Keeping China Dependent on Europe - the Role of Governments

Over the last few years, Europe has been focusing on the reduction of dependencies on Chinese technology. Public actors - states and the EU institutions - have become more active. The toolbox encompasses measures to protect the European market from unfair competition, promote innovation made in Europe and partner with other countries to diversify. These policies have, however, mostly aimed at reducing technological dependencies on China. Digital Power China, a European research consortium of engineers and China experts, has just published a new report, where we take a new perspective and rather analyze reverse dependencies. In short: How can we make sure that China will continue to rely on European technology? In this podcast, we discuss the role of the state in these efforts.
