When it comes to technical layers, they are not all made equally. Sometimes you end up with an amazing garment that blurs the lines as well, such as the Defiant Hoodie by Prometheus Design Werx.
The Defiant Hoodie is an incredibly well designed technical layer that is a soft shell, but shares a number of features usually reserved for hard shells. For one, it is actually waterproof with taped seams. But it gets even better in that the material is 4-way stretch. Allowing for plenty of dynamic movement on any adventure.

I just recently picked up the Viktos softshell (can't remember the exact name) and I've been really enjoying that jacket. Just due to the material, I did not expect it to be waterproof! This hoodies seems awesome!

+2 Zach. The last thing I need is another jacket. However, this type of jacket is 4 season (with layers) makes this surpass a windcheater / hardshell rain jacket, like a GoreTex jacket. Thanks for this...will get one now!

This seems to work really well and cold and in snow, but how is it in a solid downpour? Anybody own either this, a TAD stealth LT or Thrudark raid? So hard to find any reviews!

Yes it is.
It is absurd to me that “tactical” jackets have pit zips that don’t come all the way to the seam so you can zip up for sidearm access (or climbing equip) ease-something way more useful than a cute button to release bungee tension. I hope OR doesn’t stop making pit zips that come up.

395 for this product. The material and design Are great but the price point does not seem worth it. Lifetime warranty? Durability? Feel like this another product from cali that is over priced because its designed in cali but made overseas. Hope to hear more on this in the future to see how long the soft shell lasts.
Sounds like a great product, however you lost me at "bay area" I would never knowingly spend money on a product that would support the bay area or even California if there was a choice!
