Thank you all for your comments about trying this with a tablet. After rigorous testing, I could not get the angle or tilt options to change the appearance of the brush in a noticeable way. If you have some success, let us know! 🤣
I don't know much about anything regarding GIMP, but I am assuming that the reason you are not experiencing any difference with adjusting the tilt sensitivity is because the tilt has to do with a pen for tablets, and has no effect with a mouse. It makes sense with the definition you gave from GIMP's guide: that it "controls the appearance of the nib relative to horizontal."
When you use a tablet, change the mode to include dynamics. That will activate the tilt, as well as using pressure and speed to create more variance in ink strokes.
Thank you :) I am looking for a brush that will be smaller in low speed… that way I can be start the trace thin, have a fat middle, and have a thin end
Good observation Pete! I'll have to experiment with a tablet. The brush tool seems to have much higher capabilities in translating tablet strokes to digital, and the ink tool makes that a little more possible with a mouse.
Thank you for another outstanding video. I tend to think that Statesman63 is correct about using a tablet for results of "Angle" under Adjustment. Thank you once again...
@@GuruGal Kind of out-there suggestion, but would you consider doing tutorials in Source 2's Hammer (a map/level editor)? Maybe it's not really your style of tutorial, but I'd love to hear your voice explaining mapping basics, although I realise that if you've never touched something like it before it could take a while of you learning to use it first before being able to teach others. What about Blender as well?

¡¡¡Hi, great tutorial!!!
Very well explained. Perhaps some of those options only really apply if you are using a graphics tablet, just a thought. 👍

I don't trust myself with a freehand mouse, so it's about time I invested in a tablet!
Thank you
Thanks

Cool tutorial series. Do you intend to create tutorials on other apps or just stick to GIMP?
Yes! Right now trying to flesh out our offerings of GIMP tutorials and then on to other apps. Any you'd like to see?
GuruGal Maybe some more illustrator or Inkscape that would be interesting (don’t know if you’ve already learned them)
@GuruGal - I'm hoping you stick with the free ones: Photopea, Inkscape, Krita, and Sketch Book Pro, for example.

All I wanted to know was details on the "Smooth Stroke" settings for the ink tool. This video was entirely useless.
