Great cards. Thanks for the tutorial. I’ve heard some went in and changed pressure to maybe 290 🤷♀️. My cards just arrived yesterday. Can’t wait to try them out.
I've been cutting mine on Glitter Cardstock with less pressure and they weed a lot easier. But I can't access my custom settings for some reason, so I have no idea what the pressure is and how that compares to the settings for the cutaway cards.
I had trouble weeding, also. The cutting depth was right but the cardstock came off in layers in some areas. Other areas popped right off. I like the concept enough I bought one of each set - so I'll have plenty to practice on. And I laughed when you pointed out the magnet! Never thought about that. Good job!
You can! You just need to open the card and make sure the inside is facing the correct way and have the cricut write on it. You need to do it with a separate step
I ordered the cutaway card. As I was trying to remove the sticky paper backing, I realized it was also very hard to remove and destroying the part it was stuck to. I tried several other cutaway cards and had the same results. It’s almost as if the sticky paper was super glued on. Any ideas as to why this hap penned or what I’m doing wrong. I even tried using a heat gun to soften the glue.hy
Struggle with weeding it! if you go to deep it scratches the pretty foil! 🤯 I also made one and it was to intricate and missed a lot of the tiny pieces. 😱
No. Because cutaway cards have adhesive to hold letter centers and designs you can use anything you want. If you have the card insert ones those would need to average bridges to hold any letter centers so think stencil fonts
No. It will damage the card mat because it cuts fully through the adhesive. The backer is very thick to allow for the full cut through of the adhesive and not damaging the card mat
Hey Corrine, I am having a real issue with the text box. It has changed it's appearance. When I clip on the text box and choose the font it comes up blue and it is almost impossible to type the message. I am so frustrated. I've never run into this before. I have gone to settings but mine doesn't show , " classic " in the menu. I am in Canada but again never had a problem before. P.S. I love your tutorials.
@@CorinneBlackstone I have a terrible time with the text box I ungrounded the text but for some reason my the text box comes out blue and won't let me start typing. I so wish they hadn't changed the system. I have Cricut Access so I'll contact them and see what they say. Thank you Corrine.
I don't know how you get a "customize" button next to the "Make it" button… I don't have the option to customize the cards from Design Space at all. They may have changed this...
@@CorinneBlackstone ya I did that but it’s still only showing the main cards no your design here… maybe I need to get cricut access in order to get her template…
Love your videos but your voice is so calming I fall asleep. It's not that you are boring it just takes me twice to watch the video.
I finally broke down and bought one. I love it, it's so much fun and easy to use.
Great tutorial. It was well planned and easy to follow. Well done.
Thank you for the magnet suggestion. I’m looking forward to making some of these.
Thanks for the video. I just ordered inset and cutaway cards.
Thanks, Corinne. I can’t wait to try them out.
I found using more pressure helped better with weeding
Thank you, Corinne. I can’t wait to try them.

I agree I like the cards but the paper needs some improvement

Your instructions are the very best! Can you write on the interior of the card?

I just got my Joy today! Thanks for the tutorial. I love your Pin Pen. How did you get one with mermaid scales?? Please share.
I got it on Amazon! :) plus a pink sparkle one.

@@CorinneBlackstone Thanks! I just purchased. Gotta be a happy crafter with all the cool tools!
Can you only make cards with the joy? I am a newbe! You explain really easy! Thank you
No you can make vinyl decals and htv things there’s a lot you can do it just limits your size which is why I tend not to use it
thank you
You can undo the weld with the undo arrow at the top left.
Yes however once’s saved you cannot undo the weld
How do I get the joy to cut all the way through the cut away cards
You will probably have to do a custom setting at max pressure and cut twice. I’m not sure why you would want it to cut all the way through though
What would happen if you put the insert backing on after you cut the card?
Nothing
Is there a reason you can’t do the cut-out and add the backing paper afterward? Thanks.
You probably could but I think it’s because the backing might stick to the mat too much
Can you cut out the foil in different color paper (cricut foil paper) cardstock?
You totally could use something else for the backer if you wanted a different color
New subscriber here and also new related to Maker and explorer machines. Do you have tutorials about card making with thoses machines? Thank you
I have some videos yes and there is one coming soon on using these cards with the maker and explore as well

My only guess is that maybe they got too hot causing the adhesive to melt.
These can only be done on the joy, or can they be done on the explore air also?
I am working on seeing if I can make these easily on the other machines. I think it can be done I just need to perfect it
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you so much. 💞

@@CorinneBlackstone what about designs?
@@whitney24100 same concept as I mentioned above. The designs have to have all parts touching if the card is not a cutaway card with the adhesive back
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you!🙂
Could you make the card before putting on the backer? I would think that would work better in helping with weeding and not scratching the foil.

Classic no longer is an option. And they did change the text box editing recently but it’s the same as this video shows. It is a little weird now

I’ll have to check. I have my joy packed up but I will look into as soon as I can!
