    It's like a Kodak instamatic in the 1950's and 60's. You join a camera club and travel around taking pictures with slide film then you project the slide and narrate your travels to the club member's. The same for family photos and family gatherings.

    Thanks for the video! I got this camera to take on a cruise. Hope to get some beautiful pictures of the Caribbean.

    not sure if they're the same camera but the Illford sprite 35 looks almost identical and is cheaper. both seem to have the same f9 and 1/120s shutter speed from what i can tell, so may be a better alternative for like 20-30 rather than the 50 i think this is!

    Oh, thank you for this video! I was thinking, maybe I want to get one F9, until I watched this video, and especially examples of the photos. Everything there is completely out of focus... I don't want a camera like that :D

    What film did you use on that photos?

  • @marcp.1752
    @marcp.1752 2 роки тому +8

    It's a fixed aperture (F9 - as the name implies) all plasticky 40-50 bucks Box camera with 1 Single Lens Element (Miniscus Lens). Basically, one would be much better with any 2nd hand 5-10 bucks 35mm F3.5 Olympus, Canon or Fujifilm compact camera, from the 80-90's.

    • @robertcop3736
      @robertcop3736 2 роки тому +4

      True, but I am just after disposable camera quality photos so I think this will be a decent purchase.

    • @marcp.1752
      @marcp.1752 2 роки тому

      @@robertcop3736 Ok. Here into germany, one does pay usually 20 EUR for this, so a Film SLR with 50mm F1.7/F1.8 or F2 Lens is usually into >90% being cheaper than this.
      But i see the point, not to need fiddling with ISO, Aperture and Shutterspeed. And then the size, the bulk. A small point & shoot is always smaller, handy into size.

    How does the camera designate what ISO film you load? 400 Seems to have worked well for you but what if I want to use 100?

    • @cameractive9316
      @cameractive9316  2 роки тому +1

      there is no light meter, the shutter speed and aperture is fixed. You should decide what film you should use based on weather and lighting.

    hello, I purchased kodak ultra f9 camera and I tried testing the flash of the camera with a battery (without film) but it did not function. Is it still all right?

    • @cameractive9316

      It is possible, but unlikely. You can try testing the flash like I do in the video, and make sure the battery can reach both the + and -- in the battery compartment
