She is incredible, I met her couple of times. I'm Iranian and studied bluegrass at ETSU. I was so honored meeting Bryan Sutton and some other heros at different festivals around. I have taken lesson from some legends such as Wyatt Rice and Adam Steffey (some mandolins). I'm so blessed to learn awesome music style.
World class guitarist, lovely human being. Many thanks to the Tuttle family for all the contributions to the world of music, especially my main love Bluegrass !

@@mbsnyderc I've heard Sully sing, he's the real deal. I think Molly is an awesome player... but the truth is... there are dozens of flatpickers that would blow her away... Cody Kilby, Chris Eldridge, and the list goes on.... but she is a good marketing tool.
That Pre War sounds amazing. Third one I’ve heard and all of them are huge huge! Molly’s technique doesn’t hurt at all. I Love the direction these new artists are taking our bluegrass. Inspiring!
In love Molly her voice and so her guitar playing. I try to play my self but a tumour in my vertebra did hinder my skills. But happy me the tumour is removed after 10 years and I can proceed..😁 Looking up new inspiration on you tube I noticed this. looking at the technical part of playing I noticed Molly has beautiful hands but also a very long pinkie. 😁 My question if you can learn bleu grass beter with a more square hand.
No special effects, girl, your music and talent speaks for itself, it doesn’t need any embellishments or enhancements. Keep being yourself. I love your music.
Saw Molly and band some weeks ago in LA at a small venue. They played selections from her new album. All of them had "hit" potential. Her picking speaks for itself, but she's also an excellent songwriter with an extraordinary voice.
Typed in YT search bar "teach me some bluegrass guitar" and this video came up among the first few. I clicked on it because of Molly. Decided to learn Seneca Square Dance, my first Bluegrass flatpicked tune. Traditional melody is very straightforward. But Molly's timing is super tricky. And brilliant. I learn it one day then tomorrow I need to learn it again.
molly is a gift to humanity...a truly amazing guitarist, singer, songwriter, performer, artist...and an wonderful person. her videos are really cool. every guitar lover should know about her!
The Tuttles are a California treasure,I've had the pleasure of seeing them a few times at the California bluegrass awards show. Her father Jack is quite the talent too, plays I'm pretty sure ALL of the instruments lol! Check out A.J. Lee,she is fab. Her song White Horse will get you in the feels. If not you dont have a heart!
Yeah. Well, I mean what can you really say? The entire situation she creates just speaks for itself. There is a cluster of emerging progressive bluegrass players right now, she is one of the emerging stars. Amazing to watch it happen; wonderful. Cool to see it here.
For the most part, the best guitars sound a lot alike. But I'm becoming convinced Pre-War Guitars are special. I recently played a Mandolin Orange video that featured an incredibly bright, likable guitar. Checking into that, I learned about Pre-War instruments. Molly is the kind of performer I enjoy most. She is extremely skillful and yet naturally modest. Lovely.
So natural a flat picker and yes holds the pick like Mr David Grier .. the Dunlop she uses sounds nice I am still learning how to hold my pick but it's different like she metioned between strums solos etc.. warm inspiring interview Molly ty
Yup- my mentor’s teacher Pepe Romero (classical virtuoso) was taught by his father Celedonio. We’re lucky these families have produced these great players including MT for the next generation...
@flyingdolphin it's what people who aren't good enough to get paid say about people who are. Because clearly if you're a true artist you hate money right?
I agree with Liam. Why should someone take a pay check to share their knowledge and use their instrumental skill... For what.. To eat *pah, true artists starve and die poor* I'm joking. Just incase the Internet does its thing of ignoring nuance.
There are much better videos on picking all over UA-cam. She's fast but she's not incredibly fast. There are definitely people more skilled with a pick.
@@Rochisman Sure Molly is great and I love her music. But she most definitely is not the most skilled with a pick. ua-cam.com/video/AfQkxXwEIYs/v-deo.html this is a short clip of an interview with Michael Angelo Batio. He's incredibly fast and very clean with his picking.
All around you is balanced : you look a balanced person, you play a balanced style.. You seem very in harmony (another word wich fits both music and human nature !). Being honest, you're the only blue grass player I come back regularly to and listen to. Thank you for sharing.
has anybody noticed the incredible length and slenderness of Mollies fingers.....is this her secret....probably not ...she's just bloody good guitar player
Hi everyone. this is what a legend looks like. Molly Tuttle. In hundreds of years they are going to see this video and be like damn.. Molly Tuttle. That’s where that style originated from. ❤
The world needs more people like Molly, even if she never played a note.
I was thinking the same thing, Jay.

