Hi. I am impressed by your substantial investment into your stream aquarium. Nice to view. Keep up the updates. I am a long term hobbyist and had been through the very basic to CO2 , micro nutrient stuff and all. Even diy refilling co2. Of all this none had been more exciting than my present filteration system, not even the wet dry or K1, even better than the genesis systems. Most will do this ammonia to nitrite to nitrates. The anoxic system does this amonia, nitrites, nitrates back to nitrogen gas. Under very low oxygen levels another group of bacteria uses the oxygen in the NO3. I think we malaysians should start to use this system. Laterite which is a very important material is almost everywhere here. The anoxic uses ionic/electrical charge. difussion, and convection forces to draw positive ions[ammonia] even nitrates into the filter. Feel free to ask or contact me.
Hi There, i guess my stream tank concept is still one of a kind in Malaysia. Hope it can inspire others to build one too. Yes, removing nitrate is a topic which I would like to explore. Been doing alot of research on this but haven't really tried it yet. I was thinking to adopt the method used by saltwater reefers, either to create an algae reactor (using moss or Riccia fluitans) or to create a sulfur reactor which can help bring down the nitrate besides doing weekly water change. BTW, how do I get in touch with you?
@@TheStreamAffair Very feasible to incorporate it into your system. I have tried those that you mentioned but this anoxic beats them all. very simple yet effective if you know how to tweak it. No expensive media. Take a look at my aquarium. No major ugly hair algae. I am into the least expenses route after been milked by the shops.

Hi there..what kind of media are you using? your water is cloudy is because of bacteria bloom and your tank might not be fully matured yet. Please try to do alternate days of water change at around 50% and make sure you are using dechlorinated water to top up.
