I totally agree....
We only have one Planet to live on, which many seem to forget.
And Sadly it all comes down to HOW much money could be made from destroying our Mother Earth's body, our nature...
So Colette is a Counterpart to all this... And I hope more people will join the movement "to save our Planet" from total Destruction.
Sweden is a Country that has come far with having a Sustainable environment and is one of the "leading" Countries in the world thinking like that.....
Even youngsters like toodlers at Day Care are learning how to recycle most things and how inmportant it is to be careful with plants and trees, etc..
And a fun way to help, especially children, to learn about this, is to use something that we in Sweden call "Skräpmonstren" or
Sopsamlarmontren"... They are small figures with names like "Metallica" or "Pappis" etc.and they help children to learn about the importance of being careful and in a way "honor" Mother Earth in a fun way ... Check them out, especially if you have young children/grandchildren around you!🤗💖.
I am using them myself in the Preschool and they are very popular here in Sweden!🤗🌱🙂💖👍🏻🌱🌱

My husband worked at the Peat Bog Nuclear Power - Plant in Co Offaly
He lodged in Boyle with a lovely local family
Mrs Daly.
Husband took me to visit the Peat Plant
I was then 19yrs old
We climbed the ladder of
100 feet to the rooftop’s
I was scared silly , yet those views were
So amazing .
I am a senior now and long for a return
To my roots in Belfast
However the difficulty is all my own family
Including my two brothers and their families
All here in Canada
I decided to accept my old uncle’s invitation
To immigrate as the 1970 & 1980 ‘s outbreak
Left so much heartbreak
So now I have lived longer in Canada 🍁 much longer
Than my whole life in Nr Ireland
Ps love the sounds of the babbling brook
Love ❤ your fire pit and love how you have found
Your wee Patsy after the loss of beloved Jack
Life continues , you are so hard working at what

The old man who owned it passed away years before I bought it.
Love your independence. Patsy girl is a dear little one and she steals the show. I still miss Jack… he was such a great boy.. Patsy is entirely different which is a good thing I think. She’s a fiest of a little girl and I love her markings and sassy little nature. Be well.

My great-grandmother Catherine Gaughan came to America from Ballina, County Mayo.
She and my grandmother would see shoes on a table (even brand-new shoes) and sternly declare,
“No shoes on the table! It’s bad luck!”
While they would undoubtedly be impressed by your bargain, I wonder if you know that saying/belief?
My great-grandmother passed on before I was born in the early 1960’s. I never heard the sound of her voice or lilt.
Yet somehow when I see your cottage and your land, when I hear your beautiful accent, I feel like I’m finally home.

I also love the smell of wood smoke - when I would go back to my hometown to visit years ago, I would ask my father to light the wood stove even in the summer so I could smell it :)
How fun to find a bargain treasure! Especially when it will keep your feet cozy.
It is now going on five years since I found your channel Colette. Every video I have seen...and I also go back and see your previous videos of years ago, I always get inspirations for my home and landscape. When I go shopping at thrift stores, I am always searching for that unknown particular item(s) to go in my yard. It does not need to be brand new because it will be outside in all sorts of weather.
Patsy has the best bed covering. Can you blame her for not wanting to get up?!
The entance to your property looks so grand and especially with those big rocks in the front. I know you mentioned about taking down that fence. Looking at it know and since you plan on keeping that area cut, I actually think the fence gives your entrance character. A good paint job and some sort of night light would benefit those who drive by at night.
I had considered painting it but it is thoroughly rotten.

I'm jealous that you have flowers starting to bloom, and lots of greenery. In Pennsylvania we are still covered in snow. It is beautiful to look at but it is difficult to move around in. Can't wait for my flowers to start blooming.

Our President Franklin D. Roosevelt tried to pass an economic bill of rights but sadly passed away before it could be implemented. If what his administration did was still in place our world be a much better place. Still we do the best we can. Love your slipper boots. I also love what you’ve done with your cottage. Perfect house shoes/slippers.😊 Being as independent as possible for as long as possible is strengthening. Honoring our past through independence is so gratifying. I have wonderful memories of this from my family of pioneers in Oregon, USA. Having had a terrier, I understand the need to keep them leashed. They are tenacious terriers. I'm so happy to see you've cut things back so your exit from the property is much safer. By the way, the very few commercials do not bother me in the least. My son is a documentary/content creator with a degree in English and a writing minor, as well as many other endevors. He is able to limit the commercials as he also doesn't want to disrupt the flow of his work. Blessings to you.

