How fitting that you made this video on the New York Football Giants' first playoff win in a decade. Thanks for that. In all seriousness, love your work, and wish you the best.
I legit cried tears of joy when "Undefeatable" (side note, contextually and without context, this is now my absolute favorite Sonic boss fight theme: I've memorized the lyrics it's so damn good...yes, I love it more than "What I'm Made Of", "Open Your Heart", and "Live & Learn"...fight me >:3) started playing at the beginning of that fight: just...the moment you grab that 7th Chaos Emerald and Sonic shoots up in to the sky like a golden comet and slowly descends with a disapproving glower that turns in to that smug smirk...such a beautiful moment. It really is just that look that screams "Hope you're ready, 'cause it's about to get REAL up in here." And yes, to those who haven't played Sonic Frontiers yet, your ears did not deceive you: Josh DID just say that Giganto is the FIRST boss! You know it's going to be a GOOD Sonic game when it treats the FIRST boss fight the way most Sonic games treat their FINAL boss fights! I just wish THIS game treated its final boss fight better. Oh don't worry, Supreme is a pretty good battle...but it's not the final boss, because he's not The End. Yeah, for being a literal moon of destruction, The End is kinda...meh (seriously, if I had a nickel for every time I fought a celestial body and it turned out to be kinda mid...I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, though it's weird that it happened twice); I feel like we could have gotten a fight on a grander scale, going around punching this thing, barely making a dent in it, showing how imposing this thing really is, and even having its attacks hurt you by taking away rings, which would show just how DANGEROUS this thing is considering there aren't many things capable of taking away Super Sonic's rings. Also, maybe just a nitpick from me, but I feel like "I'm With You", the beautiful instrumental theme for The End's fight, is missing lyrics: like, I can hear the lyrics screaming behind closed lips, and I so DESPERATELY want to hear them sing! Maybe later down the road we'll get a better, more complete-feeling fight, but eh...semantics. At least the other boss fights more than make up for the meh final fight.
Fun fact: I go out of my way to neuter out any mention of Kingdom Hearts on this list, save actual Disney/Final Fantasy stuff. Let's just say it's payback for a future countdown lol
The items that Star Dream summons were actually all over Nova's design! The weather vane, the pocket watch, the piano keys, the lightbulb, etc. were all essentially references to the first Clockwork Star in the series. I thought that was really neat.
In the last phase of the Dream Team battle, Bowser turns even more gigantic that he tries to squish Giant Luigi with his foot like a bug. I thought that should have had at least a quick mention during #10.
Giganto also looks exactly like Evangelion Unit 01, minus the shoulder pillars, which is another point in its favor that Frontiers is just Neon Genesis Sonicelion
Got to admit, one of my favorite mega boses was from the first God of War, Ares. Even from the beginning you see this god of a man towering over the city sweeping his arms about like a child knocking over his toy blocks and you know that as soon as you get close to him you are pretty much nothing compared to him. I mean the end fight makes you have to become giant yourself just to face him! That is how powerful ares is.
I’m so sad I didn’t hear mention of Mashtooth from The Legendary Starfy on the DS. After kicking his butt while he’s twice your size, he eats your friend whole and grows to 200 times your size. (These numbers are estimations because he doesn’t fit on just one screen. You both fly into space and after throwing asteroids at each other, he fakes you out and decides to laser the MOON at you, twice! I love that game.
Malus terrified me for a couple of reasons when I fought him. He's the only human Colossus and he doesn't walk, but rather is forced to stand there, losing over you and following you with an almost sentient intelligence. Also, when you view the dead colossi at the end of the game, he's the only one that doesn't crumble to a pile of rubble...he still stands in the limp position he died in Also, on a flipside, the largest Colossus, Phalanx, is the only Colossus that is not hostile towards you and simply awakens as it is made to by your presence with the sword. Realizing that was when I really started to wonder if I was the hero
Having a fondness for mecha games, it can be imposing when your giant 40-foot mech is pitted against another mech that is SO giant that it makes yours look like the size of a normal human. Such as the colossal 'totally not Big Zam' mean green machine used by dictator Venkar Amon in the final battle of Metal Warriors. A multi-phase gauntlet that has you taking out its deadly flail arm, its missile launcher arm, its front torso plating to expose the power core within, and then its hoverjets until it's reduced to mindlessly stomping around and releasing drones to kill you. Also blowing it up somehow doesn't kill Amon; he races you to escape the exploding base. The fight can be annoyingly luck-dependent, but it's satisfying to finally claim a victory.
