When a boxer takes the belt from another champion, he must defend it against the opponents that that champion ducked. When Teo took Loma's belt he went to defend it and lost it immediately. Now that he took the Taylor belt, he must defend it against a mandatory or another champion. Instead, he's fighting someone he already knows and someone who's not even top 5 in the division, thus ducking his mandatory. And remember that Taylor chose to duck Matias and thus was stripped of the IBF belt, so beating Taylor doesn't mean Teo is the best. Matias then fought Ponce and earned that belt. Teo must face Matias and prove himself. Matias is not clout chasing. If anything, Teo is clout chasing by bringing up Crawford's name. If he wants to prove himself at 147 lbs., then fight Spence first. Let's see if he does better than Mickey.

Germaine Ortiz is a soft fighter. Matias is the king of 140 and has been calling to unify all titles for a year. Teo fears him and rightfully so.
I won't take anything away from what teofimo has done in the sport of boxing, yes he's beaten great fighters but time doesn't stop and other fighters emerge and when you want to call yourself take over, you have a responsibility not only to yourself but to the fans that in fact you are taking over, that you are the best. Not only for what you have done but what you're doing at the moment... in my opinion you're scared shitless of Subriel Matias, it seems like teo is looking for a big payday to retire. To me that's the only explanation why he's looking toward crawford!