The world's full of great people. You only know about her because she plays notes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I admire the way she freely shares her knowledge and gift of playing guitar for others to enjoy. ❤
Great just to listen to Molly. Gentle, humble and Oh..so talented.
With young musicians like this around, the world is a better place !
Molly Tuttle is an absolute joy to see and hear. It's people like her that are in the forefront of keeping bluegrass alive and thriving!
Molly is such a joy to listen to whether playing or giving advice about her playing. She is something else! Love her.

Iran usually like classical or Spanish guitar music.
Iranian studying bluegrass in east Tennessee. Very cool. Peace to all.
@@DMSProduktions I honestly went to Sevilla Spain before coming to Tennessee studying bluegrass.

Mark McCann dozens of flat pickers that would blow her away? Fucking hilarious
My lord the absolute tonal perfection in her playing is just staggering!!!
So glad to see Molly featured in my favourite guitar mag!
How on earth someone can make ONE pick sound like five fingers is beyond me. So awesome.
She is a wonderful player AND that guitar sounds amazing. A match made in heaven.
She has a habit of making D18s sound incredible. That is a nice one for sure.
This young lady is amazing could listen to her all day wow
Great to hear such nerdy questions (picking direction, plectrum used) answered by someone so talented that can play so well.
I think I've watched this about eight times now. This is such a great primer for anyone wanting to be inspired to learn flatpicking.
She is fantastic. So humble. Amazing skills. Only 8 guitars!
Molly Tuttle is such a professional talented Lady!! loves her!! 100-100

She said it was to mimic the 1930s style guitars or WWII. Why are all of the other wars like the Civil War and WWI left out of the referral to war?
never heard of these Pre War guitars , though Hillsboro , N.C. is about 35 miles from where I live . they sound good and she can play !
Great technique and right hand
I hope there's more videos coming

Molly Tuttle has been real good for a real long time . . . glad to see her getting the recognition she deserves.
As humble and sweet as she is talented. So refreshing!!
I musta been living under a rock. How have I not heard of her, I found a gem
Same here. New favorite for me!
She's so great. Good to see her in the UK.
Molly is such a musical inspiration and a musical genius. Thanks so much for putting this out there!
Seneca Square Dance. I've only heard that before on Ry Cooder's "The Long Riders" album. Molly's version is lovely, too.

The Dunlop 207 pick. That may be the best lesson I ever got. Just got it out of the package from Amazon and it's perfect!
Such a gift and talent and such a lovely spirit. 🤠
That is as clean as it gets. Wow! And nice recognition of David Rawlings, one of the best.
What a player, unbelievable talent, Gorgeous pre war tone on that Pre War D...

You and Ketch Secor are my favorite 🎸🎵

Perhaps that's where her magical gift for guitar playing comes from!
Molly Tuttle should have a Cross picking course on Masterclass

She was here in Los Angeles and in Bakersfield in May. I missed seeing her!!! Great guitarist!!!
After a couple weeks of focusing and practicing the first song in the video, I think I have the first two notes down. Getting there!!! Lol. WOW

Molly please come to Long Island and teach me Seneca Square Dance. She is so good and her right hand technique is great. The whole family is great!
Molly is super talented and beautiful AND that guitar sounds AMAZING! WOW!
This is so GREAT - thank you!!!!
Wonderful interview and outstanding picking !!!
Great to see her getting some props this side of the pond. She is a fantastic guitar player. Masterful picking technique.
Love her picking....she influenced me to name my new Martin d16 Molly...I found her just after I bought it and the name just stuck
This is the teacher every flat picker needs.

How do you play a bass and a high string at the same time
Excellent stuff Molly!

Wow! Fantastic picker and very humble.
Molly, do you play electric guitar sometimes ? Hervé from France
Nothing less than an angel from heaven...
Very nice! Anyone got the tabs for the solo part ( 4:20 - 4:40 )? Would love to be able to play this, a bit hard to figure out all the notes 😅
No tab but have you tried slowing the video down to 0.75 speed, which you can do from the video settings

Excellent player. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks!

I have met just about every Bluegrass picker from Bill Monroe on, but my meetings won’t be complete until I meet this young woman.
I've just recently purchased a Martin acoustic guitar from a local thrift store in London. I'd love Molly to teach me a few basic chords. ❤️🇬🇧