I remember when I thought onix was huge. Then steelix came along, then wailord came along. Then eternatus broke that scale. I was like “that’s things insane.”
I'm a little sad that menace from Castlevania Dawn of sorrow didn't show up but overall I really enjoyed this list. Though I am filled with concern about what Ari is planning.
I have to give Jergingha from The Wonderful 101 a shoutout, just because of the escalation in sheer _scale_ you're dealing with. Just like Pikmin, you're a crowd of costumed heroes running around fighting robots many times your size. The first mega-moon you face is practically as big as a house, and you're like mice running around its feet. Then a giant robot bursts through the ground and you have to fight it on top of its arms like ants... and that's only a mid-stage hazard (it becomes a proper boss later). Things just escalate and escalate and _escalate_ until you're fighting Jergingha, a living fortress the size of a *planet* . And that aforementioned giant robot hazard/boss? You're now piloting an army of those to face Jergingha, and they're about as small compared to Jergingha as your minute human self is compared to _them_ . The scale is _ludicrous_ .
So fun fact about the entry for sonic frontiers, not a gamer alive can say they have played each boss in said game.. And not have either bopped to the songs or sung along with the songs as the battle is going.... I'll wait :3
What I don't get is why people riff on that laugh scene from FFX. If it's because of how cringy it is, that's by design. It's intended to be cringy That way, when they realize how ridiculous that fake laugh is, they have an emotional release into actual laughter.
Even if the remains of the Rotten Vale are of a Dalamadur Lavi3nte still would be bigger given that we haven't seen a Laviente that ever was trully full and satisfyed wich can lead to a further developement of the creature
Nice finish, though I also feel like mentioning Garm from God of War Ragnarok. A hound from hell that can chew through the fabric of the realms, and can’t really be killed. The fight with him was truly epic. Not as much as the fight later with Heimdall, but still.
I'm hoping in the month of love, you would do Top 10 Video Game Couples you know to mark the occasion of something special that's happening with you and Ari. (P.S I hope everyone knows what I'm talking about.)
Is it bad that the Eternamax Eternatus fight makes me think Yami from Okami? It's a giant hand, the coil behind sometimes looks like a ball, and this supposedly invincible being is taken down by the power of doggo.
With the new Final Fantasy XVI coming this year i bet we will have A LOT of both Epic and Giant Boss Battles with the Eikons. Hope they also bring more Summons to the game story like Leviathan, Alexander, and so on. Hopefully.
Honestly surprised that Yhorm the Giant did not make this list from Dark Souls 3. It is easy if you know what to do. Also, General Starscrouge Radahn is one of the best fights from Elden Ring with a giant-sized opponent.
Well, Fromsoftware has troube making giant bosses and dragon bosses, which is why most of them have a gimmick to them. The scale is fine but there isn't anything that special about the fight itself that make the size of the boss have that extra punch.
wasnt expecting monster hunter and certainly not Laviente(or Raviente if you go by the partial english translation) I would have thought Lao Shan Lung or Dalamadur even Gogmazios.
I knew Malus would be in here, hell anyone who ever play SotC would. But I knew Kronos was high up as soon as I saw the Colossus of Rhodes for a second.
11:48-11:50 More like "WHERE'S MY TETRALOGY?!" #MAKESLY5! And no, I'm not gonna stop saying that on anything that mentions Sly Cooper until Sony finally starts listening to us and gives us the sequel we deserve after ten years of no closure!
As much as I enjoyed Metal Gear Excelsus, I feel Peace Walker was the better mech fight from metal gear. While not as big, the tension you feel as you face a countdown to the launch of a nuke, tied to the real fight beginning when the count stops made for a more hype fight for me. There's also the Rex vs Ray fight because, well IT'S FREAKING REX VS RAY!
