Too bad this 80 plus year old is drydocked and barely able walk and travel these days. Were I 50 or 60 years younger things would be a lot different.

Great shot of the beauty going under the lift bridge with the steam plume coming from its stack! Safe voyage to the Captain & crew of the PRT. And a firework display from Bentleyville... Thanks Mike! ⚓🚢⚓

Beautiful video; it had so many neat elements to it: the mammoth ship gliding by with silent, graceful dignity; the mellow reflection of the lights on the dark waters; the cheeriness of Christmas lights twinkling across the way; the fun of actually briefly being on the bridge with you- and to end it all, a grand finale from a winter fireworks display! This was worth watching, every minute of it- and I can tell that you really enjoyed filming it. Thank you! Keep warm! Here in the Buffalo, NY area we are supposed to get socked with a bunch of snow in the next several days- especially south of the city. My shovel is ready- but am I?! 🫤🙂

Hey Mike, and all the Global Boat Friend Nation, from a cold and breezy Bismarck. What a video this was as you have a night shoot, with a low ceiling , no wind to speak of, the beautiful lights of Duluth and Bentlyville showing off her colors as well. Wow, then to top it off you have “Big Hoss” outbound with a full load of Wyoming Coal coming through the canal as quiet as a Church Mouse…. And if that Big Beast was not enough, then you have Fireworks besides which add their own sound and colors besides. I mean this shoot had everything!!!! I was half expecting to see Santa and his sled and Reindeer flying over the lift bridge it was that good! I do not know what you plan to top this one, but I cannot wait. It is people like you who make this channel what it is, a place where we can all connect over our love of ships and the Great Lakes. I truly appreciate your ongoing support and the energy you bring to the community. I have to tell you, the Paul R Tregurtha holds a special place in my heart. It is an incredible ship, and I am such a fan that I even have a model of it at my house. Every time I see it in action, I am reminded why I love sharing these moments with everyone. I had a chance to tell all of the Boat friends to be careful if they walk on the ice and Duluth. It’s out there. Be very careful. Have a great weekend ahead my friend. I really appreciate you taking extra time to leave a comment.
Wow, it’s colder in New York City as well! This is that time of year where they start putting those trees out on the sidewalks. Nothing like buying trees in New York City. I love the energy in that city.
Cityscapes at night can be beautiful. If one knows where to look, and you know where and how! Great photography skills. I hope you got a big cup of hot chocolate after this.
At some point, we will get a lot of snow on the ground in Duluth. I can’t wait to see it. I promise I’ll get a good video with the ship and big snow coming down.
Thanks for the video! I live only a few hours from Duluth and am thinking about making a trip to see this in person. Haven't seen this since I was a child.
It is definitely going to be worth the drive! Take a couple hours and go see these beautiful ships. Here are the two tools that I use to determine when the ships will be arriving or departing in Duluth. Keep in mind, there is no sure thing because of weather, speed of loading/unloading, etc. However, if you use the two of these together, it’ll really help you know what’s going on. Here are those tools. #1 This is updated by Duluth Harbor Cams, this one can be accurate too, however, it’s all about when it gets updated as well. They do a good job. harborlookout.com/ships#0 #2 This will help you determine exactly where the ship is in live time. It’s extremely accurate. The app I use is called “MarineTraffic” and it has a blue ship for the logo. You will really enjoy it! You can research vessel names and follow ships all over the world. You can download it on your Android or Apple phone.
Very very nice, Mike! I enjoy ship watching on a number of the LIVE channels. Your video was just like being there. Thanks for letting us tag along with you and for sharing the great info! Thoroughly enjoyed this virtual experience.

Thanks Mike great show tonight your the best.
It was really awesome to show you the cold and the lights
Hi Mike, what a great video of the P R Tregurtha entering the lake and the lights and the fireworks look great.
Thank you so much for being such an active part of the Boat Friends community and for always taking the time to watch my videos and share your thoughts in the comments.
Knowing there are others like you who appreciate these ships just as much makes it even more rewarding. Thanks again for being here from the start and helping make this channel such a great place for all of us.
Awesome video! Thank you
I'm glad you liked it! Did you see the snow?
@@vibewithmikeOh wait, it was snowing?! Haha. Gotta watch it again! ❄😄❄Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Thanks Mike for this great community! The ship and the Christmas lights and fireworks were so awesome to see!! Definite favorite! 🎄🚢🎆❄
@@vibewithmike I was dancing in the snow
@Deb_L I just can’t wait to be able to capture a huge blizzard with one of these big ships. Deb, I will get it for you.
@ That would be so awesome Mike! Thank you
Thanks Mike, you rock.
Thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time
As a kid, I remember being able to ride on the lift bridge when it went up and down.
You are right, they used to allow people to ride that bridge for a fee. It must’ve been pretty fun going up and down that bridge.
So beautifully clear!
I know, right? I couldn't believe how clear it was! I thought it was so fun on a cold night to see that
Impressive ship indeed, awesome light show too!
I was really impressed by the fireworks that they did for Bentleyville
Thank you
You’re very welcome. I hope you enjoyed the video.
Really like the night action
I really love being out there at night and there was really good light out there for me to show everything on the canal
Just amazing Mike - your videos get better and better!
Thanks and enjoy your holidays!!
Happy holidays to you as well, my friend! Thanks for being part of the channel. It really means a lot that you’re part of what we do.
❤ Thank you sir!! This was awesome!!!😊
I’m so glad you’re able to take some time to watch it. I knew it would be a good video when I saw all of the ice on the ground. It really made me happy. I had a chance to tell all of the Boat friends to be careful if they walk on the ice and Duluth. It’s out there. Be very careful. Have a great weekend ahead my friend. I really appreciate you taking extra time to leave a comment.
My neighbor shoots off fireworks for EVERY holiday. It will be 27° in NYC tonight. I can't wait for winter!
Wow, it’s colder in New York City as well! This is that time of year where they start putting those trees out on the sidewalks. Nothing like buying trees in New York City. I love the energy in that city.
Thanks Mike.
Happy to share it with you.
Thanks Mike!
Glad you enjoyed it front. Happy Friday.

