Thanks Motorweek for showcasing my favorite Fiat which I hope will truly give the Kia Soul a run for its money. If I can make a suggestion: Please turn down the music. It's super noticeable with headphones. Or get rid of it all together like your retro 80s reviews! You guys are awesome.

I dont understand why Fiat does not stress enough that the X and the Renegade are essentially "rally" cars, tested in the glacial proving grounds in Sweden. Italy has a good pedigree of Awd cars. I took one for a test-drive, it was fun!
I know I'm commenting in 2021. I recently purchased a pre owned 2016 500X Easy with 83,000 miles. I too believe it's more of a rally style car. Mine does very well in the snow my area receives. I'm pleased with my purchase and have no regrets. It does what I need in a well built reliable automobile that's fun to drive.
I love my 500x. Oozes style compared to the renegade, and every girl I talked to said I had the cutest car they've ever seen lol. Which isn't bad, because I have a E63 AMG to be the non cute bruiser.
Do you know that actually this is the 1st Fiat actually imported to USDM from Italy in roughly 30 years? 500's are brought from Mexico (soon to be switched to the Polish factory where EU 500's are made in) and 500L's are made in the same building in Serbia that used to make the infamous Yugo of the '80s...
As a matter of fact when I ran a check on the car it said it was made in serbia/Montenegro and the weird thing about that is it's supposed to be just Italy
I bought my first 500x a few months ago. Finding it odd how all these white guys are hating on it yet in Europe the fiat 500 model is huge. Must be a European vs American thing.
BTW....if you haven't watched some of the old MotorWeek car reviews from 30 years ago, you should check them out.....will blow your mind how far cars have come
buildmorefarms100 “can i get a coffee with substantial amount of milk and coffee. And i also would like to have a turkey sandwich with generous amount of mayo”
alfamonk This isn't Robling Road Raceway, which is by Savannah, GA. This is the local track by their headquarters in Owings Mills in Maryland that they conduct acceleration tests at. It's in a bad way though.
+MrNuggetface Fiat 500X is not significant model for the FCA group in Usa, of more than 2.2 million cars sold in the US, just over 30,000 were Fiat brand.
Every time I watch these videos I keep asking, why is this guy still the host? I just looked it up. Creator and executive producer, that's why. His voice has 1980s used car guy all over it. Not pleasant one bit. If he wasn't who he is, he would surely have been replaced years ago.
Fiat don't make conventional 4 door cars very well, Marea, chroma, Tempra etc didn't sell well in Europe, better at compact cars but this one is horrible looking.
+Alan B That's because of the market. The Marea weekend(SW) sold better than the 4 door version. Anyway, FIAT has a 4 door car, its the Dodge Dart/Fiat Viaggio/Fiat Aegea
+bikephil i'm a Tech in a Chrysler Fiat dealership and i hate working on those they are badly made, but i had such a great time last winter in a big snowstorm with a 2012 500 5 speed that i was doing a road test on
Small turboed engine with no potential, nine-speed auto, pretends to be small but actually isn't, pretends to be an offroader but certainly isn't, very feminine styling, safety over fun, very small repairability. This car is as far from muscle cars as one can get.
+TheLaXandro indeed is not near. but it didn't want to be. Efficiency and mpg is the name of the game. i think that small 1.4 packs nice features. being cheap. 140hp is more than enough for a little/medium size practical car. perfect for moms
I love my 16 fiat 500x. Expecially the automatic starter system.
Also love how well it handles.
Update on reliability?

4:33 In a retro review from 1985, that would've been "rocketed to 60 in only 8.5 seconds".
lfsracer79 great point...we've come a long way thanks to the competition & innovation of CAPITALISM!
+vince33x still such a thing as too much.

Have one and very impressed by its all around fit, finish, and performance!

Has it been reliable?
I'm loving the background music on this!!! Good job motorweek!!!!
Agreed. Whoever wrote the piece at 2:15 did their job.
Fiat 500X is a great looking vehicle. Should be a winner in the marketplace.

The music in this episode is A+
i wish fiat will bring more models in the us
+Jean Vargas Alvarez I hope the Fiat Panda and Fiat Punto come to the USA

i kinda like this car
BTW....if you haven't watched some of the old MotorWeek car reviews from 30 years ago, you should check them out.....will blow your mind how far cars have come
This one tested is 1.4T or 2.4..? Thanks
how many gears do you really need? that cant be good for anything
didnt understand why 1.4 has more torque than 2.4... a mistake? 1:18
the 1.4 is a turbo engine , therefore it produces more torque than the normally aspirated 2.4.
+Jo Co ho. thanks :)
Motor week can the next episode on tv be a. Comparing of generations of the Mazda Miata please
A new style 500X, how genius with that car.
@1:35: Are those Minions in the engine bay?
Stupenda e aggressiva
love it, I will be getting one.
Does this guy talk to his wife with that voice?
buildmorefarms100 “can i get a coffee with substantial amount of milk and coffee. And i also would like to have a turkey sandwich with generous amount of mayo”
It's not that bad looking.....definitely better than the 500
Ken Washburn
It looks like a junior Audi Q5 from the side.
Ooh I like this fiat
Looks like that Robling road raceway needs a good weedkiller..

Pena não vir ao Brasil.
These will be one of those vehicles you rarely see in 5+ years when Fiat retreats back to Europe.
I doubt it. They own Chrysler now. They just need a bigger vehicle line up and expand dealer's.
+MrNuggetface Fiat 500X is not significant model for the FCA group in Usa, of more than 2.2 million cars sold in the US, just over 30,000 were Fiat brand.
Surprise an American to pick the jeep
This should've been the Dodge Neon.

You know a boomer reviewed the car when "chrome exhaust tips" are considered a feature...
Mini Cooper?
More like Mini Countryman
+kevin davis, figure it is roughly a 95% (modern) 2nd gen Countryman in almost all stats, even price...
Fix It Agan Tony
This is a commercial! not a test.... BOOOO! You should see the significtion of TEST!!!!
You mean.... Significance?
1:23 thats a 500 L
fiat needs a sedan
Yes badly. Also could use an affordable sports coupe
Fiat don't make conventional 4 door cars very well, Marea, chroma, Tempra etc didn't sell well in Europe, better at compact cars but this one is horrible looking.
+krzrrazrrokr they have Alfa for that. And for sedans.
+Alan B That's because of the market. The Marea weekend(SW) sold better than the 4 door version. Anyway, FIAT has a 4 door car, its the Dodge Dart/Fiat Viaggio/Fiat Aegea
+Alan B It seems to me a very nice car.
Jeep Renegade is Cheaper.. Same freakin thing
Fiat makes fun to drive cars?? LOL
+bikephil i'm a Tech in a Chrysler Fiat dealership and i hate working on those they are badly made, but i had such a great time last winter in a big snowstorm with a 2012 500 5 speed that i was doing a road test on
fiat always been fun cars to drive!

They need to stop building the car for American taste keep it more import like....they messed up the mini...smh
I won't pay 27,000 dollars for a car that looks like a blob of bird poop and reflects light into my eyes from the dash.
It got you to watch the video...
Fiat is trying to be like Mini. End of story
fiat came 1st than mini wtf you talking about?
Piece of crap transportation. I cannot call it a car
I don't like this Fiat, sorry....
It doesnt like you