If you ever do a sequel: Attack on Titan Serious Sam 1 and then 3.. and then holy shit #4. In that order. Janky, but epic. Viewtiful Joe 1: you pilot a Moon sized mech. Then in Viewtifule Joe 2 you are Jupiter sized. I assume if they ever made #3 you would be galaxy sized. Intrusion 2 ua-cam.com/video/6d9RAmNgAeQ/v-deo.html Ultra Kill 2 : The Corpse King ua-cam.com/video/_ic2mGhxneg/v-deo.html Doom Eternal with the Icon of Sin. World of Warcraft. Gears of War: that worm
When it comes to giant bosses I usually think that the best ones are ones that make you feel like you're the size of an ant compared to this beast that you're fighting. If you have to climb up the giants body or avoid attacks that would kill you instantly if you make a mistake that would be great. Because it makes your eventual victory against a colossal enemy all the more satisfying.
I know people normally go with Wyzen from Asura's Wrath, when it comes to lists like this, but I'm really hoping we see Chakravartin instead, considering his size at the end of the game eclipses Wyzen's by a massive amount.
Well… he was mentioned, but as Josh said, you break him down to a more Asura-friendly size. On the other hand, Wyzen would’ve killed Asura right at the start it took more than breaking one of his titanic fingers to defeat him.
Yeah, he is bigger than Wyzen at the end of the game, but that's not all there is to a giant enemy. I feel like Wyzen gave you a much better sense of scale, something that was achieved precisely because he didn't have those literally astronomical proportions. Second, I really liked the final phase of Chakravartin where he's shrinking back down. After all, what does size matter to a being of creation, and the arena they fought in was quite esoteric and alien, which I liked.
@@kylestubbs8867 Really makes no sense, because when it boils down to it, its just about when in their respected fights they are their normal size or the god mode size. Wysen was god mode size at the final part, while Chakravartin was god mode at the first phase of his, so really both entities are capable of becoming huge, we just don't beat Chakravartin while he is.
Okay, let's do this. Also, love how he used "Big Shot" as the song between entries. 15: Who else knew that he was going to be here? (Giant Bowser (Mario)) 14: Scarecrow is a seriously underrated villain in Batman's rogue's gallery. (Scarecrow (Arkham)) 13: Why is it that Kirby is the only Nintendo game that is credited with having so many eldritch horrors? I mean, LOOK AT THIS THING! (Quaggled Mireclops (Pikmin 3)) 12: The pattern continues; a new generation comes out, and the fanbase turns their attention of hatred onto the new game and gives the old one the credit it deserved. At least Scarlet/Violet has some of the best storytelling in the franchise to compensate for how buggy it was on release. (Eternatus (Sword & Shield)) 11: I ALWAYS got hit with the attack that turns Bayonetta back into a child, WITHOUT FAIL. (Jubileus (Bayonetta)) 10: Honestly, I see why people like Carmelita, but she's just not my style. (Giant Carmelita (Sly 3)) 9: So, despite being the poster child of the franchise, is Rathalos just... bad? Because I never hear anyone talking about the thing. (Berserk Laviente (Monster Hunter Frontier Z)) 8: I am apparently really bad at button mashing, because as soon as this colossus goes for its big bite attack to swallow Sonic whole, I always barely run out of time and have to start the fight all over again. (Giganto (Sonic Frontiers)) 7: I REALLY need to play this game. (Metal Gear Excelsus (Metal Gear Rising)) 6: Can we PLEASE get another game from this franchise already? Or at least a remaster? (Hades (Kid Icarus Uprising)) 5: This is why humanity sucks most of the time. (Malus (Shadow of the Colossus)) 4: That thing looks EPIC! (Sin (Final Fantasy X)) 3: Maybe I can stop him in time! BEAM ATTACK! (Star Dream (Kirby Planet Robobot)) 2: And this is the first boss?! (Wyzen (Asura's Wrath)) 1: Now THIS is a Titan! (Cronos (God fo War 3))
with the monster hunter thing i think its not so much that his fight is bad per se, its just not as big or as flashy as the other monsters in the series (especially the "final bosses" like alatreon or dalamadur.) he shares this with many of the flagships like lagiacrus, misutsune and malzeno where they might be the cover monsters but they get overshadowed by others in their own title in terms of scale or spectacle. even his own variants are often more referenced then he is in the grand scheme of it, unless you look at certain parts of the internet (the ones we all know of, acknowledge and often not want to see) anyways.
