Dewey was a hell of a kickboxer. He was always undersized but his heart is big. Very aggressive fighter. Turned out he’s also a great coach.

He was trolling Dewey busting his chops calling him an aerobic instructor with a shitty kickboxing career. I think they are having fun with each other in that gym. I don’t look at Dewey’s record but from the fights I watched he’s damn impressive. If you keep fighting dudes 30-50 lbs bigger than you then your record probably won’t be amazing.
So open, sharing, respectful and genuinely happy to be on the show for both of his appearances
It's a shame that Dewey wasn't even considered for the boxing coach last year. Thought Francis should have won against Fury based upon damage, effective strikes, aggression and ring generalship. Anyway, hope Francis destroys Joshua much similar to what Liston did against Williams and Patterson.

Great interview. Dewey made excellent points and it will be fascinating to see how Ngannou and AJ handle each other. I love to make predictions but the truth is I don't feel confident about any predictions regarding this bout. I love boxing and mma and I would have never predicted this whole scenario. This is alternate universe stuff😂.

Dewey is highly underrated and I’m glad people are finally starting to give him his flowers! To be able to coach on the highest level in multiple disciplines is phenomenal.
For him to be this successful I reckon he must have a system in place to develop a fighter. From footwork fundamentals, distance fundamentals all the way to the champagne strikes. Would love for him to deep dive into his system!

One of the things I took from Fury-Ngannou is you probably want to forget about clinching an MMA fighter. Fury is used to having the upper hand there and it really didn’t work for him.
I think if Joshua keeps it long for most of the fight his experience with the jab will get him over the line.

Dewey is the only commentator about Joshua that is getting the Otto Wallin fight right. Wallin was Joshua's sparring partner and he knew he had nothing to be afraid of. Joshua fought a one fight previously KOed Hellenius and Franklin who nobody ever heard of. Joshua has been cherry picking ever since his loss to Usyk.

Plenty of people heard of Helenius mate for years, also Helenius was always easy to KO if you can reach him.
As for Franklyn, I only knew that guy cause the only known name he fought beat him in Whyte.

Have followed AJ in boxing from Olympics and Francis’s throughout MMA. Apart from Usyk - these are two of my favourite fighters. And if AJ stays with Ben - it’s also two of the best and nicest coaches.

AJ was very scared trying to pot shot at the end of his punches, nailed Franklyn from time to time but was too reluctant to go in get the job done.

Not this is the interview, which makes me think Francis might actually have a chance, as they have studied AJ very well,
so the coach may help Francis to win, but AJ is still very experienced n a Olympic Gold medalist n is got a Power as well.
Like he said AJ is an Olympic Gold medalist so he is good n has worked hard n stayed in shape till now.

No mate it wasn't, it was sanctioned by the WBC 1 day before it happened and you're completely wrong.
Fernand Lopez is NOT the man who found Francis homeless at all (nobody did), Francis went to a boxing gym, started there and the boxing coach later on introduced him to Lopez, Lopez is just a greedy guy in the end who fumbled the bag.

That is true Joshua doesn’t have a one punch knockout power. He’s a combination fighter so it’s with accumulated damage that he finishes his opponents meanwhile Ngannou is different he’s like wilder he only needs to land one ☝🏾

This interview, I think, is the perfect explanation of why MMA is upstaging Boxing. The questions from Luke and the thorough understanding of the fight that Dewey is able to communicate? I now understand how Dewey has enjoyed so much success: he understands the fight and can communicate to his fighters! You don't see this level of understanding of, respect for the opponent and the fight, as well as this kind of thoroughness in boxing (I'm sorry).

In MMA, doesn’t Francis Ngannou train with Extreme Couture trainers? Or is Dewey Cooper strictly a boxing trainer? I thought Francis should go with a more experienced boxing trainers like Teddy Atlas or Freddie Roach, but given the spectacular performance against Tyson Fury, Dewey Cooper should remain his trainer.