Good evening to you Colette, it's good to be able to get out and get on with the garden work, ground here still soggy in parts, I started in the back garden at 10:00 am so engrossed was I when I had stopped because of more rain I was so surprised the time was 3:15 pm. Oh yes we can become so involved with cutting back and clearing pathways , topping trees etc. I like your fire pit great idea. Patsy looks perfect in your coat.

I love what you’ve achieved, I so wish I’d done something similar when I was younger, but life is unpredictable and I’ve been fortunate to live in a rural area and enjoyed nature, at 75 it’s too late to achieve your level of self reliance but it was my dream , I applaud you for taking that first step and having the courage to make your dream happen. ❤️
Hiya Colette, oh I have a recent charity find too share. Soo it’s 15 min before closing and I’m walking out I spy a pair of tall dark blue wellies with cable knit sock inserts and the name Hunter they are the true deal and perhaps worn twice. The volunteer had tried them on just before said didn’t like the removal Sox? Drummm rolll I got them for 29:95$cdn soo of course I googled when I got home and retail including the Sox inserts was 270:00$cdn! Wow lol Thankyou for the greenery we are currently under snow here in southern Ontario Canada blessings to you and wee Patsy 🇨🇦🐝

It is good to know that those celandines are a precious source of vitamin c, BUT once flowering they become toxic, so they can only be eaten in those early days of spring. I saw the very first flowers here in West Cork too.

Hi Colette, isn't it wonderful to hear all the birds again! I was out for a walk this morning & I could hear frogs everywhere. They were making use of the new drains the farmer had dug out it the fields, plenty of water in them with all the rain! I got the Penny's bargain too😂😂 couldn't pass them, they're so handy for popping out to the shed for firewood! You have done a lovely job out the front too, you are some woman for the hard work!

I have never heard that ever and have sat endless footwear on tables, especially as a child when shoes were polished on a sheet of newspaper on the table!

Good evening Colette. Woke up here in the NE USA to more snow. Beautiful in its own way. I enjoy seeing all your new life and growth and know well see it too in another six weeks or so. Until then I am enjoying spotting lots of new growth on my indoor plant collection...early Spring for sure! 😊
Oooh I wish I could use a wood stove to heat the house! My bill just went up to $396 a month!!! For electricity and gas!!! Brian from Off Grid Back Country channel posted a plot of land for sale in Arizona. He lives off Grid near Prescott Arizona. The plot was around $40,000 so cheap compares to Britain.

It gives me so much pleasure to drink my first cup of coffee and see that you have a new video. The advertising doesn't bother me because of my anticipation for your visit. Not sure if it is supposed to work that way, but I only get ads when I put your video on pause or leave it for a bit and then come back. At one point you could skip ahead but that is not option now. Another person I follow, Frugal Queen of France, also had no advertising for a long time and she is not in control of it now, so I just put up with it. Often the ads are not supportive of her ethics either, i.e., fast food are and she and her husband do not support eating that way.
At one point, we were considered citizens first and now we are only considered consumers by th e powers that control until elections. Quite irritating and sad at same time.

All your cutting back at the roadside is looking wonderful. Will you plant grass in front of the rocked off area in front of the fence. It looks like it's just dirt there now? Lucky you to have a handy ditch to take care of the things you have cut back along the fence line. We've had some wonderful warm days for February and I've begun cutting back the tops of some of my perennials and tall grasses. I'm getting overloaded with the cuttings since I'll be waiting until early April for the city to come collect them on a regular basis. Some can be chopped and put into my compost bins but they are nearly full of chopped up leaves from this fall which I will use as mulch once I've raked out the flower beds later on towards real spring weather. Things will be pretty messy around here until I get some reliable warm spring weather to work with.