Rathalos is basically the Pikachu of the franchise: iconic, reliable in all sorts of situations, and outclassed by not only other choices, but other related to it (Pikachu evolves to the stronger Raichu after all, and Rathalos has had a few variations, from its two subspecies (azure and silver) apex form in rise, and the deviant firm in Generations). It's not that's a bad monster or holding the franchise back, but it's armor and weapons doesn't hold up in the endgame as well as it's variants or even elder dragons. Besides that, the list is about giant bosses, so it really couldn't have been a good entry for this list. Maybe if he does an iconic monsters list, or talks about his favorite Monster Hunter fight, then we might see Rathalos. Also you can dodge Giganto's laser and parry the attack where he tries to eat you. That second one gives you the chance to hit him with a powerful counter, which should beat him easier.
2: Technically the actual first boss is Vlitra, a demonic entity that emerges from the planet's core and leaves a hole the size of Russia by the time you beat it back. And that's literally chapter 1.
Honorable Mentions: *Jergingha - The Wonderful 101 -The final boss of The Wonderful 101 goes all out with a planet-sized space station that's also a sentient transformer. *Yaldabaoth - Persona 5 -From a giant holy grail to another transformer. All leading up to the final shot right from your newly acquired persona, Satanael. Special mention goes out to Adam Kadmon at the end of Persona 5 Royal. *Mutated Heisenberg - Resident Evil Village -Magneto Van Helsing becomes a giant mechanical monster that looks like something out of Tetsuo, The Iron Man. And you go toe to toe with him in a tank before losing it in phase 2 and then regaining control to blow up Heisenberg for the final blow. *Yamata-No-Orochi - Nioh -Not to be confused with Orochi from Okami, THIS Orochi serves as the final boss of Nioh. Facing off against the 8-headed serpent atop a temple. Pro-tip: Trick Orochi into destroying the crystals to stun one of the heads. *Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy - Elden Ring -First, you face off with the God-Devouring Serpent, then you are revealed Rykard's true face. It's on the serpent's back, pulling a corpse-coated blade out of the snake's mouth, you are thrown into one last phase. Its recommended you use the spear to slay this snake.
As far as a Persona god goes? I'd still give the lean to Ameno-Sagiri. A rainbow neon Sea-Mine with an eye is...fantastic. It makes a ton of sense for what it is (the spirit of fog), and isn't really a design you'd see in a normal fantasy JRPG. Yaldabaoth, though, is absolutely "normal fantasy JRPG" stuff.
Having Big Shot be the transition music for this list is somehow both unexpected and perfect in the context of the entries. I mean, who has more of a chance to be a BIG SHOT than a colossus of a boss?
We playing with the Big Boys and Girls now! 15? Dang beeg list is BEEG. 15: Bower starts with a Trio of Godzilla sized brawls, personal favorite is the Dream Team fight. 14: Nightmare Scarecrow screwing with Bat's brain. 13: Relative size or not that is a big clam. 12: He is the hand of a dark GOD! Too bad he goes down hard. 11: A Star sized Deity, holy crap we might see her again.... 10: Long arm of law becomes extra long because of cursed mask. 9: 10 meters... Dala got dethroned by ten metered... MMO bosses what you gonna do? 8: Speeding into a big wall. 7: The Prelude before a Huge Ham is a Super Sized Mecha. 6: Well there goes the fourth wall, Hades don't eat my soul... I'm under seasoned. 5: Massive Emotions go into the fight against Malus, don't waver or drop out 4: WHALE! Just... WHALE! 3: That's no Moon.... that's a huge CLOCK! 2: To Quote Josh himself, "COME AT ME BRO!" 1: Stretching pass all other is Kratos Grande Sized Grand Pappy. Sounds like Ahri has plans.
34:00 This cements the fight as on of the greatest instances of a first impression I've ever seen. Like, he becomes the size of the planet itself and Asura STILL manages to win.
I do think it's funny that most of the other fights never reach that same scale (not saying they're bad just not... that big), and it's pointed out that it's explicitly because Wyzen actually used up all of the other gods' powers to fuel up that super form. It's been a while since I saw the gameplay, but I know that a lot of the actual plot issues and such are because Wyzen used so much of the Mantra that had been saved for his super form that all the other gods had to redouble their "farming efforts" to get it back.
@@karmicrespite5737 That and Wyzen's planet-sized form was just all talk. I mean, Asura just had to punch one of his fingers hard enough to kill him. Clearly, this giant form wasn't stable at all. And the other Gods knew that and they proved that they were right. Yasha, Augus, and Deus would eat Wyzen's planet-sized form for breakfast.
