It would be helpful if AP didn’t release rankings until after week 6, and top25 wins were retroactive back to the first 6 weeks. That would get rid of the preseason ranking bias.
The AP poll exists to get people to talk about the AP poll.

I’d say Miami would be 9-3. Win out but drop 3/4 of the Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
It's a hell of a lot better than the AP clown rankings. I think Texas is #1.

Times change, and we need to adapt. The Rankings should reflect the new 12-team playoff bracket. Based on your rankings, OS #1, Tx #2, Miami #3, Byu #4, Or #5, Penn St. #6, Iowa St. #7, Indi #8, Bama #9, Tn #10, Ga #11, Group of Five #12, and so on... May not be rational, may not make sense, but I believe teams should be ranked based on their championship odds; it's the new reality.
Thanks Mark. Very good. I'm being extremely picky here, but I'd flip Pitt and Tenn. Tenn has the better win, but Pitts overall resume is slightly better to me. I like their wins over WVU and Cincy (albeit very close, late wins).
Totally understand. Again, it's not a flawless ranking. You are pointing out the reason I have Pitt ranked there. Our #3 criteria is performance.

Texas and Miami has to be there but Ohio State hasn't beaten anyone YET and Georgia needs to be higher.
Who says Michigan is better than Iowa and Ohio State played better and also beat Michigan State.
@MarkRogersVOCFB OSU played Iowa at home, Texas went on the road and beat Michigan.
But ultimately rankings are basically worthless until at least week 6.
Better to not beat anybody (oh wait Iowa) then be beat by Vanderbilt or Arkansas.
Ohio State is the best there ever was, and you know that to be true as do the American people. Michigan simply cheats, and has no ethical base at its Pelosian university.

Mark, I think you're going to have your hands full with this list week to week. So far, Texas & Ohio State are the only ones who look the part as far as elite teams go. I have no idea regarding the others. A few teams have elite talent but the product on the field doesn't reflect that. I must add that I really dislike Ohio State.

@@MarkRogersVOCFB I did, but having watched BYU play every game this year and most every other year I just don’t see them beating Alabama or Georgia or LSU or Michigan or Clemson. I’d love for it to be so but I’d have to see probably three more wins to feel good about having them number six but hey man I hope you’re right And they back up your Ranking.
So wrong. 16 should be 14, 24 should be 23, 5 should be 8, 9: should be 14, 12 should be 9 , 1 should be 3, 2 should be 12 and 12 should be 5. I think.
