I saw her live at an AIDS benefit at Carnegie Hall in the mid 1990's, she was magnificent. Donna brought the house down with "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". I have never heard anyone sing it with the strength and emotion she put into it. It's an incredible loss that she isn't here anymore. "I loved to love you baby".

All modern female singers say that they are inspired by artists like Madonna and Janet Jackson and so forth. Well, good for them... But the one that really started it all was Donna Summer! This song was the first real electronic "Dance" song... And therefore the birth of "Dance" and what would later even evolve into something as extreme as "House" music was also born. Donna, there's no way I can ever say how gratefull I am for what you have done! R.I.P.

What's amazing is this rendition is completely live. The vocals, the musicians, the whole shebang. No lip synch or playback here. The studio version of the song is very different: slower, less frenetic, and overall sleeker production. But, I love both versions. I miss the days when a live version of a song was not expected to sound exactly like the studio version.

it really was a revolution that few realized at the time. The Moog synthesizer . But some did: One day in Berlin ... Brian Eno came running in and said (to David Bowie), "I have heard the
sound of the future." ... he puts on "I Feel Love," by Donna Summer ...
He said, "This is it, look no further. This single is going to change
the sound of club music for the next fifteen years." Which was more or
      less right."

Giorgio Moroder created this sound & Donna was the perfect vehicle to take it into the clubs of the world. It could be argued that electro dance music was created & spawned many imitators.

Calling this song even remotely similar to the EDM genre is a big insult to all the effort and talent that went into creating the song. EDM is cancer.

my mind is open to music like this. it's got a drive, a rhythm, an energy. nothing to do with being a gay anthem. it's about living yourself. agree?

I remember when she came out with her first hit in 1975 "Love to Love You baby". It was round about my birthday, August 31st. I had just turned 7 years old. Man, what memories. But "I Feel Love" has always been my personal favorite. That's electronic sound was out of sight!!!!! Listen to the original version of this song with your headphones on IN STEREO and check out how the electronic bass jumps from speaker to speaker on your headphones.

Como Donna Summer era linda e afinada nos anos setenta. Beleza, sensualidade, elegância, classe, talento e carisma reunidos de uma só vez em uma única estrela. Descanse em paz e fique com Deus, querida e belíssima Donna Summer. Amém.