That is true… but even at his largest, Void Termina only towers over Kirby and his allies as they are. Star Dream, when forced to bring the whole Access Ark against a robotized battleship Halberd, makes _that_ seem like an insect. It even spends one phase trying to literally swat it away.
For some reason I thought of Void Termina before Star Dream despite the latter being FAR larger in size. It's just that Void Termina's first phase has such heavy weight to its movements that it _feels_ big, even if in actuality it's smaller than many bosses on this list. Also, Void's true form is pretty standard-sized, so that might've also been a knock against it for the purposes of this list, similar to Chakravartin.
One of the 16 Colossi has to be on this list. But which one? Phalanx? Malus? Those would be my best guesses as the best bosses of Shadow of the Colossus.
Honest question: Is it ever implied anywhere that Malus is _inside_ the tower? Josh is the second person I’ve heard describe that final battle by saying “Is he _in_ that tower? No, he _is_ the tower.” Strange way to present the finale of the game called “Shadow of the Colossus”, after defeating mostly creatures that couldn’t _fit_ in a tower that narrow.
I have a suggestion, Top Ten Earth Bosses. Exemples like: Earthrock Trilobyte from Megaman X8, Sandman from Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, Titan from Final Fantasy XVI, and so on. Earth elemental bosses including those related to Earth, Rock, Sand, Crystals and Minerals.
The Giant Bowser fight of the first Yoshi's Island will always be my personal favorite Giant Bowser fight. Because I feel like it captures the actual absolute terror of a giant Bowser. The way you can barely see his face anymore, the way he slowly makes his way to you and shakes the ground, the music... it just has this intense atmosphere some of the others lack for me.
9:56 May be one of my favorite moments in this list. Not just because of Ari’s little musical interlude, but because of the expression of pure LOVE on Josh’s face. That isn’t the Firey Joker in that brief moment, it’s simply Josh looking at the love of his life. It’s all just so adorable. 🥰
Some of my fav Giant bosses or that I find notable are: Dark Gaia (Sonic Unleashed) Metal Gear Excelsius (Metal Gear Rising) Skullord (Twilight Princess) Wakaba or Adam Kadmon (P5R) Goliath EMP (Nier Automata) Destroyer (Romancing Saga 3) Titans (Kingdom Hearts 3) Dragon Xemnas (Kingdom Hearts 2) Jubileus (Bayonetta)
I wanna say The Endsinger from Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is an awesome giant final boss. While not the biggest boss in gaming, the lead up to the fight is amazing; you represent Hope and she represents Despair. You’re riding on the back of Zenos who has taken the form of the dragon Shinryu and just as it seems like The Endsinger has taken you out…*your* phase 2 begins, your theme song playing as her movements become panicked and erratic until finally, she falls.
Sad, no boss from Wonderful 101 made it on the list. Just about all of them are great, even Jergingha for its scale and spectacle with him being built up for the entire game.
When I saw malus and I heard the theme I genuinely didn’t wanna fight him not because he was scary but because the music and just the grandiosity he is
Malus is an absolutely terrifying boss the first time you fight him and I think him being the most human-looking doesn't help. All the others are animals or monsters but then you get Malus who also follows your moves with an almost intelligence
Disgaea 1 has a giant boss they use as comedy prop. "We would normally be scared of such a threat , if we could see more than just your foot!" From sarcastic teen years to scared adulthood. It's strange to think about how big the small things are , and why we look at big things.
@@smugsneasel I recently started playing the series with 2 PC and 5 Complete and I will say that Super Overlord Baal could have made it onto this list from the videos I’ve seen
A couple bosses I'd put on the list. S-02. A giant robot snake in The Amazing Spider-Man game. This game has a good handful of giant robots Spidey has to fight. Trypticon. A massive space station/orbital laser cannon/Deception. The 9th level is about shutting down Trypticon Station, only for the Autobots to learn the massive, city sized weapon is a living being. And the 10th level is just a fight against the massive beast. Twinmo.....oh you put it in honorable mentions. Ok. Territorial Rotbart. Big level 81 gorilla in all three Xenoblade Chronicles games that the devs put in a super early spot just to make players piss themselves. Level 81 boss, and you're no higher than level 15 by the time you meet it. And even 15 is pushing it.
