Great video like always! Two universities, UCLan and the University of Reading, are now actually offering the PA course as a 4 year undergraduate degree. The first two pre-clinical years are merged with the MBBS students and the last two years are merged with the incoming postgraduate PA students in which they complete their mandatory placements. Their earning potential does seem to plateau at £45K but having a look online, there are plentiful locum positions available for PAs in the UK offering hourly rates of up to £65 in London!
I assume the majority of your audience is from the UK. I am Australian I am an aspiring doctor, going into year 9. Could you do a video on Australian health care. I love your videos 🤩
Hi, great video! I am a qualified UK Physician Associate currently working in GP after two years in acute medicine. I havent faced any challenges in practice since qualifying regarding supervision or getting prescriptions/imaging for patients as the way it has worked for me is i have a clinical supervisor for the day/week with an allocated time slot for a review roughly 15 mins and just tell them what i need for each patient and they do it there and then. I am however able to approach any dr if i feel like i need a 2nd opinion or just someone to eyeball my patient if i feel like i could be missing somthing. Hopfully when the GMC regulates us not only will we be able to prescribe and order imaging but our pay will increase respectively. Although Drs order our imaging we are trained to interpret our own results so i get all the results to my inbox and review them daily. Very good video though. Thank you for being fair to the profession, i have seen so much negativity regarding the role and its nice to have some fairness out there for people to make their own opinions if they have never worked with us x
