Man do i wish I could clip the first 30 seconds of this video for my presentation tomorrow, that is like the most basic easiest way to describe what a CPU actually does, and my dumbass thought doing a presentation on the evolution of CPUs would be an easy topic for my final exam/ presentation. WOW was i wrong, i couldve picked something stupid like video games or social media, but NOOOO i had to pick CPUs which are literally in everything that we do today and allow for all of the other topics i couldve picked from to even be possible!! This is a great video, can I burrow the first 35 seconds please? haha

Update I got an A on the presentation, and did not use this video. I didn’t want to go into the complex instruction set computation vs risc (reduced instruction set) like ARM and what’s in our smart phones, didn’t wanna talk about l1-l3 cache cuz I only had 15 minutes and not enough time to explain all that, and my main topic which was how we went from the Intel 8080 to the CPUs we know and use today. So because I tried to avoid going down the rabbit hole of the Alu, memory controller, ect. He took a couple points off. I only briefly talked about fetch, decode, execute, (and a brief explanation on how caches play a role in communication) because it was to a class of IT people that are in beginning classes and tbh my topic was beyond the scope of the class haha, if I used this video I probably would have got a 100 instead of a 95 cuz I didn’t show a “clear and concise understanding of the technologies function.” Then afterwards I talked to him and broke down exactly what a cpu does even to the registry coding stored in ram, how it’s stored and how it is retrieved and why, and he was like yeah probably best you didn’t take that route, I woulda been up there for 60 minutes speaking another language to these kids lol.