Sometimes it's fun to fight these giant bosses because of the size you are from them and it's satisfying when you beat them and I do like how these videos get a little bit big to watch now
There is a discrepancy with chakravartin it in his final battle in Asura's Wrath. He is actually the size of Asura in his destroyer form since it's shown that Asura is in that form when he gets to the event horizon. The event horizon just makes everything to scale! The truth of the matter is he still the size of a damn planet. A lot of people just don't get that inside the event horizon Asura is still canonically in his destroyer form he is not sized down he has just reached the inner layer of Chakravartin's Golden Buddha form which in and of itself is a pocket dimension where everything is a size of a damned planet!
Honorable Mentions: -Any "kaiju fight" in the Bayonetta series: I'll admit, Hideki Kamiya was a huge fan of Godzilla and Ultraman, and it shows. Bayonetta 3 had the most since the game gave more attention to the demons Cereza shared a pact with. -The Titans in Olympus, Kingdom Hearts III: Magma, Wind, Ice, and Earth. With the assistance of a demigod like Hercules, Sora uses parkour to annihilate each and every titan(excluding the Cyclops, I guess) as a more Disney oriented and innocent Kratos. Really excited to see the Quadratum Darkside fight to kick off Kingdom Hearts IV when it finally releases. -Beast Ganon, Zelda Breath of the Wild: A finale to remember. Link gains the light arrows from Zelda's spirit, and goes on horseback to finish off this eltrich abomination! The music is quite intense also. -MG Ray and MG Hippocampus(or whatever it's called), Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain: First one proves Rules of Nature creates hype, while an Indiana Jones villain reject stomps around in a mecha and Big Boss uses the same-ass bombs to destroy it. -The Mermaid Queen, Wilbur, and Empress Siren, Shantae Half Genie Hero, and Shantae and the Seven Sirens: There are some who think they're fucking hot for some reason, except the giant worm pet of Mary Sue Shantae(Holly Lingerbean). It wouldn't be Shantae without our favorite gal having surroundings to focus on so the colossi will fall as one of the starter bosses or final boss. -Mundus and Urizen, Devil May Cry 1 and Devil May Cry 5: Though the latter isn't technically the same size as the King of the Underworld, they count. Firstly a battle in the sky, and on land, then the final hit alongside Trish with the quote "Jackpot!". Urizen on the other hand, is just Vergil's devil half manifested into some titanic monstrosity. After eating the Qliphoth Fruit, Urizen(or should I say Vergil's other next to V) gets his tree root like body fall off of him and reveal the appearance of a rejected kaiju design. I can see the connection between DMC5 and DragonBall Z with Goku's more powerful Super Saiyan forms(as hinted with the inspiration to Sin Devil Trigger for Dante) and Massive Ape form of Vegeta(Urizen for Vergil excluding V since he's more in line with a Nobody).

Also, when you view the dead colossi at the end of the game, he's the only one that doesn't crumble to a pile of rubble...he still stands in the limp position he died in
Also, on a flipside, the largest Colossus, Phalanx, is the only Colossus that is not hostile towards you and simply awakens as it is made to by your presence with the sword.
Josh: I'm looking forward to the Month of Love
Ari: Oh, so am I darling~
Me: You set yourself up for that, man.
Sonic Team has been hit or miss for a long time, but when they hit, it's memorable.
The trope is "Large Ham."
Sooo Wyzen was literally Freeza from TFS.
"Bigger. **DOOM** BIGGER. **DOOM** BIGGER!!! **DOOM** "
Now the inverse when you get a chance: Top 10 Smallest Bosses sometime in the future
I understand why you didn’t include him but Charlie McDonald (plus his cheerleaders) from nmh2 will be my go to pick for giant bosses
20:00 Sonic Superstars!!!! That's the answer to your prayers!!!!!!
I love seeing both Sonic and MH representation :)
I am happy that Giganto is on this list. It’s my favorite boss from Sonic Frontiers.
FIGHT THE POWER.
Hopefully.
Did it live up to your expectations?
What's going to happen next on next months countdown-
If we get a villain song month and undefeateable doesn’t get on one list I’m gonna be so sad
forgot to mention the fact, Kratos pretty much killed his Grandfather in that battle.
26:23 judging by how many grimdark fics bronies have made and dubbed, yes it is too much to ask, apparently
As soon as I saw Kirby I knew it would be star dream
Dude I love Your videos but maaaaaan how many adds do you need per video?
