Thanks for the insight. Lovely Christmas tree.
great vide Dr Nosa. thank you for being honest and transparent. You completely clarified the cons of being a GP
Thank you Dr. Nosa
Compliment of the season
May the season bring you and yours unending blessings.
Same to you Jesse! Amen! God bless you 💜
Thank you for being completely honest and transparent, Nosa. I'm a GPST3 and everything you highlight in this Vlog has resonated deeply with me. Keep on inspiring, sharing beneficial knowledge and continue the excellent Vlogs on on your YT channel.
Incredible! a much-needed video on GP training! every video always highlights the Pros of GP training and never the cons! I personally always had a question about the general practice that how do GP's manage to examine, diagnose, and decide on the treatment plan for the patient in literally just 10mins?!!! that's like a superhuman job tbh..... home visits are not particularly "safe" or "comfortable" either ..... at the end of the day any specialty training is tough if you are not cut out for it... NOTHING IS EASY IN MEDICINE! PERIOD.
Exactly!!!!! Not sure who thought it was a good idea to have such short appointment times & I completely agree regarding home visits, it’s always a bit unnerving visiting people at home...definitely! No specialty training is easy!
@@DoctorNosa I had to study healthcare financing to realise that the 10 min appointment was designed because of the capitation payments. They literally turned the medical evaluation and anamnesis into a high production factory. And we doctors learnt to adapt to it instead of fighting against it.
Great content. Simple and informative. I had earlier watched how to prepare for Plab 2 and it was quite good
Thank you Dr Nosa, very useful!
You’re welcome Katia! 😃
Great video Dr Nosa. GP is definitely far from an easy option. The challenges of working in community is often more complex than in Hospital. The experience of GP training will differ depending on the workload and culture at the surgery.
Thanks Dr Erwin! Completely agree!
This is really helpful! Thank you 🙏🏾
Thanks for letting me know! 💗
Thank you Dr Nosa. Really insightful
You’re welcome fegor! 😁
Thank you Nosa for that video.
It went against all videos that are praising GP training.
I think GP is still a good option for some IMGs who came to UK at older age after overseas training. It allows doing special interest and I think it is better than CESR pathway.
You’re welcome! Completely agree it’s still a good option especially for the flexibility. There’s also a wide scope of special interest options. Just think people should be aware what they are getting into 😃
This was so helpful! I think no matter wat jobs their are always gonna be cons so just do wat u love!!
So enjoying this Channel 🤗🤗
Very informative video. Thank you for sharing. I don't think it was all over the place.
Thank you Chidera!
Very informative video Dr Nosa!
Glad to hear! Thanks Gloria 🙏
Excellent content!
Thanks!
omg dr nosa. the more videos i watch the more i love u
💕💕💕💕
Absolutely spot on. GP isn’t an easy option afterall. Personally, I just want to get my CCT and decide what I want to do with my life...
Thank you Dr Pepple! I can totally relate! Once we get that CCT, world is our oyster haha
😂 I totally understand that feeling
I have question please. After completing GP training can you go back to hospital specialties? Surgery etc?
CCT in what though? You have to specialise
Nice video!
Could you also do a video on why you should become a GP doctor?
Thank you so much for sharing this video! I'm currently in my final year of medical school and have been considering different specialities. I tend to gravitate towards clinic based specialities and I was just wondering what other specialities did you consider before settling for GP?
True … GP is way more stressful than my previous hospital jobs! It is a different type of stress
Soo useful!!
Glad to hear Rahmah! 😃
things that i knew before gp training but only understands when start GP training
Need a video named :
A day in the life of a GP trainee !!

