  • Hey Everyone!
My name is Dan, and I am a veterinarian. Today I am talking about Healthy Paws Pets Insurance.
Pet insurance is a type of coverage that helps pet owners manage the cost of veterinary care for their pets. Just like health insurance for humans, pet insurance provides financial protection in case your pet requires medical treatment for illnesses, accidents, or injuries.
Here are some key points about pet insurance:
Coverage: Pet insurance typically covers veterinary expenses, including but not limited to:
    Illnesses
    Accidents
    Surgeries
    Diagnostic tests
    Prescription medications
Premiums: Pet owners pay a monthly or annual premium to the insurance company in exchange for coverage. The cost of premiums can vary based on factors such as the pet's breed, age, and the level of coverage chosen.
Deductibles: Similar to human insurance, pet insurance often includes a deductible. This is the amount the pet owner must pay out of pocket before the insurance coverage kicks in.
Reimbursement: After paying for veterinary services, pet owners submit a claim to the insurance company. The insurance provider then reimburses a percentage of the eligible expenses, based on the chosen coverage plan.
Exclusions and Waiting Periods: Pet insurance policies may have exclusions, pre-existing condition limitations, and waiting periods before certain coverages take effect. It's important to carefully review the terms and conditions of any policy.
Types of Policies: There are different types of pet insurance policies, including accident-only coverage, illness coverage, and comprehensive coverage that combines both. Some policies may also offer additional coverage for preventive care.
It's essential to research and compare different pet insurance providers to find a plan that suits your pet's needs and your budget. Additionally, consider factors such as coverage limits, customer reviews, and the ease of the claims process.
Always talk with your veterinarian before getting pet insurance. It is really helpful to get their advice, because they are the ones providing your pet's medical care.

I been with them for 3 years since my girl was 1 year old. I never had any problems with them paying my claims and I have filed 9 of them with reimbursement amounts of under $400.
I don’t know if the experience would be different with bigger sums, but all my claims have been paid in under 1 week.
*However, like dr. Dan said it’s extremely important to get an exam done with vet notes and everything, as well as any other medical history and documentation and summit it BEFORE your pet gets sick/ file your first claim. This way they don’t have any leverage to denied any future claims.
They raise their rate by about $20 per year, regardless of the amount of claims you file, that doesn’t affect the raise.
For reference: I have 90% coverage with $200 deductible, I have a German shepherd and I am in Florida. In my opinion this options are the best bang for your buck if you want unlimited coverage and can afford the monthly payments.
PRO Tip: set up direct deposit reimbursements. payouts will happen so much faster!

I have not heard of this happening, but increasing rates with age are common…always check.