Honestly surprised that Yhorm the Giant did not make this list from Dark Souls 3. It is easy if you know what to do.
Also, General Starscrouge Radahn is one of the best fights from Elden Ring with a giant-sized opponent.
Well, Fromsoftware has troube making giant bosses and dragon bosses, which is why most of them have a gimmick to them. The scale is fine but there isn't anything that special about the fight itself that make the size of the boss have that extra punch.
8:54 I agree Editor.
wasnt expecting monster hunter and certainly not Laviente(or Raviente if you go by the partial english translation) I would have thought Lao Shan Lung or Dalamadur even Gogmazios.
I knew Malus would be in here, hell anyone who ever play SotC would. But I knew Kronos was high up as soon as I saw the Colossus of Rhodes for a second.
Pre-watch prediction: something from Shadow of the Colossus is going to be #1 !
STTGL be like: Wait those are Giants?
Rais of hands: How many predicted that Wyzen was going to be somewhere in the top 3 of this list? I know I was.
8:00 Pokémon needs a new game plus mode
I wonder will josh one day do a top 10 on the best orc/ork bosses in games.
Calling a Pikmin boss showing up
As much as I enjoyed Metal Gear Excelsus, I feel Peace Walker was the better mech fight from metal gear. While not as big, the tension you feel as you face a countdown to the launch of a nuke, tied to the real fight beginning when the count stops made for a more hype fight for me. There's also the Rex vs Ray fight because, well IT'S FREAKING REX VS RAY!
What about Oryx or Riven of a thousand voices?
How did star dream just grow in size
Calling it. Wyzen is gonna be in this list.
I am going to assume #1 is that guy from wrath of ashura
I was wrong
Sin is brilliant, but I LIKE The Endsinger
Any shadow of the colossus boss
How many are unaware that the objects Star Dream summons are all objects that are attached to Nova?
Your wife is laughing run
Aww, Ansem from KH1 and Chernabog didn't even make honorable mentions? :(
If next month count down is cuties couples on UA-cam imo you and your wife should be #1
If you ever do a sequel:
Attack on Titan
Serious Sam 1 and then 3.. and then holy shit #4. In that order. Janky, but epic.
Viewtiful Joe 1: you pilot a Moon sized mech. Then in Viewtifule Joe 2 you are Jupiter sized. I assume if they ever made #3 you would be galaxy sized.

Agreed.
(Giant Bowser (Mario))
14: Scarecrow is a seriously underrated villain in Batman's rogue's gallery. (Scarecrow (Arkham))
13: Why is it that Kirby is the only Nintendo game that is credited with having so many eldritch horrors? I mean, LOOK AT THIS THING! (Quaggled Mireclops (Pikmin 3))
12: The pattern continues; a new generation comes out, and the fanbase turns their attention of hatred onto the new game and gives the old one the credit it deserved. At least Scarlet/Violet has some of the best storytelling in the franchise to compensate for how buggy it was on release. (Eternatus (Sword & Shield))
11: I ALWAYS got hit with the attack that turns Bayonetta back into a child, WITHOUT FAIL. (Jubileus (Bayonetta))
10: Honestly, I see why people like Carmelita, but she's just not my style. (Giant Carmelita (Sly 3))
9: So, despite being the poster child of the franchise, is Rathalos just... bad? Because I never hear anyone talking about the thing. (Berserk Laviente (Monster Hunter Frontier Z))
8: I am apparently really bad at button mashing, because as soon as this colossus goes for its big bite attack to swallow Sonic whole, I always barely run out of time and have to start the fight all over again. (Giganto (Sonic Frontiers))
7: I REALLY need to play this game. (Metal Gear Excelsus (Metal Gear Rising))
6: Can we PLEASE get another game from this franchise already? Or at least a remaster? (Hades (Kid Icarus Uprising))
5: This is why humanity sucks most of the time. (Malus (Shadow of the Colossus))
4: That thing looks EPIC! (Sin (Final Fantasy X))
3: Maybe I can stop him in time! BEAM ATTACK! (Star Dream (Kirby Planet Robobot))
2: And this is the first boss?! (Wyzen (Asura's Wrath))
1: Now THIS is a Titan!
The only Monster Hunter game where I did not dread the very thought of fighting Rathalos was in Rise.
