Hi ! unless I understood you wrong .... Molly has been in the "business" for about 15 years,or more ! and also was ,in 2017 the first girl to get the Label " Guitar player of the year " in the usa ! which is the highest distinction ,except for classical guitar.

Yeah, I've been through 9 old Martins, even a 1937 D-28. I used to swear by Brazilian Rosewood as being the best tone wood UNTIL I wound up with a 1939 D-18 in part trade. It's the forward shifted design Martin changed to in late 1939, which is supposed to be inferior to the older design, But I can tell you that is not true. It varies instrument to instrument. Del McCoury also plays a forward shifted late 1939 D-18. Sounds magnificent unplugged, but it's when you go to put a mic on it, THAT"s when you'll appreciate mahogany over rosewood. Way less feedback, and crisp and clear with a dry, yet powerful bass. I can hear right away that your new mahogany Thompson sounds better than your rosewood Thompson, and of course, you will prefer it for live play.
I can't understand exactly why, but I love OLD strings on my Martin's. My 1939 D-18 still has the same strings I received it with a year ago! That's how you know you have a hoss.... That it LIKES old strings, uncoated, and you are always disappointed when you put new, tinny strings on it. Mark O'Connor has a video demonstrating strings on his D-28 herringbone that are from like the 60's or 70's, but it sounds incredible (of course).

Mahogany vs Brazilian. You should love madagascar rosewood then. Mahogany is very player friendly. It likes to resonate in your stomach and chest. It doesnt do well projecting what you are feeling though. . If madagascar hasnt been embargoed beyond import yet. It will help projection but maybe you wanted that player friendly resonance. Idk. Oh. Nm... she has a custom modern brazilian. This is all a sales pitch. I suppose i look silly.
yeah I got a tip for dealing with d'em damn crows ! ...you put out some bread crumbs down in your yard and then you hide behind a tree and wait on the crows to come around and they'll start pecking away at these breadcrumbs and they'll. be all distratced and stuff right cause there like liking the breadcrumbs ... oh yeah I forgot one thing ... do you have a shotgun Molly ? .... ya might want-a have that before you hide behide the tree , so as I was saying they'll be distracted by the breadcrumbs and thinking afterwards " yeah I'm going to steal me some more of those eggs after I finish up these breadcrumbs , ha, ha !" ... this is the crow talking now right and anyways while he's not looking Blam !! you blast him with the shotgun , and its just that simple .Molly .