This is updated by Duluth Harbor Cams, this one can be accurate too, however, it’s all about when it gets updated as well. They do a good job. harborlookout.com/ships#0

This will help you determine exactly where the ship is in live time. It’s extremely accurate. The app I use is called “MarineTraffic” and it has a blue ship for the logo. You will really enjoy it! You can research vessel names and follow ships all over the world. You can download it on your Android or Apple phone.
AWESOME!!. Repeat the facts as much as you want to MIke. It never grows old.
Sounds good! I just wanna make it fair for the people that just joined
Very very nice, Mike! I enjoy ship watching on a number of the LIVE channels. Your video was just like being there. Thanks for letting us tag along with you and for sharing the great info! Thoroughly enjoyed this virtual experience.
I’m so happy that you felt like you were there! Thank you so much. It’s wonderful having someone like you part of the channel that leaves positive comments like this. Have a great weekend, my friend.
Another beautiful video Mike!
I’m glad that you enjoyed it. It was a true pleasure recording all of this for you and all of our other friends that love the weather and ships.
I absolutely love your videos. Thank you so much for the work you put in.
I’m glad you enjoy them!
That was terrific, thank you for sharing
Thank you too!
Beautiful
Thank you so much!
That was AWESOME bro! Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving with your family. Have a wonderful weekend my brother 🫡
Thank you so much! I’m waiting to catch a ship with a big blizzard
Thank you Vibe with Mike. Very much enjoyed the Monster ship
(P. R. T.). Also enjoyed the Fire Works. Too cold for me tho, as I have pool circulation giving me cold hands & feet. But I am so glad that you braved it to give us this video. Smooth sailing to you.
It's really cold but there's nothing like being down there with a huge ship
Beautiful video for the holidays. Thanks Mike.
Stay warm as the season progresses. I worked over 20 years in the Arctic Alaska oilfields. I know a little about cold, too. Thanks for your dedication.
Thanks! It was a beautiful day for sure.
You have to be really tough to be out in those Arctic condition
Well, maybe my brain got a little too cold to make a better choice before I spent so long up there!🤣
@myexpressways4106 hey, I think that’s very cool though. What an experience.
Great stuff, as usual. Hope to see you soon!!!!!
It was fun getting out there, but the fireworks were really awesome
Hey Mike - gorgeous video!! Loving the shots of Bentleyville, and of course the Tregurtha. The fireworks are a bonus❤
It's so cool how many people enjoy Bentleyville! The fireworks were really something else this year, too. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, thank you so much for being so wonderful with this type of comment on a Friday. All the best to you and your family.
@vibewithmike same to you, and hope you had a great Thanksgiving! 💞
@StephanieBenner-tj3xd thanks friend⛴️⛴️⛴️👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video.. Fireworks, prt and Bentleyville.
There’s nothing like Bentleyville fireworks with the largest ship
Awesome! Thank you
It was a blast to be out there filming it!
Awesome! Thanks, Mike!
I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. I love that ship.
A very fun video. Thanks for covering all these spectacular things happening in Duluth. And a ship!!! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Glad you enjoyed the ship!

Hi Mike, that is a beautiful video. Nice way to finish. Kids loved it. Cheers and thankyou
Wonderful hearing from you! Hope you’re doing great. I hope the family is doing well. Say hello to the kids for me. All the best.
Mike, you really dd it this time! Absolutely beautiful! So much to see! Thank you!😁
It’s such a pleasure getting out there to record the big ships, but this video was so special. Being able to add fireworks into this with the larger ship. It was really fun.
@@vibewithmike I really can't handle cold weather, so I'm glad you recorded this. I NEVER would have done it! I don't ever again want to be anywhere near anyplace where I feel the need to clip "Yak-Traks" onto my shoes!😅
@gmaneis that cold weather can get pretty bad in Duluth, but last year was not as bad. I hope we have some snow, but I don’t want that extreme cold.
@@vibewithmike Yeah, I worry about the animals that need the ice when it's too warm up north and getting warmer. I just don't want to be up there with them! Thanks again. Fantastic video!
@gmaneis I think we will have a typical winter this year. At least that’s what I think.
These ships are amazing .
The bridge is also amazing, we used to construct some fantastic things in America 🇺🇸
It's great to see you appreciate our American engineering!
Great video Mike, thanks for sharing.
I really appreciate you! Thanks for being part of the channel
Brilliant as always
Super glad that you enjoyed it, my friend
LOVE the 4K!!!!!
Thanks! It was a beautiful night for it.
Mike, your videos get better each time I watch one. Happy belated Thanksgiving and keep up the good work!
Brother, this ship and those fireworks can make any video look good. I’m just lucky to hit record.
Best video yet, Mike!😊
I really had a fun time recording this video for everybody. Great fireworks. I knew you would like it.
The Tregurtha! Night time with that low ceiling looks FANTATSIC. Awesome. Mike!
And for perspective - USS Iowa (BB -61) was only(!) 887'. 😊
That’s amazing! What a beautiful ship I just looked it up USS Iowa! Such a fine piece of engineering. I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving.
Great one, Mike. I love to hear you talk. It reminds me of my family from Eau Claire, Wi.
Hey, if I remind your family, I think that’s awesome