2: Technically the actual first boss is Vlitra, a demonic entity that emerges from the planet's core and leaves a hole the size of Russia by the time you beat it back. And that's literally chapter 1.
Honorable Mentions:
*Jergingha - The Wonderful 101
-The final boss of The Wonderful 101 goes all out with a planet-sized space station that's also a sentient transformer.
*Yaldabaoth - Persona 5
-From a giant holy grail to another transformer. All leading up to the final shot right from your newly acquired persona, Satanael. Special mention goes out to Adam Kadmon at the end of Persona 5 Royal.
*Mutated Heisenberg - Resident Evil Village
-Magneto Van Helsing becomes a giant mechanical monster that looks like something out of Tetsuo, The Iron Man. And you go toe to toe with him in a tank before losing it in phase 2 and then regaining control to blow up Heisenberg for the final blow.
*Yamata-No-Orochi - Nioh
-Not to be confused with Orochi from Okami, THIS Orochi serves as the final boss of Nioh. Facing off against the 8-headed serpent atop a temple. Pro-tip: Trick Orochi into destroying the crystals to stun one of the heads.
*Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy - Elden Ring
-First, you face off with the God-Devouring Serpent, then you are revealed Rykard's true face.
Then there’s the guardian from darksiders 2, any of the xemnas phase 2-4 boss fights, and groundshaker from kh2, and Mundus from devil may cry
@@tracemacmillan9718 One boss that is kinda big is Mr Patch from Banjo Tooie. Two words inflatable Godzilla.
Having Big Shot be the transition music for this list is somehow both unexpected and perfect in the context of the entries. I mean, who has more of a chance to be a BIG SHOT than a colossus of a boss?
Who sings it?

Well this list is going to be huge. Hehehehehe. 😉😂 (Not sorry for the pun.)
5: Massive Emotions go into the fight against Malus, don't waver or drop out
4: WHALE! Just... WHALE!
3: That's no Moon.... that's a huge CLOCK!

1: Stretching pass all other is Kratos Grande Sized Grand Pappy.
Sounds like Ahri has plans.
After whatching Puss in Boots The Last Wish, how about a Top Ten Fairy Tale Themed Bosses Josh?
17:58 It's really nice when a Sonic boss has nothing to do with Eggman. Sure, Sage provokes Giganto, but still.
Sage also shares Rei's VAs. ENG and JP
Netflix or original?
I think Void Termina from Kirby Star Allies is both giant and epic.
Malus! There’s your answer.
Glad I’m not the only one who thought that. To say nothing of the absolute BANGER music.
Jubulius jubulius xd
I would love a countdown of bosses who you are meant to lose against to progress the game.
he showed the final boss of Ys 7... but didn't mention it :3 I wait for the day he talks about it or, more importantly to me, the music during it.
Some of my fav Giant bosses or that I find notable are:
Dark Gaia (Sonic Unleashed)
Metal Gear Excelsius (Metal Gear Rising)
Skullord (Twilight Princess)
Wakaba or Adam Kadmon (P5R)
Goliath EMP (Nier Automata)
Destroyer (Romancing Saga 3)
Titans (Kingdom Hearts 3)
Dragon Xemnas (Kingdom Hearts 2)
Jubileus (Bayonetta)
Here's hoping One from the Mario and Luigi series gets on the list!
My pick is Peach's Castle from Bowser's Inside Story.
God of War, Bayonetta and Kingdom Hearts boss battles are EPIC.
8:54 - I agree with editor. Wish Maker Jirachi was great, and Jirachi is one of the best Mythical Pokémon to date. *FIGHT ME AND LOSE.*
Disgaea 1 has a giant boss they use as comedy prop.
"We would normally be scared of such a threat , if we could see more than just your foot!"
From sarcastic teen years to scared adulthood.
It's strange to think about how big the small things are , and why we look at big things.
More people need to play Disgaea, man...
Fun fact: Watchmojo’s video on this topic was the first countdown I ever watched, so seeing you cover this topic feels pretty nostalgic.
Honorable Mentions:
-Any "kaiju fight" in the Bayonetta series: I'll admit, Hideki Kamiya was a huge fan of Godzilla and Ultraman, and it shows.
Wait top ten giant bosses this means top ten kaiju-sized bosses cause if they go giant they can reach the height of some specific kaiju
