Or perhaps youth in the USA are more prone to be Christian than those here.

Jesus came to earth because he loves us all. Since transition wasn't a thing in biblical times it's kinda hard to find suitable passages. But we can commonly understand from the Bible that God gave us our bodies and our lives and we may not cast that away frivolously. We need to treat our bodies as temples. But if our feelings and bodies allow ourself to sin, then it's also justified to cast from us what has us sinning. The thieving hand, the lustful eye. I'm a classic transsexual and i know that my feelings towards my body are abnormal and had me on a path towards sinning. Because i wanted to throw myself in front of a train. So i cast from me what gave me anguish and i embrace life again. For Christians to say transition should be impossible within the faith strikes me as odd. If you have cancer you may cut it out. If you're ill a treatment is allowed. For severe gender dysphoria the best known treatment so far (and they did try many other things in the past) is transition. For Christians to reject it because it irks them to me is just that. Anything beyond it feels like using the bible as a rod for the sake of it. The only people i would accept it from would be Jehova's witnesses, because they at least also deny themselves medical treatments.