What about life after training?
I'm conditioned to always look at the end of a matter.
Hi Dr Nosa. How do I apply for internal medicine residency in the UK after PLAB exams? What is the cost…I’d like to work in the UK as a doctor but more interested in becoming an internist. Thank you so much for all the information
Really eye opening, trying to be safe with minimal supervision must be stress
Thanks Mohamed! 😀
Great video and love the honest insight into GP. Can I ask though, would you still recommend GP as a career option? Or do you think the negatives are greater than the positives? Thanks!
Thanks a lot! I would still recommend it but really depends on what’s important to you. More time to do other things you love as well? More time with family? Good salary equivalent and sometimes more than hospital consultants, can deal with the actual day to day job of a GP then yes! GP is likely for you!
This is so true, the level of exhaustion after a long GP day can totally exceed that from an A&E day
💯
That’s why I am considering shifting to pathology after 3 years of training in FM
I CAME TO SEE U R CHANNEL RECENTLY....ND I TOO WANT TO BECOME DOCTOR.........U R VIDEOS ARE MOTIVATING SO MUCH.....THANK U DEAR DR.NOSA......LOTS OF LOVE
Thank you so much for your lovely message! 💕
@@DoctorNosa doctor how is u r life being a doctor...is it boring orelse have u regreted at any moment of being choosing thz prfsn
I feel exactly the same Nosa. GP st1 in gp land and seriously I got gastritis from the stress and no hospital placement did that to me. Seriously 🤣
Haha we’ll be okay!! Xxx
Your videos are really inspiring.
I'm interested in joining GP training.
Do you have any educational page or group on Facebook ???
Post more videos! Miss you.
Working on it! I’m back :)
I can’t believe you so flexible sis
Haha the things I wish I knew before pursuing GP life but we moveee !
Hahahaa for real!
What subspecialty can you do after GP training
Hey , so as a ST1 in GP do I have to see pt independently ? Or some one give me orientation for atlst a week ?? Thank you
Wonderful video. Do GPs have night shifts ?
Hey, I am a female doctor from Bangladesh. Just finished my internship recently. I am now preparing for plab. I want to become a gynecologist. Would you please make a video on the pros & cons of gynae & obstetrics.. It would be very helpful for many person like us who want to come to uk. Thanks.😊😊
Sounds like a good idea! Will look into making that video 💕
Apart from talking, issuing prescriptions and giving out Paracetamol - is there anything else you learn?
Do you even do ultrasound? Minor surgery?
Very useful video !!
But where are your patients having their blood tests and X rays done ???
Thanks! They have it done at the hospitals XR departments/phlebotomy departments most times
Nice one doc keep it up I still think gp is the one for me lol

I'm thinking of applying to GP so this was super interesting and helpful, thank you
Thanks for letting me know! Glad I could help 💕

You look so pretty. Will love to buy your kinda here. Suits you so well. Can you help with the details of purchase
Thank you so much! What is here?
@@DoctorNosa meant "hair ". Sorry autocorrect messed my sentence up
Are you advising me to shet alight away from this speciality that I Love?(The GP)
Not at all, Just giving you all the information you need to make sure it’s the right speciality for you. 😃
Are you British or IMG .???
But you didn’t ask us Na !!
Do you have to do all 3 years in the same place? Or can you move county in between?
You would usually do all the 3 years in the same area. You can apply to move out of the area but you have to have extenuating circumstances.
@@DoctorNosa ok thanks so much!!
My doctors do everything over the phone !
Ignorant comment
@@moltenmagma88 idiot comment !
@Davo the first Of course you will reply in this manner. How lowly of you! You have nothing to back up your claim, so you resort to insults. Laughable
Taken a level maths chemistry and physics and was looking to be a gp. Idk tho
Got to say, if I was a Doctor, I would 100% leave for Australia, better quality of life, more sunshine, and double the money, it's a no brainer.
People out there, I am a chronically ill person who’s dealt with good and bad medical professionals. If you don’t care about people, leave this career, I’m sick of you arrogant incompetent narcissists ruining my life
Being a GP is a pretty lucrative job these days, don't have to deal with patients any more, get plenty of money for not doing your job and to top it off there's no comeback when you get it wrong.Hand all your responsibilities to a nurse or pharmacist, all in all a good job
What an ignorant comment. The job is hard, and the pay is not commensurate to the hardwork and skill of GPs. I am not surprised anyway. Seeing this kind of comment is now so common amongst the public. You never value what you have until you lose it.
The truth is being a GP is way more relaxed than running around the hospital like a headless chicken for 12 hours straight.
It depends on the position... a pathologist or radiologist will have a far more relaxed lifestyle than any GP. All they do is look at slides and x rays, no night shifts... pretty chill.
Mean while you should not be working more than 40hours a week including all break and teaching .
Yeahh I agree but a lot of people work more than this hours o.
@@DoctorNosa Have you joined the NDUK Facebook group and the AKT Telegram group ?
@@drtosin96 Nope! I'll join now, thanks for letting me know :)
Gps don't understand ppl and pain its very very sad, they get told, and judge ppl who r really ill and need help, i wish i wud die the specialist sent a letter and they said no letter, but the was 😢😢😢
I thought you liked GP training?
As with everything in life, there are disadvantages/cons to every job.
@@DoctorNosa I think I really need to connect with you. I'll need a whole lots of information from you
