Good close fight, but Loma deserved the win, he landed the cleaner harder punches, young guy ortiz needed 3 more good fights and experience for a possible victory.

I had it a draw, like the unofficial scorer for the the Spanish simulcast. Of course Haney's people are happy, as this means a hell of a lot more eyes and money for the next fight, since Loma is a star and Ortiz isn't. I love Loma but I think it's time for the younger boxers to take center stage. It'll probably come down to Shakur vs. Haney in terms of deciding who will reign supreme at 135 right now.

I was a little distracted and would need to rewatch that. Yes, it looked like a good argument could be made for a Draw (or an Ortiz win) maybe, depending on what judges liked. Loma actually looked very very good, physically. Almost like he was more muscular and 'ripped' and more energetic than ever before. So good for Loma, at 34 he's in crazy insane better-than-24 physical shape and stamina!!

Landing cleaner shots does not win Fights, Loma wasn't consistent. There weren't any 10-8 rounds. Ortiz clearly did enough to win the 1st six rounds. And at least one of the last 6 rounds.

Scoring was unfair, a hard split decision is realistic. Loma definitely wasn’t his best tonight. My hats off to Ortiz for a great performance and proved he can hang with the elite 135ers. Interested in seeing who he fights next in the division.

Loma won, no one was robbed, loma dominated last 4 rounds. And he of course won at least 3 out of the first 8 rounds. Loma shots were cleaner and landed more. Ortiz has some good shots but no robbery or bad decision here.

I think Ortiz was up 5-3 through 8 and Loma won 9, 10, 11 and 12. So 115-113. If a judge had it tied 4-4 after 8 then I can see why one judge had it 116-112. The other judge was tripping lol
Some fans let their emotions score fights. I had it at worst 7-5 for loma. There’s no controversy here. Ortiz just lost the championship rounds, simple. Yea, the third judge must have liked the harder shorts but idk, that’s not a good score for a competitive fight.

The Spanish commentary has Ortiz up most of the early rounds . The English commentary was the opposite . How can that be? Why is there always such tremendous bias ? Because it’s a profitable business , and the bigger name wins mostly every time!

Ortiz showed a lot of talent in his fight against Lomachenko. I DO NOT agree with the wide scorecard numbers favoring Loma. It was a closer fight and Ortiz demonstrated great foot/angle movements, combinations, and a very effective jab, double jabs. Go Ortiz!
Teófimo looks good Focus his opinion about the fight very smart I wish him good good luck and his next fight but I can't wait to see to see him with some real competition

Ortiz could have won this fight or forced a draw but Loma won 9,10,11 and 12. Through 8 rounds it was either Ortiz up 5-3 or a tie at 4-4 but I give the lead to Ortiz. Loma just gets better as the fight goes on cause he figures you out more and is in great shape
With that said, Loma KNOWS he was not great tonight. He has to train harder and longer for Haney although this kid might end up being a tougher fight cause he lets his hands go. He studied what Teo did for sure. Will Haney let his hands go to keep Loma away?

I gave ortiz the first 7 rounds and I was for Lomachenko. Loma wasn't prepared and wasn't ready. That wasn't the Lomachenko we know. He got lucky he won coming on to late. Winning 3 to 4 rounds late doesn't win you the entire fight

Let's be honest. Lomachenko did not look good at all. I don't see him being competitive against the likes of Haney and some of the other top fighters at 135.
Loma had taken time off due to the Ukraine Russia war. He obviously wasn't 100% himself but he was still okay and held his own against a great young fighter. If he trains hard he will easily compete and have a good chance at beating haney
